Cursed Tiki Temple has finally arrived, and Wild Storm looks gorgeous!

Also, something that went over my head but it's on Instagram - the mold for the Magic crystal in LIM is visible in CTT's packaging. It's a cool one, but this time it's a super dupe, because it's been in three packs already.

Well, that sucks.

Didn't see it because it's not on my version of the box, but aside for the fact that I'd want a very specific mold for each Element, I only got one extra Crystal outside of the Fire one in the Starter Pack.

Just finished Cursed Tiki Temple.

Considering the fact they didn't had much time, they probably had a very restricted budget and Activision basically consider this a last chance for the franchise... I think it's a fantastic level!
Even without thinking about that I still consider it a pretty good one.

The visuals are gorgeous like the rest of the game, Bob (I smiled like an idiot when he said his name ) is a nice companion trough the adventure and I liked how they focused a bit more on puzzles and exploration rather than fighting.
I particularly appreciated the Dragon Island bit, which was clearly based on Cloudbreather from SuperChargers but it's still a nice concept, the illusory wall mechanic and the new twist on laser and block puzzles.

The enemies are quite cool, albeit simple, and I loved how some of them resemble Double Trouble, perfectly fitting the theme of the level and possibly hinting at these islands being his homeland.
Also, I personally think the bigger enemies are Magic Geargolems, due to the purple coloration of their inner parts and their attacks.

I would have liked it even more if Cynder had more screentime (have to check if her italian dubber changed as well, probably yes since Spyro was still the same despite his english change) and if there were a final battle with Bob's body, but I really liked it and I'm certainly looking forward to Lost Imaginite Mines.

A lot of people thought a picture of Dark Food Fight seen from the side was a Series 2 Ghost Roaster because of the way the light reflected on him. It's pretty much why it's better to take blurry pictures with a grain of salt; there was a LOT of infighting before someone took a similar picture to put the subject to rest.

You can play co-op with one Joy-Con each, you don't need a pair each. You have to change the controller order from the Switch main menu though to select one Joy-Con each.

The only real change to button layout with just one Joy-Con is the Sky Chi power. It is activated by clicking in the stick and then pressing the SR button (SL and SR are a single Joy-Con's L and R).

With those with the Switch version, are the load times noticeably long? They seem pretty long when compared with the PS4, but I havent seen anything comparing it to the Wii U (the only version i have experience with)

The load times on Switch are longer but most of the time it's not too bad. There is at least one level that takes a crazy amount of time to load, and that's Scholarville (the third level). You have to watch the entire opening cutscene without being able to skip, and then still have to wait like 30 seconds to actually start playing the level. The first time we played my son thought the game had frozen.

That's the only cutscene I remember not being able to skip at all. Other than that, loading times were fine.

Switch version doesn't read traps and there is no racing component.

If I recall correctly, Wii U load times are also longer compared to PS4, so Switch does not seem too bad when comparing with Wii U instead of comparing with PS4.

Breath of the Wild is a game far, far bigger than Skylanders, but it can load the entire continent in just a few seconds on the Switch. Skylanders' loading times on the Switch is just a case of lazy developers.

That's not really how it works. The stuff far in the distance in Zelda are really low poly models and low resolution textures. The game streams data as you play which is why anytime you teleport or enter a shrine it has to go to loading screen. As long as you are moving along at a normal pace it can load in the detail as you go, but if you do something that vastly changes your surroundings quickly, you have to load.

Skylanders loads in the entire level at once, with full detail, there is no reason to stream the data into the level. It's not laziness, it's just a different game design.

So poor optimization for how the new console works. Not much different.

Is CTT worth the money?

It's not as big as most APs but it seems good if you like the aesthetic and puzzle oriented design. Also because it's an interest check for the series as a whole.

Even tho in don't have it yet it's my fav AP. Amazing level design and amazing sensei in one is a win win for me. Can't wait for LIM as well!

The only gripe I have with it at the moment is the poor character select screen, they're just put in order of when you scanned them - at least on the 3DS versions of previous games they were sorted into elements. It's taking so long to scan all of them aswell seeing as you have to scan each character twice to unlock them and having a large collection of skylanders, it is taking hours.

I hear you on that. At first I only scanned in the 40 or so released Senseis just so I didn't have a huge list to wade through.

Recently I scanned in the Swap Force. They go to the beginning of the list and you only need to scan them one time. Keep in mind they are permanently in your line up but are level 20 with no upgrades and no money. The Swap Force are automatically sorted by element, just like 3DS, but not necessarily alphabetized.

Slowly scanning in my collection, but just so they are added to the toy collection screen. I'm adding/deleting them from the line up in batches. The thought of cycling through 300+ just to get to Boom Jet for example is not worth it to me.

My youngest son and I have been using the Swap Force now that they are in the player line up over the last few days. It's fun replaying Imaginator levels with them to get money for upgrades. Thinking of deleting all but one Sensei (for gong battles) and just playing with Swap Force characters until those are all upgraded, then add the Sensei's back.

Has anyone seen dark crystals in San Antonio TX? I've looked everywhere for the past month and I still haven't seen any.

Well sorry to hear that. Target are actis number 1 dark crystal carrier. None have showed up at any others where I live none tru none gamestop zero walmart. That is strange. Good luck on your search.

Can I say the figures from this game look amazing, now that I got to see them personally? Since I'm only used to see stuff up to Swap Force, I got kinda surprised at the quality of Imaginators figures. Bad Juju, Starcast and Grave Cobbler kinda got my eyes more.

The figure quality production got ramped up between Superchargers and Imaginators. Which is good, since now Skylanders can finally hold a candle to the overall quality of amiibo. Some figures from the last few games were just embarrassingly poor (especially the comparison between Bowser/DK and their amiibo counterparts).

They also started properly using the molds rather than paint and effects to have better figures. The Senseis have a lot more wear and tear and details that other games wouldn't have on the figures like GC's wraps, kinda like the Trap Team figures, and it makes them feel real.

Have any Dark Crystals been found at Gamestop yet? I may be going out tomorrow, and I'd like to try and visit as few stores as possible, and I think I can pick up Hood Sickle at mine. It'd be great if Starcast was there too, and even a Dark CC, but I want to ask beforehand.
