I don't know if someone mentionned it, but VGchartz* says that Imaginators has 1.21 million global sales as of 24th Dec 2016. Last time we talked about numbers it was around 600.000 I think? I'm glad the game went over 1 million unit sold

Well i guess that it will make sanse that the number of sales got larger after a while. Not sure of its means that sky7 will happen but it sure is nice to see somthing like that wether if those vgcahrtz are 100% accurate or not.

Actually I was in Big W yesterday (Australia) and they had a reasonably good range of crystals and wave 3 characters, whereas a few weeks ago their shelves were bare. However their prices had all gone back up to full price which suggests to me they don't have a lot of stock.

On a side note I was in EB Games today and the guy I was talking to there said his store was getting very good numbers of pre-orders for the new Nintendo Switch console which is encouraging.

It's entirely possible that sales picked up over the Christmas period. That would be great and might even lead them to making a new game. However, VGChartz isn't reliable for this kind of information. It is literally just guesswork for the most part. It doesn't mean anything.

So many Skylanders are going on clearance at Walmart now. My brother, who works there, claims that Senseis are now around $12.50, and Creation Crystals around $8.50. When prices head down to a level that the first game had, you know this franchise is in desperation. I thought it was just an after-Christmas sale at first, but the price of the Skylanders have been down way too long to be a sale.

i was at the shops today, just taking a look to see if they had any painyatta, and there was none. i am just glad i ordered mine online, it looks like they arent bothered to put out any of them new skylanders in the shops at all anymore. they just put them online and sell them there. it looks like it is gonna be like this for the few lefts. so keep your eyes on the online sales from now on, thats my advice to my fellow skylanders fans.

Actually Painyatta releases in a single in March. Amazon preorders have already popped up for wave 4 including Cursed Tiki Temple, Grave Clobber, a Dark Crystal single, and of course, Painyatta. They're not online only either; Wal-Mart already has a Painyatta single pack in their system along with the rest of the senseis after wave 4, which lines up perfectly with their announcement for their plans after Skylanders releases on the Switch. What was that about them not bothering to put new Skylanders in the shops anymore?

So this lack of confirmation of Heartbreaker Buckshot has me worried. Valentine's Day is two weeks away and no word. They never cancelled a variant before as far as I know. This is a bad omen.

They delayed (canceled until he appeared last month) regular Thrillipede after his variant was released because he already had a version out. It's possible Heartbreaker Buckshot was canned because he looked a bit too... I dunno, devilish? It doesn't mean the series is canceled for sure, it just means that this specific figurine was unfortunately probably never made. I do wish they would stop picking a figure to scrap every year though. They obviously think that if they scrap one that either has a variant or is not well known, we'll never notice.

Franchise done or not, Heartbreaker Buckshot might just be the first true cancelled finished character if that's the case. We never had a character this far into development get canned and erased, period. Even Thrillipede and Yawn Traps were still on the site, I believe.

It's very possible it's because of his looks though rather than anything on the franchise itself. Fauns are fine, but his appearance crosses a line.

His files are still on the site, like this Soul Gem screenshot, but who knows for how long.

That'd take an update for the game, and by the point the Switch version comes out he'll be no longer relevant.

I'd take a silly recolor like Jade(just change all the red/pink to green), but if they made the figures already it's too late.

But people just go evil goat=old scratch depending on their beliefs and how much they want to go after a toy franchise to whine. And we had that already over Magic and Undead skylanders.

Honestly I'm glad Heartbreaker Buckshot died if the alternative was us getting tons of Heartbreaker Buckshots clogging the shelves and a minimal or nonexistent release of regular Buckshot.

Let's not jump to conclusions too soon. Do we have any real evidence that the figure has been canned other than the fact that we haven't seen it yet?

So in 8 days from now, we should find out. I think whatever happens, people will be upset either way.
If no new game for 2017 is confirmed, the people who want one will be upset.
If there IS a game coming this year, then everyone who thought their wallets would be safe this year will be upset.

As ninja9351 (Portalmaster9351) said in his video, Activision have confirmed a new game every year in the second week of February for the last 6 years. So it would be quite fishy if they don't confirm one next week. (Keep in mind "confirmed" not meaning "announced". The games for the last 2 years were confirmed in Feb and announced in June.)

I just made an account on the Activision website. It's very easy and quick to do so I think we're allowed to listen to it live next week. I'm not sure if we're allowed to record it, but I might record it if that's ok with everyone?

Not gonna lie... I both laughed at this and felt the sting of truth. It's not cheap supporting both a Skylanders and Lego Dimensions habit, on top of the many other games I buy and don't have time to play due to a 50+ hour work week...

Though I'm still holding out hope, as I'm sure I've pointed out already a couple times earlier in this thread, that they'll do a "season two" release for Imaginators in the same vein as Lego Dimensions. More figures, more content, no new starter pack to buy and less dev time... wins all around. I like to believe that the Wildstorm level pack coming out in March might be a test run for it.

Yeah, I feel the same way. It's a lot of money we have to spend every year on figures, and also for me personally I'm running out of storage space to keep figures. So part of me is leaning towards wanting it to end, but hey, if they decide to keep updating Imaginators like Lego Dimensions, I feel that would be a better idea as well And I agree, I also think the Cursed Tiki Level pack is a test run for that kind of thing.

Ah, I didn't know that had been the pattern so far. So, if they don't confirm anything on Feb 9, I guess we can be certain that there's not going to be a new stand-alone instalment of the series this year (though there might possibly still be further Imaginators DLC along the lines of Cursed Tiki Temple).

Ok, this might mean the franchise is going to continue, or the show itself will. Either way this is great news. Not to mention a little sneak peak at S2!

I agree - it's not a confirmation that the game series will continue, but at least it shows that Activision has enough business sense to see a good thing in the TV series and keep going with it. =)

Good news, in a way or another, the franchise is not dead, so the hope for new games and/or additional content is there.

Still unsure on games, as it's a different Acti dept. entirely, but if SA lives on so does the IP.

That's what I was meaning. While the IP is alive and things are being done concerning Skylanders, the games are still alive in some degree, since Activision can decide to do anything new when they want. I'm not saying it's gonna happen, but it can. It's much better than having the all IP shutted down.

I'm sure I've made it clear that I'm not in love with the show the way I am with the games, but I can't see this announcement as anything but a good sign for the future of the franchise.

(Also, since the show reportedly met Netflix's viewer metrics, they might have chipped in more money to produce future episodes, thus making it more profitable for Activision.)
