I was thinking about this today. Anyone know why the Imaginators Dark edition starter sold out so quick? I can still find the dark Swap force and super chargers in store but not this one.

Just a matter of curiosity now. I wish I had done some more research on these because I didn't realize that it had a dark crystal with it and that thing sells for an insane price nowadays.

If you already have the game, this at least gets you everything else. It might go on sale again, but that's how it goes. Hope this helps.

The Dark Edition starter for Imaginators was also a GameStop exclusive in the US, and very few places other than GameStop got it in other countries.

They also under-produced the Dark Edition this year because of the glut of the stock from Trap Team and Superchargers. Also only Gamestop carried it this year in the US. Most Gamestops I saw only got a few copies of it (one per console) beyond pre-orders. And even with the major drop in stock, it still isn't that hard to find.

The dark crystal did help it some, but the real reason is they just didn't make all that many of them. The game had a significant drop off in buyers to coincide with that which is why you can still find it sparingly.

Dark Edition for Swap Force (the first Dark Edition) was also a Gamestop exclusive. It was pretty hard to get, especially for the WiiU - mine was the only one my Gamestop got in, and it is a pretty high traffic mall Gamestop.

For Trap Team and Superchargers it wasn't exclusive (except the Wii for Superchargers, which was TRU exclusive). After seeing shelves last year and the fire sale Amazon had to have on Dark Editions, it isn't surprising they cut way back and made it exclusive again. TRU also had to cut way back on the price to try and move the SC Dark, last I saw it was $14.99 and you could get $5 in Rewards for doing store pickup.

Anyone in the NY area see a gamestop wit ha dark xbox one edition. I was hoping to get the xbox one version over the 360.

Call GameStop and ask. They can look it up for you and get one shipped from another store.

I opted for the crash edition instead at launch. I've been putting it off to save my money to collect everything else. I'm being careful to save my money so I don't miss anything when the scarce wave four and five are released. Now I'm worried I won't find one when I can finally afford it.

Thanks for the info ill ask abt it next time i stop in. I have the dark of the 360 but id def trade it for an xbox one copy.
