If skylanders ends I'll probably spend a while searching for some good ones I missed, but my main focus will shift to amiibo. It'll be kind of nice to play skylanders without worrying about new stuff releasing, but at the same time it'll be sad knowing these days are gonna be over. Amiibo are cool but they only release with big titles a few times a year, and I only want a handful of those; I'm lucky to see five new amiibo a year that I'm actually gonna collect. They just don't have that same charm as Skylanders, you know?

VV is working on Crash and Destiny right now. They wouldn't have time for Skylanders anymore with so many big projects on deck!

I'm keeping up with my Skylanders collecting and also Amiibo. Have fun you guys with Lightseekers.

The good thing is that all my other favorite franchises are going pretty well as of now.

And hey, chances of a Academy Season 2 are pretty big.

Lightseekers doesn't require figures and has the card game side, so it's at least more viewer-friendly if you can't run it or afford it.
Not making advertisement or anything, it's really the only TTL left if Lego Dimensions also goes down.

I blame this on Activision's shortsightedness and stupidity. If only they had released a sports based Skylanders game this could all have been avoided. Skylanders Olympics just made so much sense but did they build it - NO. And so the franchise was DOOMED!

lol Except Lightseekers doesn't have Spyro in it. The only reason he added Skylanders on the site was because of Spyro.

I'm staying, just also adding Lightseekers to my radar permanently since they also need the support if the genre is this state. Can't let another game with amazing art direction go.

I've been looking up the job pages of some of the staff that worked at TFB and Acti on LinkedIn, you have to have an account on the site in order to see the info. Some of the staff at TFB left to other companies back in 2016, others are still at TFB for now. Several Skylanders Production, Marketing Managers and Investor Relations are still there at Activision.

Alex Ness, voice actor of the Chompy Mage and Broccoli Guy, got a new a new job since June 2016.

Chris Wilson and Mike Graham are still listed as producers. I-Wei Huang is still at Toys for Bob for now.

No sure, but at least there is a source that shows that some of the staff are still at TFB and Activision for now on Skylanders, including the executive producers.

I saw it. They're likely either still technically employed there or just haven't updated their LinkedIn profiles.

Jeff Poffenbarger is now the studio head of Oculus VR, as posted on his Twitter profile.

If we are being honest, I'm not sure what to think at this point. As much as I love this game and want to see it continue, I'm not really sure at this point. The signs are not looking good for the game. The ultimate reason that this game failed though would be lack of advertising and prices that were too high. The figures were originally $7 and have now more than doubled to $15. Activision pulled a guitar hero on this and abandoned it after milking it. MY current theory is that there will be a season 2 of academy but the rest of the franchise will go down in flames. Sigh, this game could have gone so much farther. I guess Lightseekers will have to become my second love after all.;

Well... I hope prices go down I guess.

Thanks for the help Liam. Hm... Since you do videos about cancelled games with Unseen64, it would be interesting to research what was being made to the next game by VV before it got cancelled. Just a suggestion. Dunno, I think it would be interesting and stuff.

Not sure the future of Skylanders but if it ends in 2017 it was a wonderful ride and I hope we at least get that second season of Skylanders Academy and who knows maybe Spyro and the gang will live on in a future game or project!

I think a video about what the story line of Skylanders 7 was going to be would be a great idea. I'd pay to watch that.

Wow... the chances are higher then ever. I can't imagine my life without Skylanders honestly... It's been such a huge part of it ever since I first got Spyro's Adventure, but all that is just... done? There could have been so much more... Malefor, Brain's tale will be uncontinued... everything will... it honestly sucks to see it go. The series had so much potential. I don't know whats to come next, but I'm just glad Academy is guaranteed to continue at least for one more Season.
