my gamestop account updated to say i had a paid in full in-store preorder for mystical tkc. never preordered him though. either a christmas surprise i wasn't supposed to see or best mistake ever

Until you find the charge for it on your credit card statement. That happened to me once, I got something I never ordered and I was charged for it. I wasn't too happy about it, but it wasn't worth dealing with for $12 or whatever it was at the time.

so with anyone who's been current with all skylanders currently out now can we confirm if skylanders max out at 50 or do they actually go to 51?

They go to 60 something. I am at 51 so far n when i get more it will go even higher.

As long as its a variant or special it goes up by 1 each. Chompy mage 1 jingle bell chompy mage 1 equals 2

If I did the math right, having every single individual version of a Sensei (including the variants) Imaginators should get up to 59.

I sure hope I did the math wrong because having Imaginators max out at 59 will bother me just slightly enough to annoy me. Lets hope for some mysterious variant we werent expecting.

Oh crabs, I forgot about Chase Variants. They have the "Special" tag under the character name dont they? Do they also increase the level cap? If so, who knows how overpowered the Imaginators will be. At least Nightmare mode will be easy...

Just open my Christmas eve present! It's Pain-yatta and the magic crystal! Pain-yatta's accent isn't as prevalent as I thought it would be, which is a relief. He's pretty fun so far as well.

Yes chase variants count. My crystal barbella uped there level by 1, even tho I already had done so with the regular one.

I want to max out my imaginations or at least get them to 60. But chase Variants go up serious cash... I couldn't use one for a level up purpose.

60 is perfectly doable without resorting to ("Chase") Variants.

And so far there have been 4 chase variants, bringing the total to 64.

The big question is if the employee exclusive variant counts (in past years it has been hit or miss on if they have the special tag or not, if this one does it would count.) If it does that would bring to total to 65.

Edit: to add to this in the past the games are programed in a way that they could add a chase of any and all regular skylanders. This would mean a theoretical total of 106 (if its not hard capped at something) As in the games programing there are 46 standard and the possibility of a chase of all 46 of them and 14 Alt Decos. Now they will most likely never release all 46 possible chase (as they never have before) but from a programing prospective that's what's possible.

46 and 60 are the Imaginator level caps, not the number of Senseis.
"46 (15+31)" = Level 46 (15 default + 31 from Senseis)
"60 (46+14)" = Level 60 (46 from before + 14 from Alt Decos)

The potential max cap would be 91, if all 31 Senseis had ("Chase") Variants.

I'm just going to stick with my favorites and level them up. It sounds like it could turn into quite a grind.

I wonder if it just goes up with every Skylander placed on there that hasn't been played in that game yet, like if you put 2 regular King Pens in the same game would the level cap go up by one or two? If so then there would be no max level cap.

Yeah, looks like they're announcing the winners of each session.

Sorry if this ends up including a DS user, but it's kinda sad that they've gone with the 'pick out of a hat' judging team again. Some of these choices are just a mess, let alone fitting the element. Zap's definately one of the better ones(not an obvious design, but still being Water through and through), obv, but I looked through the tags every week and I saw MUCH better than a lot that was in the video.

A tad off topic, but why does it seem no one knows how to use the size sliders? Why are nearly all of the characters I see bobbleheads?

Because most of them punch the random button and call it a day, or change Height only. Just give a look at the Skylanders Facebook gallery of their "top picks" to see how a) most kids think giant legs and everything else tiny is a-ok design and b) the PR definately doesn't look at what they pick and just did it randomly.

You guys do realize these contests are for children, not adults, right? They aren't looking for designs that are meticulously sized with color schemes that work out perfectly. They are looking for kids just having fun with it. You know, like when kids bring home their Kindergarten art for the refrigerator - we know it isn't Michelangelo quality, that is not the point. You are acting like someone that tells a kid their art is bad because their stick figures are not properly proportioned.

Someone that submits something that was obviously not kid made, or a character from a licensed property is not going to be selected.

Contest for kids is still a contest. Randomly picking someone who slapped a certain known head with a thousand colors(not going to say which and direct the anger to a single kid) and saying it's a good Water Skylander feels more like a raffle. And they say IN THE TERMS that it has to fit the theme, down to the catchphrase.

It's Bat Spin/Flip Wreck's contest backstory all over again.

Yeah, there are quite a few winners that seem just... odd. There are a few in there that are quite good (the crab knight, squid swashbuckler, and turtle sentinel to name a few other than scubazooka) but lots of them are just weird

Using the default Undead colors already makes you character better than a lot of these. More than one entry went with a bright and cheery yellow and white scheme - not even pumpkin orange.

But really, one of the first Imaginators I had in mind was Chopscotch but generic. It was a generic skull without a chest, and a big bone as a club. Sounds bad I know.
