I was doing a little research on VV to see if I could get any early indicators of what's going on and I found a curiously timed recent article about the Bala Brothers new studio.

I still feel that they had seen the writing on the wall and knew when the heck to leave. They probably had made this decision half way during Trap Team's release when early sales reports were showing things are not so good. SuperChargers was mostly done and couldn't be stopped. Imaginators was probably too far in to cancel as well. 2017 was probably the first year that Activision could have realistically either cut bait or go ahead with Skylanders and that would have been on the Bala Brothers shift and they probably didn't want any part of that. The Bala's were smart enough to know that Sky 7 would probably be a miracle and so they left. Well, that was how I felt when I first heard the news of their leaving and it's still how I feel today. The only difference in my opinion now is that they probably didn't know what a bomb SuperChargers was going to be at the time when they decided to leave. Back then, I felt for sure that they knew how awful it was and they either high tailed it out of there or they were forced to leave.
I know that VV has some games on the radar, like Crash Remastered, but what if the studio does close down due to no Sky 7? The Bala's are right there in the area ready to pick up the best staff and start all over again, but this time with a nice 25% grant from the government. Pretty smart if that's does happen! Either way, they surely left for a better future and I do believe it'll happen for them as they are no dummies. But I must remind people, this is all speculation. No one has any idea about what's happening other than to guess on what's been happening. Sadly, I have a feeling I'm not too far off from the truth either.
If it is the end of the line, then I'll remind people again, best get whatever figures you are even slightly interested in ASAP with these next few waves as they are probably going to be obscenely hard to get later on, more so once the news does hit. I highly doubt Activision is running the factories non-stop on any Imaginator character like in the old says. With that in mind, I'm all in for a Tidepool even if it'll cost me triple the price as she's just that cool and I must have her. Heartbuster Buckshot is top on the list too as he's so cute and really scary at the same time. LOL! Everyone else I'm a bit "Meh" about as I've already some 200 different Skylanders and it is getting a bit ridiculous trying to collect them all when I only really play with about 10 to 20 characters a year. At this point in the game I bought one of each element to unlock content, but I don't really plan to get every figure as I'll never get around to using them.
