Honestly, thinking about it, the story isn't particularly bad... Just simple. And I think a lot of people were just expecting more after Vicarious Visions' story in Superchargers.

The story felt rushed and tacked on, and after the decidedly apocalyptic, seemingly final 'feeling' of Superchargers, it feels like a step backwards, or as mentioned, a Saturday Morning cartoon where development and events are just reset back to zero by the next episode. Not to mention the fact the Skylanders driving the plot forward as NPCs felt like shameless promotions to the upcoming TV series, which cheapens the whole affair to a glorified advertising campaign.

Hell, when they said Skylanders as NPCs, I was hoping we'd see more than just the same oversaturated characters we've been seeing endlessly.
