I know there's some similar posts on here but I haven't found anything that really makes it clearer to me. So from those of you who have made a few characters what element of crystal would you suggest I buy and what battle class should I make my Skylander?
I know different people will have different opinions but that's what I'm after, different opinions. I only want to buy one crystal and I want it to be great. So wondering what each of you would recommend. Thanks.
Oh and also, how do the Parts Sets work, is each part just put into each section e.g. head goes into the head list, arms into the arms lists etc or is there someway of just choosing a set and then modifying from there?
Oh and finally are all parts available to all elements/battle classes?
Thanks again.

I'm sure someone with the game will go more in-depth, but for now:
1. None of the classes or elements seem outright bad, but apparently Swashbuckler has some disgustingly OP abilities if that's your thing. 2.Sets are just themed parts that when collected unlock a final one. They're mixed up with everything else in the creator, so you have to do them the same way as independent pieces. 3. All elements yeah, not all classes. Ninjas and Swashbucklers have restrictions. However, keep in mind you need certain elements to get certain sets, like Air for Birdman parts or Dark for Demon parts. Those are just 10 in a huuuge list of normal sets though, so it's all about what you want to use.

McMurderpaws has put up a very useful list of all the elemental abilities here (note that you can only have one of these active at a time):
//forum.darkspyro.net/spyro/viewposts.php?topic=133300 And you can find a list of all the battle classes' attacks and secret techniques here: http://skylanders.wikia.com/wiki/Battle_Classes Swashbucklers don't have legs (the lower half of their body is a tail, exclusive to that class), and ninja characters don't have a chest. |

Swashbucklers are definitely disgustingly OP if you really want a powerhouse. At the cost of legs.

Thanks for the links, I've already read through the elemental one. It's very useful, but it doesn't necessarily tell me how good those abilities are. But I will be referring back to them. |

I really, really like fast Skylanders. I think I would take speed over power. Do Swashbucklers have a fast dash move? Or maybe if I have a Fire Swashbuckler? |

Yes, I know the feeling. I have some combinations in mind that look good on paper, but I don't know how good they'll be in practice. The only specific feedback I've seen is from this thread (//forum.darkspyro.net/spyro/viewposts.php?topic=133523), where McMurderpaws offered this opinion on ninja characters: Quote: McMurderpaws
No-one else in that thread has given any real feedback on how their class/element combinations have turned out. Quote: kaosmumishot
Well, different parts and gear can increase your speed and other stats. There's the Ninja Teleport ability, which is described as a dash move. Fire, air, magic, tech and light all seem to have dash-like moves. Some do damage; others don't. |

Swashbucklers do this thing where they just zip straight to any nearby enemy when the standard melee attack is pressed. It makes them go through a line of bad guys absurdly fast. They're definitely overpowered compared to other classes in their first few character levels, but the rest of the classes feel like they even out once they start unlocking their other powers. I've also found that Magic Ninjas are a little overpowered if you unlock their Sensei Secret Technique, Knife Storm, and pair it with Magic's Time Bubble power... or any other power that causes enemies to be stuck or slowed in a specific area; Dark's Black Hole might be equally good, but since that element already has a Ninja Sensei, I didn't try it. Basically, you fire off Time Bubble and then immediately fire off Knife Storm, and an entire crowd of baddies gets stuck and dies in seconds, and it gets even better when you buy the powers' upgrades. |

Water's wave attack has the Imaginator dash in a straight line, along with the water. Earth's burrowing attack functions like Dark Mist, increasing speed while underground. So, 8 of the 10 Elements have dashing/speed-increasing elemental attacks.

Phoenix Crystal is the best unreleased Crystal. Skylanders Academy Season 2 was an improvement. I don't know what to think of Skylanders' future. |

If anyone is planning to try and get one of each creation crystal without duplicates (other than those found in starter/adventure packs), my strategy for Wave 1/2 was to buy 8 of the available 14 single packs.
The 8-pack of creation crystals that is suppose to be coming in Wave 3 has the other 6 single packs from wave 1/2, plus 2 new crystals. The 8 wave 1/2 crystals are (using names from Crash10's crystal creation molds topic): Air Wings Life Spider Light Runes Magic Tent Magic Handles Undead Handles Undead Spikes Water Shards 8-pack will contain: Dark Tent Earth Shards Life Acorn Light Spikes Magic Spider Tech Generator Undead Spider Water Blocks

My fire swashbuckler kicks major butt!!! I also like my undead quickshot. Not a huge fan of my light knight or my dark sentinel. I also have a life smasher, but he's a beast!
