Phoenix Crystal is the best unreleased Crystal.
Skylanders Academy Season 2 was an improvement.
I don't know what to think of Skylanders' future.

What path does everybody recommend for Ambush? I like the sound of amplifying all his combos, but the giant bamboo tree sounds powerful.

I'm not sure which path for Chopscotch. I'm leaning towards the "Line" path, but the top one is said to be really strong.
Going with the scarab path for Goldy, but I don't know if I should maybe take the other.

The top path is a must.

Fully charged axe slam? 584 damage.

Neo Cortex is very fun with the path recommended by Gowbuzzer. I think this one is an easy choice.

Combining Mines, N. Tropy staff, bolts and blaster fracture makes the action look like a cartoo firework !
It is also the downside of it: you sometimes take damages just because you do not even see enemies ans there attacks.

The video for the combo path didn't really show much of the dash attack, not sure whether it was not good or you just forgot about it Buuzer?
The bottom path has the healing ability but the charge time for the supernova storm thing is pretty long.

Can anyone help any further with a recommendation?

Hood Sickles top path is no doubt the best one. I purchased the first two upgrades on it and hes an insane BEAST now.

If you like combos, then go with the Top Path for Aurora, but I've seen the bottom path and she is wild on it, so that's my suggestion.

I don't remember but the dash doesn't even attack the enemies, as you can see. Very glitched, hope they fix in the next game. The bottom path has all these potential, of course it's the best path.

Pit Boss is in Wave 3, and I'm assuming it'll be coming out around Christmas due to the Chompy Mage variant.

I consider Ember's Top Path better. The healing thing on the bottom is useless since she has to be close to the explosion which is a ranged attack. I also really like combos and the fact that you do more damage on lower health. The only good upgrade on the bottom path is the one where you can shoot multiple meteors, but that's it.

Stellar Blast, my Magic Quickshot, has Master Marksman, the Third Elemental attck where you make a force field that throws enemies away and they get shortly some damage afterwards and the Death Blossom. She's really fast and agile and can keep the enemies at bay, probably one of my strongest Imaginators.

Agree with everything accept Crash. His top path is definitely more useful IMHO. I can lay down crates and still spin them in a stronger attack.

Top Path for Goldy. The scarabs do a bunch of damage and the big one can take out a horde of enemies when fully charged. The bottom one just gives you more projectiles to shoot while you can't.

I only have Starcast at the moment, I prefer the Top Path. The decoys on the bottom one don't seem to shoot always, which makes it useless.

I want to make a version of Reaper from Overwatch in this, but I don't know if I should get a Dark Crystal(When it finally releases outside of the Dark Edition) so I can use the Dark Mist power, or an Undead Crystal for the Soul Stealer one. I'm going to make him a Quickshot, so which one would you recommend I go for?

You'll have to reset Crash. After trying both paths, the top (spin) path is more useful. To me the bottom path only really adds a move to drop some crates at the same time, but you can drop crates quickly anyway.

The other bottom path upgrades didn't even seem noticaly different when I tried them. The tornado spin move is too much fun to give up.
