I'm back and I've beaten the game, so I will make a review later. In the meantime, anyone else who wants to share their thoughts can do so in this topic. Oh and obvious spoilers are obvious just in case.

Thank you CMB for pointing out the one review that is way more negative than the rest

He's always looking for new ways to show off his negativity on the Skylanders franchise. Wonder what negativity he has in store next year? Copy a negative review over a game he believes will end the series? Or complain about microtransactions for the upteenth time~?

The critics are not that importent, the opinions that matters are the ones of the players and so far both the players and most of the critics gave positive reviews.

So, there's a shop option I ignore when I open up my chests. Whoptie do. This entire franchise is nothing more than a marketing machine for buying more toys. The reviewer is apparently new to it all. Personally, this has crept in to many games so much that it's the norm rather than the exception, and as a "legacy" gamer I'm a bit distraught by it all. At the same time, games aren't getting CHEAPER to make. Something's gonna give eventually.

Reviews in my opinion are fair....7 sounds about right. Game is not perfect, has some redundant tropes it continues to use over and over again, but it's a solid adventuring/platform game. It's not going to write history (it did that 6 years ago).

And just because they don't like the story doesn't make the entire game bad. If ya read the comments fully they say the loved the game minus it's story. You gotta stop lying to make it seem like you're right, cuz you're wrong. They love the game, man! The story is just weak.

Yeah I like how you purposely ignored that they also love the game despite the story being a little weak. Keep on finding more excuses and twisting words to boost your own ego there, tiger. You'll get there someday.

Critics are nice, because they tend to give you an idea of what you are getting. Don't take them as the definitive word, but it definitely helps if you want some information on how a game turned out.

The main problem with IGN is their review assignments. They often give games for review to people that simply do not like that type of game much. I guess they get overloaded and divide them up on who is available, but if someone doesn't really enjoy a type of game they need to give it to someone else. For example, I'm not a fan of sports games, I would be terrible at reviewing them. I don't mean give it to someone that will rubber stamp a good grade on it, just someone that can be more objective.

They do this with TV shows as well. The guy they have reviewing Gotham absolutely hates the show, and has stated so many, many times (like in every review). Everytime he complains about the show because it isn't what he wants out of it.
