Due to my shortage of money this year, I have to rely heavily on sales that will come up, so what I am hoping for this year is a B1G1 Free sale around Black Friday. I know it's a bit early to speclate, but what does everyone think are the chances that Imaginators will have this type of thing?

I don't know about a BOGO sale specifically but I'm sure there'll be deep discounts on the game itself as well as figures and crystals around black friday and also post-holidays.

BOGO free will definitely eventually happen, though more likely around March vs Black Friday.

it depends how well it sells. If it sells well then id say around xmas season. If it sells poorly then it maybe alot sooner and more so of it.

I'm not sure this time. Quote: weebbby
Quantities seem to be lower, so I suspect the lack of launch sales means they aren't making as much and therefore expect to sell them at full retail. Just a gut feeling I'm having after today's events. |

And as a side effect, I wouldn't sit around waiting for a great deal on things if you really want them. I saw very few people looking for these today. Stores are leery of having to clearance them again, they may not do lots of re-orders - especially since they seem to be able to order cases by figure. |

I am not in a position where I can just buy things whenever I want; money was tight this year. When I get a job in early 2017 maybe that could happen, but not now with how my life is right now. There is always a sale for Black Friday for Skylanders, and this year shouldn’t be any different. It might not be B1G1 Free, but at least it will be better than buying at full retail.

I don't foresee any Black Friday sales that would really be much better than Gamer's Club Unlocked or launch Amazon Prime prices. TRU would have to do BOGO50 to be cheaper than GCU, and that is only if TRU doesn't mark the figures back up to "normal" TRU prices at some point. And since they didn't do BOGO40 or BOGO50 at launch, nor midnight release or early opening, I doubt their sales, even for Black Friday, are going to differ much from this week. I could see the starter pack being on sale for $50, but even that is only $10 less than GCU.

That's fine, there is nothing wrong with focusing on priorities, after all they are toys. I was mainly referring to if you had the desire to collect them all - getting some later might not be easy or cheap. Like back with Thrillipede, some waited for in store/deals and missed their opportunity. I'm just saying don't expect them to sit around forever waiting for clearance/big deals if you want to collect, because then you might miss some. If you are fine with waiting, I'm sure many will stick around until sales pop up - and based on the apparent lack of interest on release day, those sales might come sooner than usual. Personally, I'd think it might be a good idea to pick some of your favorites, the ones you know you want on Target's Cartwheel 20% off + RedCard or Best Buy GCU, then hold off on the others and see what happens. |

I'm in agreement here about stock quantities. Target barely had any and I doubt they'll restock much. It felt like SuperChargers. Toys R Us had a few, but they didn't go overboard either, it was drastically lower than years prior. I didn't check elsewhere, but it makes sense to keep quantities low to keep value high. In theory they shouldn't have to do deep SuperChargers style discounts again but stuff like off and on 20% off sales is a bit historic for the franchise, so I believe those will happen again and will be the norm in a month or so. Honestly I'd be more focused on wave four and five, as I'm getting a strong Thrillipede vibe where I doubt they'll even hit the stores. Wave one and two are always easier to get and I wouldn't worry at all if you didn't get any this week.
Did anyone else notice the lack of product placement at their TRU? They usually have a giant display right in front of the store for the newest Skylander game with a sea of figures. This year, it was just a small section in the video game section with no fanfare at all and most of the stock behind the counter for them to put out whenever they sold some figures. It really depressed me and it was a one of the many reasons why I didn't buy the game as I took it as a very bad sign that the game wasn't all that and probably really sucked this year. The other reason is that I did buy a create a character online but I really want to have her before actually playing the game. No sense paying full price when she won't arrive for another 4 to 6 weeks. I probably won't want to touch the game after two weeks of steady play anyway. This is exactly what had happened with Splat, except SuperChargers was so bad that I just couldn't bare to replay it just for her.
