I just called all three of the Best Buys in my area, two of them don't have ANY figures for Imaginators at all, only starter packs, and the one store that does have figures, does not have Steel Plated Hood Sickle. Does anyone here work at a Best Buy, or have any further info about this? It's bad enough they don't have any figures on the web site, but the stores having nothing at all, either? Not even their own exclusive...

Well with that I guess I can officially consider living next to one not great. I was excited since at any point I had the money and will to go, I could go, buy something, and be back before the screen even dims.


That's pretty bad nevertheless. I mean, come on Best Buy, get your stuff together. (Or at all)

I used to work at Best Buy and I can tell you that the reason they have 'nothing' in terms of these figures is they're not registered in the retail-end system yet. The starter packs show up because they're preorderable, but nothing else can be preordered at Best Buy so any searches in the system for other figures would come up with nothing.

If you check with them tomorrow, when the game's actually released and all the figures are stocked and in the system properly, they'll be able to give you proper stock numbers.

I'm sure the figures are all just boxed up in their storage room, and anyone you speak to on the phone is generally not going to be aware of that since it's inventory's job to know when things like that arrive and get put on shelves.

The manager in charge of gaming has to order things... that's my understanding. If they decide not to order it, the store will not get it.

In this case, I asked all three stores to check the stock room/warehouse specifically. All three did so. Two of the stores had nothing but starter packs, and the biggest of the three did have figures in his warehouse, but no Steel Plated Hood Sickle. I know what I am doing in terms of trying to get the information I am looking for. I specifically told all three employees that the stock wouldn't be on the floor, and there are no listings on the web site, so I was asking them to look in the warehouse, first hand.

That's pretty weird, then! It's entirely possible they're going to get the shipments in for the figures tonight, I suppose. I'd just check with them again tomorrow either way.

I will pop in, because I will be in the area anyway hitting the other stores, but the employee told me they don't get shipments overnight on Saturdays, or on Sundays, so the chances of them miraculously showing up seem pretty slim. It's pretty ridiculous. Every major retail chain should have like 14 boxes of figures, and piles of Imaginite Crystals, yet two different Best Buys have none, that is weird.

This. Luckily, Imaginators are a much more compelling gimmick than cars. I'm sure kids will gravitate to Imaginators more than Superchargers and the franchise gets that kickstart it needs to stay relevant again.

Still, it's a scumbag move on Best Buy's part to just not stock a product on release day. Especially when you have a friggin exclusive that collectors need

Yeah, I'm not sure how Activision plans on selling them this year if retail doesn't pony up. TRU is their flagship store but this year EVERYONE is giving Skylanders the cold sholder. Not good. I guess if people start demanding/buying it maybe they'll kick it out.

last year they didnt have figures at launch on the shelves, had to make them go to the back and pick out the figures I wanted.

Yeah its odd and a bit distressing that no US retailer has any Creation Crystals, Adventure Packs, Chests, etc other than Starter Packs for pre order.

Well this sucks... People may call him ugly and barf green, but Steel plated hood sickle was one of my most wanted figures.

Well, for anyone reading this, someone on the reddit just informed me that it seems no Best Buy has gotten Steel Plated Hood Sickle yet. There appears to be a delay in shipping or manufacturing, or something.

well i do work at best buy but i know nothing of when we get products in, im over in geek squad so i never see stuff in the back room but talking to a few people that work back there they had all the figures for a few days but cant open them until the day of. its my day off tomorrow but im going to swing by anyways and see what we actually got it.

Best Buy's website is still not showing any figures or crystals available for sale or in-store pickup, which is generally a bad sign. Should have shown up by now if they were going to have it today.

Going to check in-store after it opens in a few hours since the local BB is basically right next to Target (and they're doing a 20% off sale for Senseis and Crystals which basically matches GCU...) but don't have my hopes up.

They were rolling them out when I went there after TRU to pick up my Crash Starter around 11am. My Kaos arrived by mail yesterday. While I was there I found a chase purple/crystal Barbella.

No one around seems to have the three pack of the crystals, it seems to be out of stock on Amazon right now as well ...

Saw a triple pack at GameStop.

Just got back from Best Buy. They had four Sensei figures out on the shelves and a lot of empty space where things hadn't been set up yet. Apparently people had been buying the figures too quickly for them to set up after the store opened so they were selling them directly out of the shipping boxes at the register, lol

No creation crystals at that location yet, and oddly enough no villain figures other than the Steel Plated exclusive dude. Not sure why. Was going to pick up Dr. Crankcase but got Ember instead. I'll get Crankcase next time I guess!

TRU only had Wave 1 crystals, Best Buy had "most" of the Wave 2 crystals. No one showing up at either location and I STILL had to go to multiple stores to get MOST of the stuff....again just hunting crystals....both locations lost out on figures b/c of Amazon being on the ball.

Clear to me that the stores are holding back on what people want the most right now, which are the crystals. Activision can hang up sales this game if the stores aren't going to stock crystals in decent counts. At least they're learning by not sending an army of fire creation crystals since they are in the starter pack.

My BB didn't have anything out. I asked about Imaginators and they were clueless. Did not get the exclusive Hood Sickle.

Just went to my BB to pick up my Crash pre-order and apparently none of the stores around here (Austin) got any in stock, so I'm going to TRU to pick one up instead. Only bonus was that I still got my Kaos figure for free.

Went to the local Best Buy. Had the starter packs out, but I'm told they had those out earlier this week. Asked about figures and after about six hours they rolled out a cart with Sensi figures and Adventure packs. No Crystals (didn't need) or their exclusive. :/

Only think I didn't find today that I planned to get. :(

My first Best Buy had nothing out when I got there, and brought out the stock when I asked. They had about 20-30 items, TOTAL. Maybe 10-15 figures, and 10-15 crystals, they did have a few Steel Plated Hood Sickles. The Target I went to had two starter packs, total, no figures, no crystals, and just chests. Seriously. Second Best Buy had everything out, did have wave 2 crystals, and of note, had Kaos on the pegs, marked $49.99, which I did have them check at the register, and it did show that price. My first TRU had only wave 1 stuff, but my second TRU had the wave 2 crystals, so I did end up getting all 14 unique single pack crystals. Also of note, the second TRU had a water trap from Trap Team I have never seen, it is the winged orb trap, but translucent instead of blue. I own every trap except the yawns, and I have never seen this trap or heard of it's existence.

Did all my shopping, and decided to check Best Buy before going home... They didn't have any space for Imaginators, at all. I spotted a flatbed cart with Skylanders boxes stacked on it (quite a mess) and parked behind the counter with nobody around. I was unimpressed, so I just left it alone. This was around noon, so I guess they're just slow.

The only Skylander I've gotten from there is Astroblast

They are good for the first couple of waves at least, and if you have Gamer's Club, it's worth it.

I've never had problems with Best Buy before, I usually get my Skylanders through them because of the Gamer's Club discount (20% off, stacks with other sales) so I'm sure they'll get things stocked up properly within the week. It's a weird launch for sure though.

The thing ilike about bestbuy with skylanders and infinity that by mistake put them in cheap price hangers that how I got my skylanders under 3 dollars

My Bestbuy had maybe 15 figures...no crystals...and only one steel plated hood sickle! Luckily I got him ....employee had to go to the back and get them out....not even a starter pack on the store floor!

Can someone post the SKU or UPC for Steel Plated Hood Sickle?

No Imaginators stuff out at my local BB, so we had to ask and they brought us out a SPHS figure. Had the same experience at one Target where nothing was out and had to ask. Second Target had everything out. My TRU had everything out and was actively re-stocking as stuff was purchased.

Can't wait for AMZ arrivals tomorrow to play!

just got all my stuff, went to the bestbuy i work at, no crystals but plenty of figure and like 5 or 6 plated hoodsickles.

My best buy has like 30/35 of the SPHS it's weird.

Went to best buy to pick up my preordered crash edition and they also said they didn't have any in this area at all. I ended up canceling my order and just bought the regular starter. They sent my Kaos at least but still, I thought the point of a preordered was so they knew how many to order and all? Geez!

I'm not a huge fan of the show, but I always think of this scene when a retailer messes up a preorder.

So I put $95 of store credit down on my Crash starter (I would have just bought it at TRU if I din't get it basically free here), and I got an email saying that they don't have any at the store I ordered, and there's exactly zero in the entire city. There's also been no SPHS. Needless to say I'm pissed that I payed 95% of my order ahead of time, and now they won't give me my order. And even if I get the store credit back, it will probably expire before I use it, because I never buy from best buy because they really suck (as they've just proven).

My BB didn't get the Crash starter or Kaos so I cancelled my preorder as well. Same situation at Gamestop too. I preordered at two places in case one failed, and they both failed to deliver.

I ended up just walking into TRU and getting everything there.

My Best Buy didn't have my Crash edition either and after to talking with them and a cancellation of the pre-order, they allowed me to keep the Kaos figure for my troubles. I went ahead and jumped on an order of the Crash edition from Amazon with the 20% Prime discount and it should be here by Wednesday. I did pick up 3 more figures and a 3 pack of crystals from Best Buy. So, when the set comes, I will have 8 figures and 4 crystals to start off with. The rest will likely have to wait for a really good sale. And that is with the 20% I already get off for GCU. I have buying all of this stuff upfront just to see people get it a month or two later for half price with good sales. Not this time CrActivision!!!!

I think Best Buy only got something like 2 crystals of each element. It doesn't last long!

I am going to guess bestbuy.com will have Steel Plated Hood sickle and maybe the crystals up tomorrow.

I found one thing odd that sometime last week they had the standard senseis and villains up for preorder one night but an hour later they took them off. But of the online sites they are the last to the finish. They are usually the first to allow preorders.

I was able to reserve and pickup an imaginator at my Best Buy in Saskatoon, Canada, but they didn't have any game or figures out anywhere in the store.
And the website is showing items in stock at my local store.

My day ended up getting worse. The Gamestop at which I had preordered and completely paid off the Dark Edition only got ONE of them, despite them having three preorders for them. So, no game. When I ordered the Crash Edition from Best Buy, I set it for ship to home instead of pick up, so that won't arrive until tomorrow. On top of all of that, both the Amazon 8-pack and the Amazon 5-pack were supposed to be here today, and neither showed up. So, all said and done, I have 4 Skylanders and 15 creation crystals, and no games in which to play them.

Oh dude, that sucks... How do you only order one 1 Dark Edition?

They said they had three preorders, but one of them had been placed just Friday. So, they should have gotten at least two, as both myself and the other customer had both paid off the preorder. But, nope. They got one, and the other customer was there when they opened. Meanwhile, I forgot to go there while I was in that city, and drove three cities away to another Best Buy before I remembered, so imagine(ate) my further frustration when I drove all the way back there, a city out of my way from home, only to find out I have no game to pick up. This has been, by far, my worst launch day for Skylanders, ever.
