The Kickstarter for Lightseekers is up: https://www.kickstarter.com/pr...ers/description and at 50% funded. I think that the this might not be a bad thing. As the competition will make sure that Activision will have to be on the ball.

I myself am a big toys to life fan, Starting with SSA, Pokémon rumble U, former Disney infinity, and Amiibo. I plan to get Imaginaters (have most of the stuff pre-orderd already), but also plan to try Lightseekers. If you look Lightseekers has already done some of the things people have wanted from skylanders and they are doing it from the start. I have to say this will be an interesting year for toys to light as it lost a competitor (Disney Infinity) but my gain a New more advanced one (Lightseekers).

I want to know what your thoughts on this are? Will it make Activision step up?

It's an indie game and free-to-play without toys. Not really competition, it's not even the 100% same genre since it has a lot of MOBA elements.

True, but it may end up taking self space in the Toys to life section. They do have plans to sell the toys in stores.

...It's not indie.

The 10th word the man says is "we're an indie game studio." Looks like this one game does a lot of what Skylanders has done with Battlecast and introduce battle elements of the physical figure with weapons to emulate a TTL experience. It doesn't look shabby. I think I'm going to support it.

It's good, but I mean it's too distinct. They're an indie studio being supported by a toy producer, but look at their kickstarter - from gameplay to how figures are used to minigames are all different. For example, you don't buy specific heroes(those seem to be cards), you buy species and they each have their own name when scanned in.

They are an indie company (with some experienced developers tho, some of there Devs worked on Runescape in the past). They do have the backing of a well know toy company to make the toys tho (Tomy). I think it looks great and have backed it myself for $65. I can't wait to play this and skylanders.

I personally can't wait for this to come out. I haven't backed it yet, but I will once Skylanders Imaginators fever has passed a week from now.

It's sad isn't it? We talk about the next game for 8 months, play it on average for a week to a month. I'm missing my quest grinding days in Giants....at least I loaded the game up for quite a while doing that.

I've already backed it, can't wait smilie

This one seems like it'll go somewhere despite being indie(ish). What happened to Infinite Arms, that just went dead quiet?

It bothers me that they say the action figures are highly-articulated, but it looks like they went for the bare minimum :u

The game sounds really neat, I hope it's not too ambitious for them.

Ok, this game it's in my radar now, and I'll porbably go with a small support.

They don't mention the platforms...
