Spyro's Adventure -
Right: Good story length.
Wrong: Difficult to find a lot of the characters.

Giants -
Right: Easy to find the characters and a good roster size.
Wrong: Story was too short.

Swap Force -
Right: Lengthy story and lots of things to do after beating the game. Also had some great characters.
Wrong: The roster was a bit too big and some characters were really hard to find.

Trap Team -
Right: A fun story and a really cool concept.
Wrong: WAY too big of a roster that was so big and not actually releasing their last three products.

SuperChargers -
Right: Good story length, fun story, and stuff to do after beating the game. Good roster size and great characters, as well as really cool Guest Stars.
Wrong: Really buggy and not releasing Thrillipede.

Imaginators -
Right: Amazing concept, great sized roster, big story, KAOS AND VILLAIN FIGURES and absolutely fantastic Guest Stars.
Wrong: This may sound like I'm trying to idealize this game, but nothing, really. I know there are things that people have had problems with, but none of that really effects me.

SSA:
-Large variety of locales
-NPCs used sparingly
-Usage of enviroment(water,lava,etc)

-Outdated graphics and physics engine
-Annoying SFX
-Pointless as of SC

SG:
-Improves everything about SSA
-Quality of life tweaks(better SFX, faster transitions, cleaner UI)
-Good enemy and level design
-Skystones
-Small unique lineup
-Good story progression

-Forced and not multiplayer Skystones
-Graphics still outdated
-Worse portal despite identical to SSA
-Arkeyan Duelists exist here

SF:
-Length
-idk, didn't play it

-Childish af
-Character assassination
-Breaks TFB's canon to this day
-Poor skylander design
-Damage sponges =\= difficulty

-Cast almost as good as TT
-Extended lines, giving Skylanders more personalities
-on top of that, tiring NPCs given less of a role in favor of Skylanders
-Beautiful levels once again
-Character creator with amazing range for sizes, coloring and outfits
-Overworld hnnng
-glorious replay value and level variety
-villain figures

-Killing magic items
-Unresettable crystals
-Class restrictions
-Short story mode
-no quadrupeds other than Mysticat

- Length
- Diversity of content in game
- Lots of after game options
- Ability to compete with others score wise
- Introduction of Portal Master Rank
- Jump!
- Swap Force characters arguably best gimmick

Cons
- Introduction of "nerfed" previous characters
- Length (yes it's both a pro and a con)
- Story

Spyro's Adventure:
Right: Good story length and only 1 core of each element required to complete the game.

Wrong: Not much to do after the main story other than adventure packs and heroic challenges which require a large to full roster to unlock more of.

Giants:
Right: More to do outside the main story such as arena challenges, small roster, only one Giant and any one Skylander (including cores which you may already have if you own SSA) of each element required to complete the game.

Wrong: Not enough chapters, adventure pack chapters are the same as in SSA and the Giants don't do much.

Swap Force:
Right: Lots to do outside the main story, nice graphics, ability to jump without bounce pads and Tessa.

Wrong: Roster too big, need one Swap Skylander of each ability to complete the game, cutscenes used as loading screens, some areas reuse music from the last two games, "Welcome back to Woodburrow, Hero of Cloudbreak Island."

Trap Team:
Right: Lots of cores that I like, story isn't too short and trappable villains is a good feature.

Wrong: Roster too big, need one £15 gimmicklander of each element to beat the game because only they can open elemental gates making cores completely useless, some of the villains are unoriginal and just palette swaps of each other design wise, no Magic Doom Raider, Flynn is even more self centered and annoying and player vs player has been taken out.

Superchargers:
Right: Only three vehicles (one of each type) required to complete the game, new movesets for returning Skylanders.

Wrong: Not sure as I've never played the game.

Imaginators:
Right: Crash Bandicoot, character creation, Spyro appears as an NPC, villain figures.

Wrong: Non resettable creation crystals, I don't find many of the new characters appealing, no Chef Pepper Jack figure.

+ Has some of the most memorable characters
+ Really good environments
- Block pushing puzzles everywhere
- Yeah it's really outdated at this point
- Really boring NPCs

Giants:
+ Basically the first game but better
+ Skystones
- Really boring gimmick
- Too short
- Kinda just a crap final boss fight in all honesty

SF:
+ So much content
+ Fun gimmick
+ Best level design in the series
+ Best final boss no matter what y'all say
- Pretty mediocre story (Not that it isn't fun)
- Mostly mediocre SKylanders
- None of the NPCs besides Tessa and Sharpfin were good

TT:
+ Villains!
+ Pain-Yatta
+ Really varied levels
+ Doom Challenges
- Buggy af
- Barely any post-game content
- A lot of the villains aren't really that fun to play
- Most of the Trap Masters are kinda boring IMO

SC:
+ Best story
+ Really beautiful looking
+ Some of my favorite Skylanders
+ I actually do like a lot of the vehicle designs

EDIT note: I won't get into the rosters as I like pretty much all the characters and they all play very differently

Spyro's Adventure:

+great introduction to the toys to life genre
+exploration elements
-hard to find characters
-lame boss fights
-Pirate Seas adventure pack more focused on lame card games than pirates

Giants:
+no real need to buy all the new stuff if you didn't want to
+entertaining story
+introducing arena challenges
-introduced Skystones ( I despise that minigame in any form... )
-needed reposes of SA characters to unlock Heroic Challenges
-have to beat the game to unlock nightmare, and start a 2nd save just to play it
-don't get hit challenges in arenas

Swap Force:
+Kaos's Mom & Mesmeralda
+swap gimmick
+insane amount of post game
+can simply replay every stage on nightmare to get credit for it
+introduced Portal Master ranks
+so much post game content
+no Skystones
-Platinum Chest on the collection screen even though it will NEVER register
-still have to unlock nightmare by beating the game first
-Rufus....
-a few hard to find characters
-Swap Zones are very hit or miss
-don't get hit challenges in arenas
-3 starring the bosses in story mode requires never getting hit or switching

Trap Team:

Spyro's Adventure
Good:
+Playable characters all stand out from one another, design-wise, moveset-wise, and stat-wise.
+Environmental differences which different Skylander abilities work differently on
+Story Scrolls which expand the lore rather than give thinly-veiled hints or show how narcissistic Flynn is
Bad:
-Gameplay is meh
-Huge differences between Wii and HD Console versions
-Heroic Challenges are either boring or frustrating
-Adventure Packs are glitchy in HD Console versions

Giants
Good:
+No additional purchases required if you have all elements from SSA
+Autogyro Adventure is really fun when driving the autogyro
+I really like some of the NPCs (Machine Ghost, Drill-X mainly)

Bad:
-Gameplay isn't improved
-Nightmare mode? How about your-melee-characters-are-useless mode?
-Giants are slow and annoying to play as. Especially in Nightmare Mode.

Swap Force
Good:
+Combat greatly improved, especially for melee characters
+Nightmare Mode is actually sort-of fun
+Swap Zones are fun
+Normal Elemental Gates still exist and you can access all of them, even the Dual-Elemental ones, using older characters
+Lots to do in the post-game
+Swapping mechanic is fun and creative
+Platforming
+Some block puzzles that are not "push it in the only direction you can push it as far as you can push it."
+Long levels

Bad:
-Cutscenes being used as loading screens
-What's-his-name greeting you lengthily every time you play
-All-male, all-humanoid Swap Force and most cores are humanoids with weapons

Trap Team
Good:
+Villains all have unique personalities, making it fun to capture and use them
+Minis are adorable
+The return of good cores

Bad:
-Combat's back to how it was in Giants
-Glitchy
-Traptanium Elemental Gates when it's clear they weren't designed that way (collectables that are normally in Starter Pack gates are in Life Gates, which there is a Life Core in the Starter Pack but he's a Core, not a Trap Master)
-Light and Dark characters and Adventure Packs were poorly handled and really hard to come by
-I still don't have some of my favorites because of price

Superchargers
Good:
+Back to Swap Force combat
+Vehicles are fun to play as
+Only need two additional vehicles to essentially 100%
+Ability to max out Portal Master Power no matter how big or small your collection is
+Portal Master Powers sometimes being pretty neat
+Because it wasn't popular, deals galore on Characters and Vehicles

Bad:
-Cutscene loading screens... again
-Empty Online Racing Mode
-All biped cast of playable characters

Imaginators
Good:
+Returning Villains
+Spyro has lines
+Crash Bandicoot level

Bad:
-Unresettable Crystals
-Can't make SSA-style dragon Imaginators
-Customization options depend on character class
-All humanoid/biped cast of playable characters

Spyro's Adventure:
Good
• Fun Story
• Good Level Lenght
• The usage of environment
Bad
• There isn't any charcter devolpment and not that much to do with spyro although his name is in the title.

Giants :
• Good roster and most of the reposes were good.
• Bad : It's not that special...it's Like a cheap knockoff spyro's adventure

Swap force :
Good :
• Combat and the way they changed the gameplay
• Side modes
• The adventure packs were so good and polished and they felt special
• Servival challenges
• They Map
• You can fight bosses without repeating the whole level and all of them were great
Bad :
The roster is too big and we didn't need that many charcters....most of them were humanoid and got ignored later.

Trap Team
Good :
• The Gimmick
• The story was good
• Most of the boss fights were good
• Some of the villans were so unique and fun
• introducing light and dark
• Level length
• Kaos Doom Challenges

Bad :
• Some of the Villans were very generic
• The roster was too big and most of the charcters were boring
• The graphics weren't as good as swap force's graphics
• I Couldn't fight bosses without going through the whole level
• The adventure packs had so much potential but they seemed very rush...I couldn't fight evilon and nightmare express was meeeh
• No PVP
• The variants looked bad...the legendaries were ugly and they had bad choices for the nitros.

Super chargers :
Good
• Nice Roster size
• I liked the re-imagined skylanders
• The story is the best in the franchise
• The online racing was cool
• The graphics are flawless
• The levels were unique
• I was able to race as my favorite Villains
• introducing guest stars...I don't have a Wii U but i still got them
• I was actually happy that we haven't gotten cores
• The super chargers quests....it was nice seeing skylanders talk to buzz
Bad :
• Driving during the story mode was very irritating
• most of the re-imagined skylanders have had some many reposes and some of them weren't that diffrent
• The final boss was disappointing
• Not many on feet boss fights
• Not many enemies
• Not much to do after beating the game

i would say online co-op in scc was a huge step forward, but its removed in imaginators, sadly so its a huge step backward. but i guess many didnt bother trying the online here since not many mention it. i enjoyed it a lot and it gave me months of re-plays of the game with people from darkspyro and others places.

My problem is that we had a lot of content removed for its inclusion, and online gameplay was a barren ghost place after the game's release in a month. If these obstacles can't be made better then I guess I'd rather not have online. If the inclusion of let's say online skystones is a lower barrier of entry such that other content can be included then I'd say that might be a better compromise. In my mind, Battlecast proved that they can do online content that can truly last and is engaging content...if something like that can be incorporated inside a game like Skylanders (more like a game within a game) that would be my dream state. I'd even be ok if they paid for this additional content through either additional DLC (digital or physical stuff)...but make it engaging and don't stiff us in the game itself.

+Swarm
+Ermit
+Cool final boss

-Short
-Not very graphically capable

Swap Force
+Good graphics

+Swapping was an amazing gimmick
+Post-Game

-Horrible story
-Overly generic male humanoid designs, a signature touch of V.V's style

Trap Team
+Return to form for the series' style.
+Buzz and Mags
+Light and Dark
+Villains were hilarious and fun for the most part
+Flynn was perfectly placed and actually funny

-Very buggy
-TfB obviously rushed some villains with their gameplay
-TfB apparently forgot what fits in each element
-WAAAAAAY too many characters (why were minis needed again???)
-Scattered wave releases (though they openly admitted the West Coast Port Strikes were partly to blame, kudos to them for actually saying something about it)

After giving it some thought

SSA

+A great introduction roaster (Especially the dragons)

+Revived a series that was starting to die.

+Good level layout.

+A lot of attention to detail.

+Memorable soundtrack.

+Heroic Challenges can be fun for the most part.

+Adventure packs were a great way for extra content.

-Annoying main cast (Except Eon and Kaos and Glumshanks)

-Out dated sound effects that sound off.

-Not to much diversity in terms of playable characters after the amount of games released.

-SCREW THE FREAKING ENEMY GOAL ON SOME LEVELS!

-Some Heroic Challenges are extremely unfair.

-Levels are WAY too short and half of them feel like filler.

-PVP is not single player.

SG

+Remodels added a lot to the roaster. It even completely made previous crappy characters unstoppable murdering machines.

+A great soundtrack.

+Level length is much better and the level concepts are extremely awesome.

+The games over world is fun ill be it small.

+Challenges are handled much better.

+Feat of strength was fun to watch and take part in.

+Vehicles were fun to use.

+Skystones were fun to play.

+The arenas added a lot to the game.

-Plays like SSA. So it to feels outdated.

-Giants don't really stand out.

-You can get damaged if you just enter as a skylander.

-No adventure packs.

-Story mode lacked in level amount.

-PVP is still not single player.

-Lacked a decent overall roaster.

SSF

+Great roaster.

+SWAP Force add a lot of diversity.

+A great soundtrack.

+A large amount of levels.

+Kaos's mother steals the show. Her mother son bond in a evil way was a joy to watch.

+Arenas and PVP are much better (Though I like SG PVP a inch more)

-Anyone except Kaos, Glumshanks, Kaos's Mom and Tessa were unmemorable and annoying.

-Levels drag WAY TOO LONG

-Wii version is absolute garbage (Guess what my first version of SSF was)

-The in game skylanders models look like horrifying zombies.

-Story was too dark and not fun.

STT

+Best Skylanders roaster with memorable characters.

+Introduced my skyfu, Echo.

+Minis, and Eon's elite are fun extras.

+Light and Dark fit perfectly in the roaster and add more diversity.

+Trap Masters weapons were fun to look at and use.

+Villains add more diversity as well as crystals.

+Introduced many iconic villains and NPC.

+Doom Raiders are the best skylanders villains ever.

+Best level line up

+Best soundtrack

+Best over world

+Doom challenges

-End game could've been better

SSC

+Vehicles are as fun to use as fun as collect. (I still drive my PB Gold Rusher around my bed sometimes)

+Racing is the PERFECT replacement for PVP. In fact, thats all I do in SSC now.

+Wii/ 3DS version was a fun distraction.

+Modding and coloring vehicles is fun.

+Boss Pursuit felt like STT in a racing game.

+Level ideas were unique.

+Online Co-op is simply put a dream come true.

-Levels dragged but at least check points made them alright.

-Zap still looks like a mutated zombie.

-Every character except Spitfire and High Volt (even previous skylanders) feels boring and nerfed (How dare they nerf my skyfu!)

-Some levels shouldn't be levels.

-Story is WAY too dark

-Hub world is extremely depressing.

-Story is way too short.

-Skystones sucks now

-End game is terrible

-Except for Spitfire and High Volt, every new character was boring.

-Gust stars sucked.

+ and-Soundtrack was good in racing but not in story.

SI

+A amazing skylanders roaster

+New guest stars that are amazing!

+Racing is back

+Levels are better looking.

+M.A.P. looks not only fun to explore but fun to look at.

+WE CAN CREATE SKYLANDERS!

+Villains returned and not only that, but the best ones (Except Hood Sickle)

+This game proves that Activision and TFB do listen to fans.

-Only 10 levels.

-Boss Pursuit is gone.

-No Luminous

-Online Co op is gone.

-Creation Crystals are not resettable (Donsen't bother me but it dose for everyone else)

-Ninjas are walking faces and Swahbucklers only have tails
