Order Of Battle Classes

We've had this topic a few times before, but I think that now we are less than 10 days away from the release we should talk about it one more time. I imagine that since we've seen a bit more of each class, some of our lists might have changed. Here's my list.

1. Sorcerer (I don't know why I love this class so much. I just do. It has the best Senseis and my best Imaginators in it. I literally have 7 Imaginators planned for this class already.)

2. Brawler (It may be basic, but I like it. It has good Senseis and has a fun yet simple playstyle. I only have three Imaginators planned for this class, but they are good ones that I look forward to creating.)

3. Bowslinger (My original favorite, this class has some of the best Senseis. Although I only have one Imaginator planned for this class, I really like him, and I think he'll be one of my favorites that I have made. I've always liked the idea of using a bow and arrow, and that's why I liked Flameslinger a lot in SA and Giants.)

4. Quickshot (I originally liked this one because Trigger Happy, my favorite Skylander, was the first Quickshot, but now I just really like the class for what it is. Tidepool and Krankcase are great, and I love the ideas for Imaginators I have in this class, like Bulletbeard and Zom-Bot.)

5. Sentinel (This class is interesting and that's why I like it. Ember and Barbella have a cool play style, and Hood Sickle is amazing because...well...he's Hood Sickle. I have two good Imaginator ideas for this class, Tri-Spike and Lion Heart, and I look forward to making them.)

6. Swashbuckler (I've certainly grown to like this class better over time, as well as the Senseis. Aurora looks like a lot of fun, Chain Reaction is one of my personal favorites this year, and Bad Juju looks like she's going to be wacky and cool to play as. My ideas for Imaginators in this class are pretty cool, and I looked forward to making them, especially Hydra Jr.)

7. Ninja (This class was once my second favorite, and it's not that I don't like it anymore, it's just that I've grown to like the other classes more. It has Tae Kwon Crow, who's great, and I really like Starcast and Boom Bloom. I also look forward to making some Imaginators in this class, like Chomp-Star and Brain Storm.)

8. Knight (Again, it's not that I don't like this class, it's just that I like the other classes more. Blaster-Tron is really cool, and so are Wild Storm and Ambush. I look forward to playing as all three of them, as well as making some of favorite Imaginators that are in this class: Sea Rex, Sir Hoodington, Sliceberg and Beowoof.)

9. Smasher (This class has some good Senseis, as well as Imaginator ideas, such as Hog Wild, Axman, Tiki Taboo and Night-King. I just don't like it as much as the other classes.)

10. Bazooker (While this class has two of my favorite Senseis, I have hardly any ideas for Imaginators in this class. I have Dino Hunter and Eye Shot, but I feel like the latter isn't really that great of an idea. However, I'm still excited to make the former, who will be my first Earth creation, and play as both Flarewolf and the Chompy-Mage.)

So, what's the order of Battle Classes for you?

1. Swashbuckler (Say what you want about the lack of legs, but I think the tail fits quite nicely with their attacks. The very moment I saw gameplay of a Swashbuckler Imaginator, I immediately fell in love with its sheer speed and precision. Also, Chain Reaction is my favorite Sensei, so that helps too.

2. Sorcerer (Sorcerers are just plain cool. I love how the Imaginators can float, it makes them look a lot more unique than a Smasher or Knight. I love just about every Sorcerer's gameplay, especially Golden Queen and Pit Boss.

3. Quickshot (I love rapid-fire attacks, and quickshots are right up my ally. They are a bit simple in gameplay, but they're also fun, which is what matters.)

4. Sentinel (These guys are really cool. They are a bit similar to Knights in terms of weaponry, but the fact that their staff is double-edged makes them pretty unique.)

5. Knight (I love melee characters in Skylanders, especially ones with swords.)

6. Smasher (These guys seem a bit slow, but their raw power makes up for it. Pain-yatta is also my second favorite Sensei!)

7. Brawler (Despite their simplicity, they seem pretty fun. Your Imaginator would have to be pretty powerful though, because the catch is that they're SUPER close ranged.)

8. Bazooker (They're cool, but with the size of that bazooka, they probably move and attack pretty slowly.)

9. Bowslinger (I like Bowslingers, but I've never been very good at using Skylanders with bows and arrows. Before their upgrades, their range is incredibly narrow with the one arrow they fire.)

10. Ninja (Attacks seem cool, but I just can't figure out what made TfB decide to remove their bodies altogether! It severely limits creativity, it looks horrible, and it just doesn't make sense at all! Where did they get the idea that Ninja = Bobblehead? Oh well, at least Starcast is really cool.

Do we know the capabilities of each of the classes yet, and are there any justifications of bonding a certain element to a certain battle class? That's the big thing I'm worried about....or is it all simply "artistic expression"?

We know MOST of their capabilities and plenty we know the descriptions of all moves, but some have very little footage. Also why I'm holding off on a list; we've only seen a few secret techniques in action so we're doing our judging based on the primary attack, which sure is important, but isn't the end of the damage syngery.

Why does there need to be justification for the elements? There's enough parts representing each element that you can basically have any class represent any element.

I am attempting to see if I can know, before I commit a battle class to my "one time use" creation crystal, if there are any inherent strengths in applying battle classes to a certain element. I am fairly confident that there is probably going to be no difference, but I don't want to be shut down on my inquiry until FACTS are KNOWN and UNDERSTOOD.

Thank you.

Oh, only if you want a specific attack. Like, for example, you might have no need for Brawler's uppercut if you're using a ranged elemental move. That said, as of now all elements seem to have options for various ranges and even buffs(seen in Dark) if you don't want an attack in the way of your weapon moves. Also as an example, Fire has a dash, area of effect, and two ranged; so there's always something to cover your class' weakness.

OK, so in other words, they've designed the game to avoid options that might make your character contradictory / less effective? Or at least allow you to tweak the attacks that might complement your class/element? Might be easier to see this on paper. Wow, first year I can actually see a guide actually being useful.

And just as they've created more and less effective characters, I'm suggesting we're all going to come to a similar conclusion when we mix / match. It should be interesting conversation, anyway. It kinda throws back to Swap Force when we were discussing capabilities of the halves...

Side note: The effective use of random enemy placement being in this game is a HUGE plus for replayability. It only took 3-4 games for it to sink it, but I hope this feature becomes mainstay.

Yup, you have plenty of space to tweak, the only thing you can't change is the soul gem(which is a separate button anyway so it can be even ignored if it's not good). A guide is really going to be missed since at least the descriptions could give some insight into what attack covers what, so we tried to get as much info as possible in the Battle Class wiki article even before the game is out. Missing upgrades because the figures were reset constantly,of course, but the basics are there for the classes shown proeminently on video; the rest will probably get added first things first once the editors get the game.

1. Sentinel - Been my favorite since the start. I love the concept of a dual sided weapon and they're attacks are super unique and fun.
2. Sorcerer - I love magic and staves and that's no different here. I love how they float too.
3. Ninja - Hate the small size, but love the attacks. Ninja Star traps and raining Ninja Stars, I just find it really cool. They also attack very quickly.
4. Quickshot - Quick ranged attacks are really fun. The gun designs are super unique and the secret techniques and stuff look awesome too.
5. Swashbuckler - The moment I saw gameplay, I loved them. They're quick sword swings and they're techniques look so awesome and I actually love the tails.
6. Smasher - Destruction. That is all. And big weapons. C:
7. Knight - I do think two swords are better then one, but Knight has some awesome sword designs, and I love the quick sword slashes.
8. Brawler - The Sensei attacks for Brawlers are really good, but the Imaginators seem kinda slow.
9. Bazooker - Large Bazookas are fun, but honestly, I don't find this class was really needed, but I could say that about a lot.
10. Bowslinger - Same reasoning as TrapShadowFan.

Knight - Always loved sword fighters. And Ambush, my favorite Sensei, is also a knight.
Sorcerer - Also always loved magic-based combat.
Sentinel - the duel sided weapons just seem to powerful and cool to me.
Bowslinger - probably stems from my love of the Legend of Zelda.
Brawler - punching things is always fun in games.
Swashbuckler - duel blades are awesome. The tails actually don't bother me much.
Smasher - destruction, as Luminous said.
Bazooker - not that needed, but I still find the gameplay fun.
Quickshot - never been a huge fan of guns
Ninja - originally one of my faves, but the lack of bodies ruined them for me. Love the senseis though.
