Because, no offense, they are kind of long and difficult to remember...

They're not long names though. They're names that fit the designs, so it should be easier to remember than assigning random letters to each. You can't tell me you can just look at a mold and say "Oh that's a J mold". That's just stupid. There's no way anyone's gonna remember meaningless variables assigned to each mold. There's names that actually fit the molds but no one seems to care.

Well, Helve Dodeca does seem harder to remember than Wings Egg...

Helve is the name of the one with handles, because that's a synonym for it and doesn't sound stupid. Dodeca is short for dodecahedron because that'd be too long a name, and what else would you describe it as? Also, it's Plume, not Wings.

You say "Plume", but going by popularity, "Wings" wins hands down.

I get that you like your own versions, I'm still using "Spearhead" to refer to the officially named "Captain's Hat" design of Traps (in my own documents). Because the design of Dream Piercer and Spark Spear are SO obviously based on a spearhead, and reflected in their individual names.

If we are to pin down the names the best would be putting it to a poll.

I think you really need to create a new topic poll for the crystal mold names or something for people to vote.

some names are obvious e.g. wings/feathers , runic etc..

but some of the molds dont have much defining features and arnt easy to describe so people will diagree on the names. You really need to get the majority of the community choice/opinion through polls rather then any one person just saying "USE MY NAMES!"

The reason I changed 'Wings' to 'Plume' was because wings is a plural, and it sounds stupid since we're referring to it in singular.

Is plume not obvious? Fine, if you see that incredibly simple word as complex, we could go 'feather' instead or something. Or even just 'wing' for all I care just don't make it plural. You may not care about grammar but a lot of people do. It'll annoy me and I'm sure other people to hell and back.

Well, I don't know what else we would call it. It looks royal. We could go and make every casing an adjective or something, and we could call it 'Royal' maybe.

See, this even proves the letters are inefficient. You got molds mixed up.

A- Winged
B- Runic
C- Dynamic maybe?
D- Spiky or Fanged
E- Royal or Regal
F- Plated
G- Handled
H- Crawly maybe?
I- Peaked maybe?
J- Nutty kind of works, maybe Arboreal? We might want to relate it to dendrology in general to make it work

It's not the molds I got mixed up. I just have a hard time differentiating G and J in English. Plus, it's past midnight, so I'm not exactly in peak mental condition.

Dynamic, Crawly and Peaked are good. And Nutty is a nice comic relief.

I also considered Regal before posting, just didn't want to change too much. But now that you're also suggesting it, I will say that I prefer that.

OUR TAKE ON THE CC DESCRIPTIONS:
Descriptions will change when we get CCs in hand for a better look at some of these crystals shapes.

CASES DESCRIPTIONS:

Acorn-Top Casing has a nubby Acorn like appearance with a single point at the top. Bottom Casing has nubby Acorn like appearance with pillars.

Fangs-Top Casing has a smooth top with beveled designs. Bottom Casing has 4 Fang like projections.

Handles-Top Casing has a raiden type hat. Bottom Casing has Handles on the left and right.

Pillars-Top Casing has gothic like pillar constructs. Bottom Casing has gothic like Pillar constructs.

Runes-Top Casing has Runes on a cloud like base. Bottom Casing has Runes on flat curved headstones.

Shields-Top Casing has flat, long shield like fixtures. Bottom Casing has flat, long Shield like fixtures.

Spikes Down-Top Casing has Bottom facing Spikes, horn/teeth like projections. Top Casing has Bottom facing Spikes, horn/teeth like projections.

Spikes Up-Top Casing has Spikes pointing up like a crown with a smooth top. Bottom Casing has Spikes pointing up on projections.

Tent-Top Casing has a singular Tent like spike in the middle with awning type projections. Bottom Casing has awning type projections.

Wings-Top Casing has a rounded top with some designs. Bottom Casing has Wings.

CRYSTAL DESCRIPTIONS:

Circle-Perfect spherical shape, a Circle.

Cluster-Crystal that is a bit rocky looking, like a Clustered uncut jewel.

Cube-Crystal looks like a Cube that is slanted at an angle.

Diamond-Crystal is the classic Diamond shape, upside down triangle.

Egg-Crystal looks Egg shaped.

Hexagon-Crystal looks like a Hexagon in 3D, like a Stop sign in 3D, the top and bottom are flat.

Icosahedron-Crystal looks similar to a hexagon except the top and bottom are pointed, like an Ico.

Oblong-Crystal looks like a stretched circle, an Oblong.

Pyramid-Crystal looks like a Pyramid slanted at an angle.

I'm asking because I've found out two of the molds I want are inside the 8 Pack and I won't buy it just for the Dark and Magic Crystals.

We don't really know the wave releases too well. I can say a little about the bundles, though.

The 8-Pack is supposedly Wave 2 or 3. Both 3-Packs in Wave 1 contain at least one matching Crystal, and it appears all of the 3-Pack Crystals we've seen are available as Singles. The Crystal included with Mysticat is the same as one of the Tri-Packs, but is also available separately.

Phoenix Crystal is the best unreleased Crystal.
Skylanders Academy Season 2 was an improvement.
I don't know what to think of Skylanders' future.

Just to follow up on nightmoon, here's a pic from eBay I found of all the singles packs that are probably in wave 1+2 ( or whatever's going on lol ) at launch.

Even crystals from the sensei combo packs and triple packs look like they're getting released individually which is nice. E.g. All 3 undead crystals seem to be available in singles despite their presence in the triple pack and Wolfgang combo pack.

So we might not actually have to make the usual complicated buying plan to make sure we don't buy more then what we need.

I call that progress lol

Thank God both the double pack crystals are also single right away. That makes the issue of buying just the crystal second hand gone. Out of all those there is 7 of the 10 crystals I plan to buy right off the bat. Just need the fire, dark, and tech now. (Was going with the set that includes the starter crystal, but that set only has like 2 crystals at launch, where as this has 7 as I stated).

Niiice, maybe this time it won't be hard to find a mold you want that's not 3x the cheapest mold. I held off on buying Air Snakes to the bitter end because Air Jughead was cheaper(so obviously it was going to get cheaper eventually,right?) and in the end I got none >:I

Definately going to keep an eye out for Undead Spider/Spikes Down used/second hand then.
