Shadowstorm got Imaginators early

Yeah, you might want to go back and check his thread below. Tons of spoilers so do so at your own peril, but as for character reveals it's juicy as apparently the Sensei Shrine cutscenes are unlocked from the start(possibly a bug but it's working now). Don't press him too much for stuff though, ShadowStorm already said they'll won't be giving too much away.

The result was epic. We finally got to show off characters move sets and answer people's questionsm. But seriously all credit goes to shadow storm for making this possible.

Technically all credit goes to the retailer who screwed up but Shadow Storm as well.

Bad news Everyone...Creation Crystals work INSIDE of the packaging...found out by and tested and confirmed by GM today 09.29.16 at an Oz Video Game Event. Why is this bad? Because Battle Classes are NOT Resettable therefore if someone returns it, you will be stuck with the returner's selected Battle Class. Thanks Activision.

SCENARIO:

1. Mike buys a Creation Crystal from a store and does not open it, but chooses a Battle Class.

2. Mike returns the Creation Crystal to the store, and since the package is not opened, the store puts the Creation Crystal back on the shelf.

3. Frank buys that same Creation Crystal from the store, assuming it is new because the package isn’t opened.

4. Frank places the Creation Crystal on his Portal and finds out that the Battle Class is already set for him.

5. Because Battle Classes are NOT RESETTABLE, Frank is now stuck with whatever Battle Class Mike chose.

I think (hope) that most people on DS won't do it, but I've seen some people on the fandom who are pretty spiteful, even adults, who'd definately pull this. If they get any ideas, we can say goodbye to testing figures inside the package.

While I will admit that it's a genuine concern... How many people do you really think will even want to do something like that?
The only people I can think of would be the ones spiteful against Skylanders itself, who chances are wouldn't have even bought the game to pull this off in the first place.

I'm guessing a handful of parents will return Crystals because "the crystals dont work".

I wish people would not bring up the resettable crystals every moment they got. It's getting old by now.

But its actually a pretty important issue with the game? I dont understand why you say its getting old. Its a problem that a lot of people have. Nobody wants to spend large amounts of money on more than 1 CC per element to get more element/battle class combinations

You make a fair point I don't think anyone in the community would go that far it seems unlikely but then again we don't know the full intentions of every person it's unpredictable I can think of certain people who could have fun with this flaw but again as you point out it's unlikely.


Honestly though add another problem to the creation crystal honestly these things are honestly not worth buying if there going to have to many hinders and exploits.

I'll probably have to check each crystal before I open the packages.

I see you guys point. I just get annoyed how that really seems to be the only thing I hear about them. Makes me really unmotivated to use them. I'm going to play it safe and wait till I get parts I want THEN make them. Problem solved. Besides, I'll probably only be using Dr. Krankcase, Chompie Mage, Wolfgang and Echo on my first run anyways.

It sucks but I also don't think the scenario will happen often.

I agree. As long as people are informed, nothing stupid will happen often. Besides, the game TELLS you TWICE that it is a permeant choice. I think even kids are swear of the class lock.

EDIT: Also for those complaining about buying new creation crystal packs with them already class selected, I have to ask, how many packaged Skylanders (Not preowned or used) had data already on them?

Oh boy- couldn't they have just done what amiibo does and put a foil sheet in the bottom of the box to prevent premature scanning?

It's kind of hard to talk about anything relating to the Imaginators that isn't in hypotheticals, due to how little we actually know about them.

Word of Advice: If your gonna return a Creation Crystal to a store or buy a used one, make sure it has a Battle Class sticker on it first.
