So, I posted this idea in General Discussion, but, considering all the news we got today, it was understandably swept up. Plus I figured this deserves it's own topic... Maybe.

So people seem to have pretty split opinions on the fact that Grave Clobber is both a Water element and a Brawler class, since we already have one that matches those in the form of King Pen, who comes in the starter pack. And because virtually every Starter Pack in the game comes with King Pen, I don't think they made this decision without a reason... Then I thought of this:

Remember that one display that showed a King Pen single pack? Well...

What if, later down the line, they release another Starter Pack? Not another hundred-dollar special edition though. Another seventy-five dollar one that still just comes with the game, portal, Fire Crystal, and Golden Queen, with the only difference being Grave Clobber instead of King Pen. A "villains only" Starter Pack, if you will. So people who wait until later to buy the game can choose between the penguin or the mummy. But just so no one feels left out, they'd also release this alongside the singles for both King Pen and Grave Clobber.

Probably not going to happen, but just thought I'd share this idea.

It would be cost prohibitive to package and market another starter down the line. (Not to mention unnecessary.)

While I agree with McMurderpaws, don't forget they also did Starter Pack Console bundles with new stuff like variants and extra figures. I could see that happening if, say, they had an NX release next year, or they start pushing a specific console hard other than PS4 for some reason or another. But just coming out with replacements seems very unlikely.

Mabye there's a King Pen single pack because Sky 7...

I don't think so.

Actually, if you all remember, last game Spitfire got a single pack because there were starters that came without him.

Snap Shot didn't get a single by Superchargers, Wash Buckler didn't get a single by Trap Team, and Tree Rex didn't get a single by Swap Force.

Not gonna happen....marketing reasons

Maybe they were just making a mock up of the packaging for easy reference... That's always a possibility!

The single Gnarly Tree Rex was available in all stores (gs, bb, tru, trgt, wm, etc) here in my part of the USA.

Maybe we're getting a King Pen single for the Portal Owner's packs?

They've said multiple times that there won't be a Portal Owner's Pack for Imaginators. Marketing showed there wasn't much interest in them, and they didn't sell particular well (compared to the starter packs) for Giants.

the only new starter pack I can see getting released later on is the very likely NX version.....

Someone posted the other day saying that Imaginators won't be coming out on the NX. Nintendo didn't share the specs or dev kit until too far into the development process. (Nintendo is notoriously bad for supporting 3rd party developers these days, which is a big part of why so many have stopped working with them.)
