this creator gimmick is pretty much bust even before it is out. crystals get locked battle class, creating parts get sold as blind bags, that you cant unlock in the game. it looks like they are trying to go for a world record in stuff put behind the paywall this time. its like "we didnt get the earnings we wanted for superchargers, so we are god dammit gonna get it this time, what ever it will take"...

so far we have...
raise the prices for everything
2 special starter packs (dark & crash)
1 normal starter pack with pre-order kaos
two gimmicks (villain & crystals)
chests for creation parts only sold in blind bags
resell older figurines as a three pack
release a bunch of variants as usually

on top of all this it remain to see if we will get microtransactions again....


in my opinion it looks like activision didnt learn a thing from the superchargers. what about cut down on the prices a bit, release less figurines, focus on a gimmick that is fair and all can afford to collect. disney is outta the picture now, why not try to win over new customers instead of go double down on the them. its just getting crazy and outta hand if you ask me, have anyone actually tried to calculate the cost of buying this year?...

I hope you realize that the blind bag chests aren't the only way to get Creation Parts. You get them quite easily through normal gameplay...

You can get the preorder Kaos with any version of the game as well.

Also, the chest are parts you CAN unlock in the game

There's no point making more of these topics until the games out.

Really the paywalls don't seem much different to the last 2 games . So get over it until we can actually review the game properly.

Why do you insist on making topics bashing a game in which you know absolutely nothing about.

For just the starter pack, sensei, and villains it would approximately be around $525 plus $100 for 10 creation crystals ($1000 if you want every element and battle class combo). Then there's adventure packs, blind treasure chests, variants, possible micro transactions... I'm going to make a wild estimate and say if you bought everything for this game it'd be around $1700. You could buy a rather powerful gaming PC with that money and then have some money left.

Couldn't you literally say that about any toy line ever in the history of the world? Yes, buying all of them will cost a lot. If that bothers you, don't buy a lot! Simple as that! This game doesn't really force you to go out of its way and purchase all the figures. Unless you're a hardcore collector, at most you'll just need 8 additional toys... 7 if you buy the Dark Edition.

I wasn't really complaining. I was just trying to give a rough estimate because CountMoneyBone mentioned it. However, I don't really think this game is worth the price. I'm buying it cause I love Skylanders to much and I'm not blaming anyone but myself for that.

I mean, I hate variants and the stupid Unresettable Crystal thing, but I'll just not buy into that aspect of the game... Outside of the Adventure Packs and Mysticat Dual Pack, I am not buying any Extra CCs. Outside of the Dark Edition, I'm not buying any variants! I get the message, but you present it in a way that makes you seem unreasonable and stupid.

They raised all the prices. Senseis are vehicles, crystals are core-priced.

Honestly... It's clear apathy is winning with the whole crystal argument, and CMB is never going to convince anyone presenting it so badly. No one cares about voting with their money other than a few, and few is nothing to Acti.

The truth is we can still make it through the campaign mode without buying a single piece of extra stuff. Probably part of the post-game content will also be avalaible for all kind of "investors". So, you cant still enjoy most of the game with only the disc itself.

TBH I have never found the pay content to be that great in quantitative terms (except for the sea and air levels in SC).

No one is forcing you to buy anything.

I have only two major complaints about this game so far.
The Locked Battle Classes
and while we don't know for sure I guess?? There wasn't a focus on the length of game as I really wish they'd finally do.

I have no problem with the gimmick and is my favorite gimmick ever.. I have no problem with the optional treasure chests, i think most who would be interested may try to just get one of each and be done with it.

1. The only point I can kind of agree on, though it does make some sense considering the figures are the same size as giants.
2. Which is better than Supercharger's five.
3. And that's a bad thing, how?
4. Villains are no different than regular Senseis, so only one gimmick.
5. Which, to our knowledge, are completely optional.

i will say its a good prediction, activision release these to earn money. if you can just get them in the game then there is no reason to buy these blind bags with chests. let that thought sink in for a second....

But Traps had different models and you only needed one to have the Villains. These are mostly optional items. Same for Chests.

Count, have you ever considered the possibility that you take things to a stupidly extreme level? We need you at a 5 and you're all the way at an 11! Wait till the game comes out.

K, just don't buy the game, leave the forums and let people who don't care about minor setbacks enjoy the game.

If you look at Superchargers technically it had the lowest paywalls of any of the series. You can purchase a digital version and complete the entire game with only an old portal. You only needed two figures to unlock 100% of the gated content in the chapters and only racing and a few side areas required them all.

And yet the game was the worst seller of the lot. So I think the gimmick certainly does make the game successful or not, not how good a value it all is and so I think Activision will continue to push for profits wherever they can.

There's actually a reason to buy the chests: you get the parts quicker. That's it.

You are never forced to buy anything and the only thing that I can agree on is the Battle Class lock.

Speaking of these chests, do we know yet if they're single-use, or if they unlock anything after the first time? I feel like that would really suck, if you had the dark chest from the starter and could only use it once before it became completely useless.

We know pretty much nothing other than what's in their packaging.

In your opinion. I actually like the designs on them. And it will mean quick access to some new parts.
