I had already posted this in the Hood Sickle Fan club Topic but since nobody really reads those...
I just copied and pasted.

I think we all forgot the one famous thing Hood Sickle was known for in Trap Team...

He doesn't play by the rules...

Places Undead Trap in Portal
"Surprise!!!" - Hood Sickle
Violently dashes towards gate...
Glitches through the Gate...
"Only Skylanders of the Dark Element are stronger in this zone" - Eon
"I reap what I sow" - Hood Sickle

Wait...

Maybe this is the reason Hood Sickle became Dark...
He broke into so many gates that he became corrupted and his element was realigned to Dark...

Cool theory....although t don't really think that this is was actually happend.

To be honest it will be better than any excuse Activison or Toys for Bomb will ever give us.

How would you explain Tae Kwon Crow and Grave Clobber's Element Changes though, hm?

In an unused Battlecast card, Grave Clobber is shown in the sewers being showered with water. He seems to have been down there for months, possibly learning how to use the element of Water.

Tae Kwon Crow was most likely was tossed into an oven to become roast chicken for Thanksgiving, but instead, the heat probably transformed him into a Fire elemental.

Grave Clobber got stuck in a river for 3 months and in that time learned to use the water element

While Tae Kwon Crow was set in an oven by Chef Pepper Jack and got revenge on him when he learned to use the fire element

That's quite similar to what I just said.

Here's my theory:

The developers of the game just decided to convert Hood Sickle to the Dark Element because they had a certain criteria on which Villains to pick as Senseis, regarding Element and Battle Class. Since Undead was already taken by Wolfgang and Hood Sickle best fit as a Sentinel; they decided to make hood Sickle a Sentinel and convert him to the Dark Element.
