"I have been told under pretty reliable authority (writer for Kotaku.com and skylander fan) that the crystals are NOT locked. Here is what he said after I emailed him asking if he heard about the lock,

"What Activision meant is that once you choose a class it is set unless you delete the character and start over. If you create a Ninja, you can change its appearance and powers al you like, but it remains a ninja while in existence. If you delete the character from the crystal and start over, you can choose a different class. "

So there is a decent chance that we will not need 100 crystals to try everything out."

Take it with a grain of salt, but this is an active user on Matt's site, so he could be trustworthy.

That is what a lot of us thought first , but with the official interview article with the ceo and no menu screen so far yet to show a " reset" option, there's more evidence for non resettable.

It's possible the guy that got interviewed had no idea what he was specifically saying , but I feel like they would've made a retraction announcement or something if it was. Considering the Facebook and Twitter pages just get constant comments about it on every pic they post now.

We'll see within the next month I guess though.

This is what we got for the Jetvac level .

I didn't realise then but it is odd they don't have winged sapphires. First game without them? Or a 3 month old revealed menu maybe not 100% completed? I'm thinking it wasn't fully completed then as winged sapphires have been a staple part of the upgrade game each year since it began.

Maybe they can be collected only on the Hub, like on Spyro's Adventure. Considering that it's a "semi-open world", they can place all Winged Sapphires there to have some collectibles for the player.

If that's true, then I guess it is still a "final decision", in a sense. Because you can't simply change their class, you have to delete the entire character and start all over.

Is it just me or did I only just notice that hexagon shape on the Imaginite Chest. It seem like something supposed to go in it...


What do we know about trap compatibility. Because having traps unlock certain types of imaginite chests (In game) would be awesome. (Almost like Giant Chests from Swap Force)

Edit: Just realised their using the Swap Force Style Portal this year, which doesn't have a trap slot.

Yes. Maybe it's the number of Objectives required to open the Chest.

It was already confirmed that the only use of Traps is to give "Elemental Attacks" to your vehicles in Racing Mode, just like SuperChargers.

That's disappointing. I was hoping for at least one more use, but considering their treatment in SuperChargers, I doubt it.

Thanks for the responses! Here's to hoping at least one other collectible is added, though, because 4 things is slightly disappointing for me.

They DID have one more use in Superchargers though: unlocking Gold Skystones. That means it's got one LESS use here.

Yeah, your right. I completely forgot about that. Speaking of Skystones, do we have any info on a new Skystones mode this year?

Assuming he isn't going the way of Chompy Mage and having a transforming weapon.

Anywho, I really hope that Pit Boss also has a changing weapon like Chompy Mage. I still don't fully understand why he of all villains has a transforming weapon but hey, at least I guessed him being a Bazooker correctly. How many did I get right? Him, Bad Juju, and Tae Kwon Crow. Huh, not bad.

Let's not play a game of "Who gets ignored the most" guys! We all know the general discussion can move pretty fast sometimes, especially when everyone has relevant points to make.

I've been trying to reply to people even if they're at the other side of the page, though I wonder if they didn't actually miss my response as well.

Cortex also does, but his at least is Sky-Chi only so it's a last resort mode of his device rather than 'hey my wodden chompy carving becomes a tiny bazooka'. Pit Boss could be a lot of things, like mount it on top of the handle as a bazooka, or split in half for guns, etc.

Oh yeah, Chopscotch can also transform her axe, but it's into a jumprope and not another weapon. It's hard to see in most videos but you clearly see it shrink on her arms.

So Kaos is a pre-order bonus on amazon since yesterday, right? When I saw that I was really happy that I'll get something for pre-ordering, except I won't. I pre-ordered the game two days before Kaos was revealed and of course in that case, I won't get it. I should've waited.
