I don't know what's behind the tape on the GamesCom Box... But what I definitely do know is that it couldn't possibly be the only other game mode the achievements have told us about, but hasn't been officially confirmed... Nah, that would make too much sense

Come on guys, it's obvious that it officially confirms online PvP. I mean really, look at all the evidence! The tape is black, it's covering somethng and... uh... yeah uh PvP is confirmed just take my word for it I don't have to give you proof.

Seriously though, if you want my honest prediction... It's nothing important. If EVERY box had that tape on it, then I doubt it was used to hide something so much as some other practical purpose.

It's obviously hiding all ten new modes, including: Battle Mode, Level Creator, Racing, Doom Challenge, Dungeon Generator, and more. It also hides the second character poster, which includes 300 new Skylanders we haven't seen before, alongside 60 new Villains, Giants, Swappers, Trap Masters, and Vehicles.
The post also shows that Traps are returning. Classic Spyro, Kirby, Yooka-Laylee, Rayman, Sonic, and Mickey Mouse are shown to be unrevealed guest stars for Imaginators.
All previous Skylanders will have a repose of some sort too, complete with new movests. Each Skylander (repose or not) will unlock a new level.
Crystals are shown to be resetable, and Mystery Chests unlock even more new levels.
Sky7, Sky8, Sky9, and Sky10 are also shown somewhere on there. Sky8 will add two new elements; Time and Space. Sky10 will be able to solve world peace.

Considered they waited until Gamescon was over to announce the Crash AP(no pictures either), could be just that.

It's a pack, I know that much for certain. I do not know if it is an Adventure, Battle, Double, Triple, Level Creation, Treasure Chest, or what ever pack. But I'm fairly certain it's a pack. The optimistic standpoint is to assume it is a Battle Pack, but I know not everyone is an optimist so that's why I say, it could truly be anything.

ISN'T IT USUALLY JUST THE CAST OF ALL THE FIGURES FOR THE GAME, THEY DO THIS EVERY YEAR. THE CHARACTERS THEY HAVEN'T REVEALED ARE UNDER THE TAPE AND THEY DON'T WANT US TO SEE THEM UNTIL THEY WANT US TO.

I'm pretty sure in a video, via questioning, someone confirmed that Online wasn't a thing anymore. Of course I'm talking about co op online. Apparently due to the online co op feature being way under used in Superchargers, they decided to scrap it altogether in favor of putting more time and effort into the story mode, playable in local co op. Now before you guys bring up the racing mode, yes I'm aware that it's returning, and I'm aware that its online, and I'm aware that it's still a form of PvP. If anyone could find the video, It'd be appreciated.

But Lets think about it. All those kids and parents that bought heaps of superchargers toys and vehicles would be pretty pissed off if they couldn't somehow use those vehicles in the newer game.The way they made traps function in super chargers was pretty bland, but those traps could have lots of uses. They're just elemental charms, useful for anything in-game that's elemental. Vehicles however are a bit harder to implement into game play, without making the game too vehicle focused. The racing mode returned because Acti didn't want people to cry over not having a use for their vehicle toys. Simple as that. Traps were implemented into Superchargers so people didn't cry that their traps were useless. Same principle.

I don't think PvP will be returning, and I think it'll be because Acti is simply too lazy to work on a side mode like it. They previously used the excuse that "there are so many characters that it'll be unbalanced", but the truth is that no one asked for a balanced PvP, they just wanted it. It's a game for kids, and kids just wanna beat their friend and say they are better at the game.

We'll get a standard game stretched into 10 levels, maybe the levels will be longer to make up for the smaller number compared to previous games. Remember there are level packs, so there are more than 10 levels, albeit locked behind a price tag. There will be online pvp racing simply because Superchargers was the recent last game, and we will get some side-game or quest system labelled as "Adventures", again, not getting my hopes up for whatever that is.

I'm trying to stay realistic here, based off Acti's previous behavior. I'd love for online PvP, with a score board and all. Maybe team matches, 4 v 4 free for alls...

Maybe it's hiding that they changed something like on No Man's Sky's box

I am sure, it's a PVP battle pack. Even myskylanders.de Asked about PVP Battle mode they said later.

Their own fault. Instead joining games from someone on the friendslist they should have added a open lobby system like in the old games.

Yeah, I think people are looking way too deep into this.
Also I'm not sure what Paul confirmed. I don't think he said racing would be all there is, but I could be wrong.

I was really hoping for a bunch of brand new surprise Cores, now that would have been unexpected and appreciated.
What if they are re-releasing some of the old Cores because they do unlock themed parts for Imaginators, like we speculated?

I couldn't see the reason otherwise, they aren't uncommon figures at all.
That's also why I don't think they are hidden behind the tape; it must be something more important, even if not that much.
