No. The body type is locked to the Battle Class unfortunately... Swashbucklers can only have Ninjini tails, Ninjas can be heads with feet (hence my Donut Ninja avatar), etc.

Interestingly, the D-Pad emotes appear to be Imaginator-only. L1 is no longer co-op teleport/seatswap, but hint or M.A.P., the latter of which I'm guessing is only available in the hub world.

Adventurer Difficulty must be just Normal.

Even with Swashbucklers having no legs, I still have good ideas: A snake/dragon hybrid named Hydra Jr. and a knight with tornado legs named Thundertaker. It's the same with Ninjas. I have some ideas, like an eyeball that throws donut ninja stars named Eye Candy, a robotic brain named Brain Storm and a ninja Chompy named Chomp-Star.

The Swashbucklers not being allowed to have actual legs is one of the most painful hits when it comes to the battle classes. But I will still be able to make one or two... Probably one will indeed be a banana. I hate banana's so he'll be a villain in my own lore.
Looks like the swashbucklers and the Ninja's will be the two I don't create many if at all. I may make one ninja but only if the game is telling me at some point it would be best to have a Ninja imaginator.

I have 2 reasons why I actually don't dislike the Swashbucklers being limited, the first being that they're obviously based on Ninjini, who didn't have any legs, unlike the Ninja, where there has never been a ninja in Skylanders without a body.

Second, at least they have something that replaces a part. Ninjas are seriously just missing a large amount of parts, Swashbucklers should at the very least have the same amount of parts as everyone else.

i wonder why they made the ninjas and the Swashbucklers to look different them the other classes.

Well either Lob Star has a tiny chest or he's what Ninja Imaginators take their inspiration from.

Although yes, I like others wish there wasn't that limitation but it brings up the question what for? If it's for some specific kind of move Swashbucklers and Ninjas have I guess I understand, but if it's purely for those classes to look different then that'd be extra dumb sprinkled on top of an already stupid idea.

I'm probably one of the few people here who doesn't mind the fact that Swashbucklers and Ninjas look different but I can see why it'd be annoying to just limit the "infinite" imagination that we're supposed to be able to use

Right now, I can't decide if I like Wolfgang or Dr. Krankcase better...

It'd be nice if Ninja's could just like forgo a chest. Like if you don't want a chest, have an option for that. And Swashbuckler's legs could just be optional too, like you have all your tails, but also the standard body parts. And it'd be also cool if "double jumping" (just hitting the jump button twice) would give any Imaginator with a winged backpack the ability to fly. Even if it didn't speed them up it'd be a very nice touch.

We KNOW they could be optional, the Doomlanders have been shown to have different body parts for their classes

But the issue is so obviously time constraints. Senseis having those different types as well doesn't help.

I think the reason for bodiless ninjas is probably just so they could reuse the base for Lob-Star's model or something. Definitely for time constraints.

All the classes seem based on existing Skylanders, so the start was probably 'hey let's try to finish these attack animations and then move on to other bodies' but turns out that second part didn't fit in dev time, and Acti probably would only enforce crunch time if the game wasn't actually finished.

Why couldn't they have used Stink Bom for Ninjas, and Ninjinni for Swashbucklers so we could have a unified body type for all characters

I still can't understand this silly Swashbuckler/Ninja thing. It's probably been said a thousand times already, but if they really want their possibilities to be endless then they need to think about the body types. Not everyone wants a head on legs and no legs at all for a character. But yeah, if this is final then I'm not really thinking about making either.

Originally I thought Swashbuckler was gonna be a sword/gun combo, which fits better.

Arguably, the two sword thing fits ninjas better.
