I'm sure this is sarcastic but I feel like this needs to be said. If you love the game franchise and you want to see it live longer than 6 games, please watch Skylanders Academy. Activision is really banking on this show being a success to keep Skylanders going. I know the forums are a but shooken up by the reset news but this franchise needs Imaginators and Academy to be successes for this franchise to keep on going strong.

And no, I legitimately despise trite, non-canon bullcrap (that ISN'T Hyrule Warriors [but then, HW isn't "trite" or "bullcrap") and was not being sarcastic.
I could care less about the "reset news", it was always my intent to mostly play/buy Senseis, so...
If anything I'm upset because they replaced spyro's VA with the Academy loser.
(I'm aware that he's a much bigger actor, but his inflextions [i think that's the term] are all wrong for the character)

I don't think so, it's shown as a Knight weapon in the trailer,but it matches the poster since beard man has curved cutlasses with holes.

Imaginators being held back by the crystal mess or not, I want to watch Skylanders Academy, and I love what I've seen so far(except the worrying number of SF characters versus anyone that's not from SSA). But it's kinda hard to gauge my interest without a trailer that I KNOW exists and Acti is just being an ass about releasing.

I'm desperate for the trailer too. I've been waiting since reveal for one video, and we haven't got it. Probably gonna wait until the last week of September, judging how long this is taking -.-

Okay, that sounds like a load of rubbish. It's obvious that it's for more money. And I'm not going to be buying loads just for different battle classes. They clearly aren't looking at how many problems it could cause, and only at the money side to it.

Having to buy 100 crystals to be able to even test every class and element combination doesnt seem possible even if you have a decent income lol .

Because you can't try something before creating a skylander. Say I want to make a Fire Smasher. I set the crystal to smasher, I make my smasher, and play as him. When playing as him, I find out that I really don't like the smasher. What do I do then? Buy another fire crystal so I can make another skylander of a class I may or may not like?

Today is a rollercoaster, on one hand, really stupid decisions destroying everyone's purchasing plans, on the other, for when your beard is getting weird

Well, I guess gameplay videos will go through the roof.

I feel like it's more in the synergy of the Element and the Battle Class. Who even knows if the Brawler's attacks would work well with the fire attack?

Not only that, not any amount of videos are as good as having the class to be tested by you. I remember seeing tons of videos for my collection and spending weeks deciding who to get, but not only what I buy is extremely different from my initial plans after seeing gameplay, I notice my way of playing is entirely different as say, Buuzer in his path videos, and the characters I like playing the most are nowhere near who I thought would be.

Long story short, Activision thinks they can get away with this when kids can only get so much, and somehow didn't notice that from Trap Team where only collectors bothered with every mold. Sorry my fan characters, but I'm not going in debt over plastic for as long as I can manage - I have pen, paper and a computer to compensate.

I was planning on playing nightmare only if it's available when you first play the game, if not then I'll play expert first. No more of that medium ****, it's 6 years in and I've yet to play nightmare, so once I a nightmare world to play through I'm not turning back to any other mode. That's a big part of the issue for me , you have to define a battle class before the character even exists . Which requires you to actually research all the class and element combination before you even play the game to make sure you know what your really picking. Even if your 8 you'd want to know what your really picking.

It's a really big decision to Pick a pre determined path right from the start.

Theres more exceptable money making methods e.g. create a character , have it able to test out and switch battle classes ( a training period ) , then at level 10 or something make them pick a class to stick with to keep upgrading and levelling up.

The in-universe canon needs to be separated from the practical toy functions. Like, is there any canon reason why any other Skylander is completely able to forget all its experience and upgrades? It's an out-of-universe data purge.

They could easily have put it in some side menu somewhere, completely distinct from the normal editing functions which actually do exist in-universe.
