According to Skylanders Inquirer, Crash Bandicoot and Dr. Cortex will be available to buy separately in November for those people on other platforms. (And of course, people on PS4 can buy a different starter and use these figures if they so choose.)

It reads to me like there will be a Crash adventure pack, since it says the level will be available. There may not be a true single figure release, if that is the case, but I am just guessing at that.

Did they say separately? I have heard that they come together for 29.99.

They probably meant separately from the Starter Pack. Which would still be true for a duo pack.

And, no level piece. Crash and Cortex themselves cause the link between their world and Skylands, rather than a location item linking you to somewhere within Skylands.

That's what I was thinking too, but I'm not about to say it's definitely won't happen without proof.

Well one thing's for sure. I never doubted the release of Crash outside the playstation pack.

At least they're letting us know up front....I know of a few ex-Skyfans who left after buying all of those starter packs to get the characters only to find them later in dual packs.

Well they said Adventure Pack and not Combo Pack which I'm confused about. We've already seen one Adventure Pack so we know they're not calling the Two Skylanders in one pack an Adventure Pack. Maybe there is a Magic Item type thing in this Adventure Pack. Anyway buying this pack would make more sense then buying the Starter Pack since it's cheaper, sure you have to wait a bit, but so what?

Adventure Pack just means it unlocks a level. Thumpin' Wumpa Islands is unique in that it's unlocked by a Skylander figure (possibly unlockable by either of the two), rather than a location item. We already know it's called an Adventure Pack, due to a listing on Panvision.

Another incentive to wait for the separate release (at least for me) is that unlike the Starter Pack, this will have the gorgeous new packaging used for figure packs.

Yeah but there's a debate going around that Crash unlocks that level and so therefore a level piece isn't actually needed. Then the question is why would they make a level piece if it's not needed?

I was told at Gamescom that it will be sold as an "Adventure Pack" because it unlocks the Wumpa Islands too. Dunno if there will be an extra item included, only both Characters were mentioned so far. It'll cost 29,99$.

Well if it costs 30 dollars, and it includes 2 15 dollar figures, then either something in it amounts as nothing, or a Crash is the level piece.

I think that pre-ordering the crash stater pack is going to save you some cash ( pricy but soil it's going to save you some cash)

I specifically said there would NOT be any location item included, due to the level being unlocked by Crash (possibly unlockable by Cortex as well). The duo pack of Crash+Cortex is simply called an Adventure Pack because the new level is unlocked by one (or both) of the figures in the pack.

It definitely is - the Crash Pack is $25 more and the Adventure Pack is reported to be $30. Not to mention you get a bit of a head start on it.

Add in Kaos for the pre-order (which is the same for any Starter, of course).

If you get the Crash Starter at Amazon with Prime or Best Buy with GCU you get $20 off the Crash vs. $15 off the regular. So that is nice as well.

The Crash edition looked like a terrible deal until they announced Cortex and Kaos. Now it is pretty decent, especially with a pre-order.

how? you still save at least $5 by getting a Crash Edition & a Dark edition like I am...unless you don't have a PS3 or PS4 I don't see why you wouldn't. You get the same starter figures & fire crystal in the Crash edition so an extra $25 vs $30 for the adventure pack plus Kaos is free

Or I can pay 34.99 for the Starter pack around Black Friday get a b2g1 on 3 figures by that time (Which could possibly contain kaos) and still have enough for a creation crystal all for the same price of your Starter pack at launch which includes a pre-order kaos.

Oh and I forgot, get the Crash/Neo pack in its pretty packaging.

I did too, until all of the exclusive starter packaging they did last year and the Trap fiasco in year 4. I'll be variant free this year.

Sure, if you want two copies of the game. If you only need one, they you get the Crash pack for $30, and (if history is any indicator) the two starter figures for $10-15 a piece on ebay. That's $50-60 vs. $100.

The Starter figures are by far the easiest to obtained used (and cheaply), either on EBay or Gamestop down the road. $10-15 is actually being really generous, if anything. Buying a whole regular Starter just for them seems very unwise if you are still going for full variants. The Dark Starter plus used figures for the regular ones is definitely the cheapest course. You just have to be a little patient for Crash and the regular Starter figures.

I am glad this is mentioned. There is a chance I"ll get gifted this and if I do it's going to be 99% the standard starter pack. I want Crash Bandicoot!
