And, Lemons, we've known this for months. Activision is definitely taking some cuts with this one and focusing solely on the game and the toys. They have Academy and Battlecast to catch up on profits after Superchargers still so let's not go all doom and gloom on this immediately!

Yeah, what ToyNerd said. Remember that during Trap Team, Lemons, they spent QUITE a lot of precious development time on a new portal if the interviews and panels were any indication. The first place they'd have to cut for more time is there if the gimmick doesn't need anything fancy.

But don't you guys know? Skylanders is doomed all the time according to sourmouth up there!

Ok, after Hood Sickle, Tae Kwon Crow and Grave Clobber I absolutely have no doubt he would not be the Magic villain, if he actually made it into the game.
I don't even believe he will be a Sensei, that was most likely just a scrapped prototype and Bad Juju stole his place.

Pain-Yatta is easily the most popular villain after Wolfgang, and even during his reveal they did everything to show him a lot. Heck, he even got a Meet the Villains when several of the Doom Raiders didn't.
Yeah, I know Chill Bill(in the Troll Radio videos) and Sheep Creep also did, but I mean in the sense that he was pushed a ton. He even got a spot in the comics(non-Magazine,since I never read them nor anyone posts them online), only Cross Crow also has that priviledge and in a minicomic.

To be honest, I have a feeling he's gonna be the Light element villain.

It kinda looks like it's wearing some kind of weird purple mask and he still looks oddly tall.
Maybe they are going to create a Skylander from his own "species", as the second Magic Sensei.

No, it still just looks like Pain-Yatta to me. The "mask" could just be weird lighting.

Oh, I see the head now. Yeah, it could be another paper-hornless-rhino or whatever he's supposed to look like and not exactly Pain-Yatta. That or he's raising his head which looks uncomfortable.

Lol I think a new pinyatta form is a great and easily explained idea.
Just say he ran into a pack of children and got beaten to pieces lol and then master eon offered to fix him up in exchange for being good .


I think leaving pain Yatta as a boss villain in an adventure pack or something is still needed before we get him as a figure though.
I'd love a Candy/party level with him as the boss and little donkey piñata minions that run around exploding lol. It could be an awesome level and we're yet to have candy level.

Huge stretch, but maybe his legs are longer because they have to fill the space of a potential base.

He lacks any kind of weapon as far as I can tell, and I guess he would have had it since it's basically part of the main gimmick: with Chompy Mage as a Smasher it could work.

Could also be a prototype figure and he doesn't have any weapon in hand. His lollipop just kinda broke through his stumps anyway, they could probably just remove it and put others in its place if they were brainstorming.

Well most likely. Again, with that head position and overall the static pose, and as Drawdler pointed out the colors, it's that or a prototype. What it still means is that the devs do like him a lot.

Well no he told me he made that in person, trust me i thought it was a prototype also. He split the toy in half and put the trap in there also.

My second sentence above. It's obviously not the figure, but it proves the devs have interest. If it's the fan favorite and the dev favorite,they'd have to be seriously trying to not have him in the cast.

They understand the extra support,but it's pretty obvious the final decision is theirs. If, say for example, Grave Clobber was the best villain for us, they'd be talking about him on E3, not Wolfgang.

Random choices and throwing things at the wall to see what sticks are not a thing in game development unless you really want to get yourself into a mess. It happens, but for toys that Acti will be spending a lot to produce, it's not exactly feasible.

I'm pretty sure at this point Pain-yatta will be in this game as a Sensei, because he was really popular with both fans and the devs. I also really want to have him in.

With a Kaos figure now a thing, it imagine an Eon figure could be a possibility in the future. That would be crazy!

I saw a video of a YouTuber not talked about here, I don't remember his name, but he was making a fire smasher and I thought I saw some sort of colorful axe. That's all I got, it's probably not going to end up being his though.
