Can we PLAY as the old characters ? (Like jet vac ) [CLOSED]

So what I like the most about skylanders is that every year we get new skylanders and the old ones still work ... But this time I'm not sure about their compatibility in the game : Are they going to unlock new levels ? Are they going to give imaginators new body parts ?
I hope we'll still get to play as our favorite characters.

I get what you're saying, but it's going to look stupid when a skylander NPC is narrating the story AND you are using him/her. The question isn't that outrageous.

They confirmed all previous Skylanders are backwards compatible.
