There are a LOT of options, though. A lot of combinations to pick through... Granted, we don't KNOW at this point what all there is. It seems like a whole lot, nonetheless. I wouldn't say it's shallow, but for a kid's game it does offer a lot of stuff.

I think the problem's going to come in that people are going to expect to make anything on the creator, and if you saw the videos they are a bit more limited compared to most things. even the clips for the phrases they say are limited when you look at all of them.

Out of most of the concepts you'll probably be lucky to make 1 that fits close to being a skylander from something else and so far the easiest one will be shrek. Dragons will have to be bipedal for sure and there's a face for it but again don't go expecting massive things for the creator or you might be disappointed.

Personally I feel this is going to be the "last" game of the series as a whole before a reboot is done. What I mean is with the fact you can make so many different combinations and all the skylanders up to this point, how far are they really going to be able to be backwards compatible?

This is probably the last one you'll be able to carry on old skylanders in and the games beyond won't be bc with the first six games. Remember about nerfing last things in new games, expect vehicles to not matter and next year? your creations will probably not be able to be carried over by much.

I sincerely believe that you won't be able to make any vaguely human Imaginators, just based on what we've seen, and based on the fact that Skylanders generally tries to avoid human characters period.

Being someone who once made an entire team of characters from other games on Dragon Quest IX, I can say that it can be surprising how many characters it's possible to make even with very limited options. Imaginators already has a lot more options than DQ9 ever did.

Exactly! I'd like to make more characters from different franchises, but I'm sure that even my only one (Lapis) will look rather disappointing.

Yes, but i know that people will do this eventually. The Character Creation can be a limited but you can make it even with limitations.

Yeah after seeing that new Skykids video I'm truly inspired. Not only do we have influence over the body parts but multiple aspects of the armor. Helm, Shoulders, wrists, etc. My legion of Battle Beasts will become a reality!!!

Frankly, I'm not worried one bit about the editor's depth.

What I've seen is already more than enough to come up with some really unique designs , and we still have a lot to uncover.

I've seen people do wonders with the quite limited Beta of LittleBigPlanet 2 (compared to the final game, of course), same can be said with many other character creators.
You just have to think out of the box, that's all.

Sure, I'm not expecting Spore-leve freedom of placing and modifying the body or the armor pieces but tht's because this is not what they want to give us, in my opinion: it's more like building with legos, you cannot really change your parts too much but this doesn't stop the imagination.

for years I played "City of Heroes" heavily, best create a character...to date IMO. this isn't as robust, but its close enough. but there was a HUGE legal issue where they would HAVE to wipe your character if they were a clone of a licensed character, so if you made a Claw/Regeneration, and made him look like Wolverine, and call him W0lverine, the character would get deleted. this was due to pressure from Marvel. I wonder since this doesn't have a real online component at least to date - if this will be an issue.

I mean, it's not an issue with other games with character creators, like Soul Calibur or the LEGO games, so I'd assume you'd be safe to do that.

That sounds like an awesome idea, Jak and Daxter need to be in a video game again! I was thinking about making either a crash bandicoot one (earth) or a Sonic the hedgehog one (air).

Recently, in every game with a character creator (i.e., Saint's Row IV, Fallout 4, the Lego Games), we create Buffy the Vampire Slayer to the best of our ability. I think I'll make her either a Brawler or a Smasher with the red axe (because it looks like the Scythe from Season 7).

Dingodile, Evil Crash, Gnasty Gnorc, Hunter, Fake Crash, Tiny Tiger and Koala Kong are all ones I'm going to attempt.

I think Kairi is posible to create, she won't look very accurate, but please the KH Fandom doesn't hate me for this. Also the Voice i would go with the Heroine since there's no voice that it will suit her more, please have more voice options.

Aside from some characters from the Spyro and Crash franchises, I'm much more content in devising original creations (I've already come up with 34, and there are at least another 16 in the pipeline).

Nonetheless, I'd still like to try and create some characters from other franchises which have established ties to Skylands (plus a few from others which have yet to make an appearance); I've strived to come up with element/class combinations which are unused by my OC Imaginators, for a bit of added variety.

Here are the characters from other franchises I'd make, as well as which classes I'd give them:

Tiny Tiger (Fire Brawler) - This furious fighter packs a seriously mighty wallop!
Coco (Magic Bazooker) - Armed with a custom cannon powered by a Magic Crystal

Bianca (Light Ninja) - Is able to use some light-based spell effects
Ripto (Earth Sorcerer) - Wants to prove he's strong without relying on Crush and Gulp
Hunter (Life Bowslinger) - Fast runner, expert archer...is there anything this cat can't do?

OTHER
Daxter* (Air Quickshot) - Has this cool little jetpack which allows him to hover
Kaptain K'Rool (Water Swashbuckler) - K'Rool's not letting DK hog the spotlight!
Sir Dan (Undead Sentinel) - Armed with a double-ended spear for skewering baddies
Ratchet* (Tech Knight) - Wields his trusty Omniwrench against Kaos' Doomlanders
Moblin (Dark Smasher) - Hey, not all Moblins are bad, but that's a secret to everyone...

*The element/class combinations of these two are interchangeable

Gonna have a go at making Deadpool as a Dark Quickshot. He could be a Swashbuckler with his two swords, but if Swashbucklers only have genie tails, I'll go with the next best thing. His catchphrase will be "Portal Master! Grant me my barbarian magnetism!" It makes sense because Deadpool is known for breaking the fourth wall often, as well as exaggerating and being super egotistical. Also, I'm imagining him with the cool, wachy or hero voice

I would call him "No Mercy Asgore". Although I doubt either of those characters are possible. At least I got in his infinite nostalgia and Hood Sickle.

I'm really focusing more on original characters than anything, but if I can't think of a good Undead character even after experimenting around, I might just make Igos Du Ikana from Majora's Mask. Some parts seem to fit him nice.
