I have not seen a topic about this yet, so I thought I would crate one.

What are your buying plans for Skylanders: Imaginators? It's never too early to start planning. I have two plans, based on gameplay details:

1. If you are allowed to have multiple Imaginators in one crystal/store your Imaginators in-game:

• Normal Wii U Starter Pack
  
• All 20 Senseis
  
• One Creation Crystal of each element

Estimated Price: $500.18 (Including Taxes)

2. If you are not allowed to have multiple Imaginators in one crystal/store your Imaginators in-game:

• Normal Wii U Starter Pack
  
• One new Sensei of each element
  
• Two Creation Crystals of each element

Estimated Price: $447.53 (Including Taxes)

I do not plan on getting any villains (except for Luminous, if he is the light element villain) to save money.
Both alternatives are expensive, but option two is less, and I am liking the concept of creating characters, so I will most likely choose option two. I still have to wait to find out about certain details about the game before I make my final decision.

I plan on getting everything this year, even variants and all molds of Creation Crystals. The only things I won't get are chase variants (unless I find them myself).

On day 1, I'm getting everything I can. Creation Crystals will be the priority here. I've learned my lesson with traps. I'll get the regular Wii U starter on Black Friday. If there's an awesome deal on it, I might get the XBox 360 Dark starter on Black Friday as well if I can find it. Otherwise, I'll wait till Christmas for that. I'll get the rest of the waves as they come.

All in USD (rounded up to whole dollars): 75? for the Starter + 15*(30-2) + 10*(10-1) = 75+15*28+10*9 = 75+420+90 = 585 (+60 if you go for the 6 doubles)

I hope to get at least most of the villains and a few Senseis.

I'll be thinking of characters beforehand and buying Crystals as I think of new stuff.

Yeah I did the math insanely wrong

This year is gonna be kind to me. My girlfriend is buying the starter pack and I'm not buying any crystals. Just 1 sensei for each element/battle class. So $150 before sales or taxes.

XB1 starter, one of each crystal element and some of the Skylanders/Villains that I like such as Wolfgang. I might get more crystals if needed.

IDK how much this'll cost, so if someone knows please tell me (I don't know much about the prices).

Normal Starter or Dark Starter - depends which costs less when combined with everything else

This way, I can unlock almost everything in the game Imaginators-wise (like attacks), although I might be more limited in some areas (like not being able to have as many Imaginators at the same time) than I would if I got everything.

I think they were excluding what is in the Starter pack

Just going with the Dark Starter pack for PS4, myself.

EDIT: Upon further thought, I think I'm going to get a few of the creation crystals, too, and maybe a normal variant Wolfgang.

I'd probably do something similar to how I handled Trap Team:

Get favorite Senseis/Villains at $10 or less (Core price) if they reach that price via sale. If the game requires one of each battle style/element, focus more on getting different battle styles/elements rather than full-on favorites.

If different battle styles/elements do something significant, keep an eye on prices of Senseis/Villains I dislike to see if anything goes below $5 that I need.

Get a random assortment of Creation Crystals on sale for $6 or less each (Trap Price). Try to get Light, Life and Magic crystals for actually having a Light character, and to create Classic Spyro characters. If the different elements actually unlock stuff other than customization options/abilities, then keep an eye on prices to try to get one of each.

I'll wait for the full roster to be revealed and then I'll decide if I'm going to get all of them or not. There are already some Skylanders I could skip and villains that are possible which I really don't want in my shelf (Gulper, Chompy Mage)

For now I'm planning on buying two senseis (that includes villains) so leaving one out and I'll try to balance out the battle classes so that there aren't more of one then another. Also one Imagination crystal of each element and of course the PS3 starter.

I'll get the starter pack and as much creation crystals as I can. I'll use senseis for moves, etc. to apply to my creations. Maybe I'll try attaining ten senseis, one for each element AND each ability (There are ten right?), or maybe go out of my way to get all of the senseis.

I'll go for my standard plan of getting all the characters and expansion packs (actively avoiding reposes and recolors, to which I've made very few exceptions). Also one Crystal per element. I don't really care if that results in any limitations, I'm going for a balance of practicality and what I want (and having both collectionist and purist tendencies, I generally want all the things, but only in their standard iteration).

Like with Trap Team, I wanted as many trap designs as possible (but no more than 1 of each design for minimum cost and maximum uniqueness), distributed in a practical way over the elements (a 1:2 ratio of traps/villains, rounded up in the case of Kaos and Magic). Only ended up ditching my least favorite design, which was the creepy upside-down trap.

All villains, any Senseis that look interesting to me, and basically no Creation Crystals (Unless I need them)

I'll wait for more information: which kind of powers each sensei unlocks, which kind of elemental attacks each crystal unlocks, whole roster, etc. Once I know that I'll start taking decisions.

Right now, the only thing in question for me is the Crystals, and that depends on how many they decide to make.

We'll get most of Wave 1, probably. From there... I imagine we'll get at least one creation crystal of each element and won't be too bothered by collecting many, if any, variant crystals. Then the Wave 2 on Senseis and Villains will likely be bought at retail during sales.

im getting the dark edition which come with 3 of the 10 battle classes and 3 creation crystals
