I doubt it and I doubt they lacked confidence for SSC as well. My guess is to keep fans waiting less time for release (After revealing of course)

Oooh, JayeA suggested something cool about a weapon gimmick on the news thread - magnets for you to snap the weapons into place. Considering how strong the Swap Force ones are, maybe have it under the plastic so a Skylander can hold the weapon in whatever angle, if not just rest it on their knuckles/mouth/feet randomly.

That's kind of how I pictured the figure, if the weapons gimmick would be a thing.

Finally! So basically, a REVEAL of 4 Skylanders? Not the game itself? Dammit. I'm so confused.

I would agree if they still had to show it to anyone, but this is only a matter of revealing it to the world.
What has been done has been done, too late to feel inconfident.

That's definitely how I imagine a gimmick like that: it wouldn't feel like a "SWAP Force 2" just because of the magnets.

However, I prefer to go with angeleg theory of Battlecast's cards actually unlocking items/powers/features in the game.
It would be 100% optional, just like traps, but would encourage people to buy cards even if they don't own the mobile game.

Oh, just to clear things up, that "4" in the message definitely means "for", as in "for Skylanders".
Just average Internet language.

Nope, and to be fair it isn't even confirmed it will happen next week: just that they could reveal it starting from next week.
But I honestly see no reason not to reveal it on either Wednesday or Friday.

I'm expecting a few hints and teasers on the socials, this weekend.

I'm gonna bank on Wednesday like everyone else. My last day of school is this Thursday, but I don't have school Monday-Wednesday.

Let's hope it's really good this year.

Hoping for something good from this one, just a few more days to go. I'll go for Wednesday simply because 1st of June.

You know what. I'm not going to get hyped for this reveal. The game will probably be good. But I'm not gonna get all super excited for it this time like I did with Superchargers, that just made the hype fade away faster.

I am really putting my wages on the reveal being next Wednesday. I could really imagine Activision revealing every future Skylanders game on the first Wednesday in June. It just seems very credible to me. It would help them manage fixed schedules on when to reveal more characters/information, and it would give a sense of certainty to their fans. I may be wrong, but if I were in charge of Skylanders news and reveals, that is what I would do.

Actually, they were talking with the Toy person about amiibo and she let it slip that she had an embargo I think because she wanted to discuss something about the future game mechanic and was wondering when the episode will be put out.

I think that the problem is only the compatibility with all consoles. I think that I was never in favor of console-exclusive content in games, so I find a little unfair for PS and XBox users to have less characters than Nintendo ones. Aside from that, one of the main staples of the games are the "all toys compatible with all consoles thing", so the Amiibo Skylanders have gone against it, and I didn't really liked that.

I was actually pretty excited when they announced the Skylanders Amiibo, but I take this into consideration before making it again.

Actually, the Wii U is the third most popular console. The first one is the Wii, and the second one is the XBox 360.

I really don't mind them. Bowser is a pretty fun character

Yeah, I don't see the point of this hatred towards Skymiibos. The most common reason is that "they just don't fit with Skylanders", which honestly is a stupid reason.

It's more so the fact Skymiibos take away a spot from an original character

No they don't. Bowser is Fire but there's still two normal Fire Skylanders in SSC like every other element.

Maybe my memory is failing me, but wasn't a thing in the original ads "bring your skylanders and use them on a friend's console"? With the Skymiibo it's "bring your figures and vehicles and use them on a friends console unless they play on XBox, Play Station or mobile devices". As fun as the 2 are, they break a big rule of the franchise. And I have personal issues with them as DK took Spitfire's spot in the WiiU starter.

The Skymiibos were pretty cheap looking. There was really no excuse for that (all the other TTL figures are pretty well crafted). Though I'm not totally on board with Skymiibos, I'm looking forward to what the future might hold.

It actually only shows the same message as if you place a new Skylander on a older game.

They said 20 because of the Skymiibos, though. Had it not been for the Skymiibos they would've just said 18 (or 36, including the vehicles). Light and Dark only got one Supercharger for the same reason they only got one Trap Master. Light and Dark are meant to be less common than the other elements and they will always get less figures for that reason.

Plus, half the figures in Superchargers were reposes, and I doubt VV was ever planning to make Light and Dark reposes.

Something tells me battlecast cards will be the gimmick of sky 6. The portal may have a card reader of some sort of technology which allows cards to be loaded into the game. The cards will unlock different stuff: stats boost, elemental changes, teams up with villains, extra lifes, etc. I haven't discarded yet the theory of weapons though, stills be possible due to the fact that weapons seemed to have a lot of emphasis on the new arts of golden queen and pain-guy.

Just a note on consoles popularity (I don't want to sound arrogant or anything, so sorry if it seems like it, not my intention):

The Wii U is far from being the most popular console of the new gen, in fact it's the last one, and quite a dissapointment for nintento. PS4 has already surpassed the 40 million units sold in only one and half year and if it continues like that it may become one of the best selling consoles of all time:

Seeing the gap between consoles it comes as logical the release of the NX next year. Not to mention the third party support for Wii U compared to PS4 is like comparing my house with Buckingham palace.

What is true, though, is the 3DS success, which has sold nearly 265 million units as of february 2016 (see link above).

This is in terms of consoles sales. As far as which platform is selling most skylanders games, I don't know as I didn't find any source which I trust enough to take it seriously. It's been said in the past that skylanders sell better in nintendo consoles but I'm curious as to know if it stills be that way at the moment.
