It's fascinating how I haven't posted anything on here for at least a week.
Seems like we'll be getting some informations soon. I would actually prefer a release around christmas so that they have more time producing the game and make it right (not like last year). Even though Skylanders was always a Fall thing, now it will make christmas really special.

Plenty of competition. And it won't just be other TTL, it'll also be regular action figures and other toys, normal video games, and clothes and everything people give as gifts; people use xmas money for a lot of hobbies, not just one, having it so they'd have to spend it all on Skylanders would just destroy its Day One. Much better a few weeks before or later(which isn't an option). However, iirc 'holiday' is a lot more months than December to the industry, can't remember after when.

It's been said that it would release in fall 2016. Christmas isn't Fall 2016 in niether the Northern or Southern Hemisphere. Thanksgiving would be Fall and also a holiday though, so maybe a Black Friday release could be seen this year.

I don't know how I'd react if it was a Christmas-time release. I'd definitely have more money ready when it came out, but the wait might be frustrating. If they made this happen, I'd imagine that this means some kind of change for the roster. It could be smaller, because it's later, but it could be bigger, because the game might go on longer if it's released later. Right now, I have neutral feelings about this.

This ENTIRE thread is speculation, nothing has been announced yet. We have nothing to talk about Skylanders related, so this is what there is available.


It's very much a market problem, but DI clearly made decisions that hastened their departure. I'll play wait and see....heck maybe it's time for a "new" generation of 5-8 year olds to take hold. If I'm betting with real money however...

Honestly with DI out of the picture, the crown is right (or is the phrase ripe?) for the taking. DI appealed to a lot of the younger kids because they saw characters they knew. Kids were more likely to go for DI because of the familiarity of the characters. Now I would say that Skylanders has the most appeal to the younger generation. Amiibo may have a few iconic and known characters, but most of them such as Ganondorf, Marth, and Mega Man are totally unfamiliar to most little kids. Diminsions still has a bit of appeal to little kids but not as much as Skylanders. (Mostly because the way Skylanders are packaged is better than the way Dimensions is)

We are seeing some move from DI to Skylanders to fill the collecting void in other forums, but just like skymiibos bringing more fans, we can't be sure yet if they'll stay.

Says around the beginning of this article that Activision is planning on showing Skylanders 6 at E3. In that case, we have less than a month left of waiting.

Also, I miss the excitement I had when they showed Skylanders: SWAP Force at E3. Seeing Rattle Shake, Free Ranger, Hoot Loop, Grilla Drilla, Spy Rise, and more characters for the first time was super exciting for the 12-year-old I was. Maybe, just maybe, Toys For Bob can revive the series. Because, I am not sure if this chart of Skylanders sales is legit, but it seems like it:

This series definitely needs a revival. If it does not get one soon, then Skylanders 6 could possibly be the last Skylanders game. It would make sense; I mean, think about all of the data each game has to hold to allow you to play Skylanders from six different entries. If they do not start cutting some characters from being playable in new entries, I do not know what they will do to support so much content.

Pretty sure someone said VGChartz was exaggerating or straight up not legit, but not sure if they said Skylanders specifically.

Acti said they aren't doing presentations on E3, little late to change plans.

Just read that article. It says that Sky 6 is EXPECTED to be shown there. It's not exactly the same as saying that there is confirmation that it will be shown there.

Guha bala mentioned in a few interviews that the character storage wouldn't be a problem in the future and that, in case it was needed, they would make use of the cloud in order to get over it.

PURPLE BASES?!?! My life is complete. I've wanted that since Giants. Plus, CORES ARE RETURNING!!! At least core remakes. Man, I am happy.

Also, by looking at Chopper's eyes and skin detail, he definitely looks like a cyborg now. Mhm...elemental indeed...

I think it's all but confirmed to be real 84. Go read the topic Bifrost posted.

Idk how I feel about this. A I'm glad for purple bases (it's one of my favorite colors). B I'm glad it's not the 400th version of Trigs. C I'm not the biggest fan of Chopper but maybe he is different here then he was in TT so I'll like him some more. D THE HYPE SEASON HAS STARTED FOLKS.

Also his eyes are definitely robot eyes so if his eyes light up and he's a LC then it'd make sense I suppose.

I meant with like a Wow-Pow or remastering or what not.

But anyway, purple bases I'd say is a good sign, this probably means they're not going to rely on a side-toy gimmick for this game.

Somebody contact Activision or Toys for Bob with the prototype and its source to see if it is real or fake. If the image is deleted, it is probably real. If it is not bothered with, then it is probably fake. I already have the image saved so it won't be "gone forever" if anyone complains against my idea.

Sooo, Skylanders is at E3 after all and everything may start with a prototype once again. It seems like they have a bunch of trust in this years entry, but then again, we all have to, or the franchise will die. I also remember a dream about Sky 6 but it was to horrifying and disturbing to tell everything. I'll tell only one thing; there was a new guest star from DI, it was Woody with four legs shaped like firickin' Knight Mare, or should I say Nightmare...... I'll go and kill myself.

I'm happy that we're going back to regular bases, unlike SSC. Hopefully this will be more about Skylanders than SSC (which was why I didn't buy it).

Last night I had a weird dream about the reveal of Sky 6:

Title was only Skylanders 6. No Gimmick, no Kaos, no Flynn or the others from the old crew. A new evil, all Skylanders was captured, only 6 was left, a mix of new and old characters, that are all in the Starter Pack. That 6 enter a old ship and now they must free all the other Skylanders and only then they are playable in the story camaign, all others later in a free mode (like the Lego games).

I know it sounds more like a space opera, on the other site it would be good for the new characters.

I personally prefer not to say that it's real or fake until we have better information. The things people like Bifrost said made me calm down a little and give a better look at the images. So now I will just wait a little more and see how everything turns out.

We knew the story was fake, heck I'm still not sure I even totally buy into the Spitfire leak's story. I figured someone stole it off the assembly line or worked for TFB and stole it or something. Honestly I still think the figure is real and that it was a 2014 prototype.

I just read on Gotta Be Mobile that Activision is still showing up to E3, just not with its own booth. I didn't see anything where Skylanders is DEFINITELY going to be at E3, though

I am considering the possibility of it being fake as well as the one which would make it true.

I still haven't heard anything which made me opt out one of those two options.
It's much different from the Spitfire's "leak" even if they do share certain aspects.

As of now I think the color base was tweaked but the number of the year was not.
And the figure is indeed something real, whether it's a scrapped model for Chopper or the prototype of his S2, Lightcore or whatever.

That being said I would lie to myself if I didn't admit I want it to be real soooo bad.
I think I'm not the only one being seriously thirsty for news in any form and only Eon knows how much disappointed I would be if this turned out to be a hoax.

But a disappointing truth is still better than the most exciting lie, I guess.

Yeah, Activision won't have a booth at this year's E3. But I hope to see the next game in some form, like a trailer.
