Maybe. NX is coming out in March 2017. If anything, Sky 7 is guaranteed to be on it, with Sky 6 a "maybe"

Very big maybe, since our only reference is the japanese SSA for the WiiU. Dunno if TFB would throw development time to port to a console that's coming out 6 months after the game's original release,unless Beenox gets that job again.

I'd say they're gonna wait until number 7 to release a Skylanders game on NX. They released Swap Force for PS4 and XB1 later because those were released before Christmas, but the NX is releasing at a time when Sky6's lifespan will begin to end, with maybe 2 or 3 figures left after that. They will definitely wait until Skylanders 7, but I have no problem with that since it'll expand my Wii U's lifespan for a while after I pick up the NX.

They could realease a NX copy or maybe do some sort of offer where u can DL the NX version for free if u get the WII U copy. More then likely since its march they prob will wait for sky 7 thou who knows maybe nintendo will move it back to Dec.

Yeah thats what I thought too. You could have some really out there designs. I reckon it would be great.

Dark: Pluto (being the darkest celestial body as well as being on the opposite end of the sun and not even a planet, like the sun)

I really like that idea but I would re-arrange it a little:

- Magic: Saturn (having such a big ring makes it feel magical, uh?);
- Tech: Mercury (always thought the mercurians could use some mercury-like fluid to power hi-tech devices, even if quicksilver is technically related more to Magic in the Skylanders universe);
- Life: Venus (obvious reference to the venus fly trap and it's generally associated to lush vegetation in various media);
- Undead: Pluto (the god of the Underworld so it!/ kinda speaking for itself );
- Air: Jupiter (biggest gas planet in the Solar System named after the leader of the gods himself);
- Earth: Earth;
- Fire: Mars (not the hottest planet but basically a scorched wasteland so it kinda fits);
- Water: Neptune (again, goes without saying);

- Light: Sun
- Dark: Moon
I like the two mini-Elements being represented by two different kinds of celestial bodies which are often depicted as direct opposites.

I'm not that fond of Earth and Magic associations because the former could truly relate to Magic since it's where human Portal Masters come from... But then neither Uranus nor Saturn would fit the remaining Element.

The plot could revolve around Kaos finally finding a way to enter our dimension without turning into a toy and coming across a group of Skylanders which were scattered across all the different celestial bodies instead of falling only on Earth, thus being influenced by them.
They could go really crazy with designs, this time.

Moon versus Sun is kind of unbalanced. I'd associate Dark with the Kuiper Belt - mysterious and hard to reach, unless it tries to reach its hands to us first.

- Magic: Saturn

- Undead: Pluto
- Air: Uranus
- Earth: Jupiter
- Fire: mercury
- Water: Neptune

Anyway. I like the idea of linking the elements to the planets.

Whoops, meant to put Saturn for Tech.

Let me explain mine.

Magic: Earth. This is because Magic is more the mainstream element, and we live on earth. Plus, it's magical that life exists on it.
Earth: Venus. Just kinda one of the ones that didn't fit anywhere.
Water: Neptune. Neptune's the God of the ocean.
Fire: Mercury. It's the closest to the sun, so it's the hottest.
Tech: Saturn. Because the rings could be made kind of tech-y.
Undead: Uranus. See Venus's description.
Air: Jupiter. This is because Jupiter has a huge tornado, and it also the first of the Gas Giants.
Life: Mars. Because life could potentially be sustainable there.

Light: The Sun, because it produces light.
Dark: Pluto, because it is the darkest planet.

Here's why it shouldn't be the sun and moon. BECAUSE EVERY PLANET HAS MOONS. THERE ISN'T JUST ONE. The sun and Pluto seem more like opposites to me. They're on the opposite ends of the solar system, and neither of them are planets.

That we know,they just won't have a presentation. That probably got lost in the storm of 'OH NO ACTIVISION IS HAVING TROUBLE' when this first got mentioned here.

If Skylanders is not there, Activision will likely have their booth filled with their other games.

I guess the game might be announced in mid-May/early June and it will be simply there in the form of demos and/or new figures.

Definitely not seeing them announcing it later than E3.

I'd say September release. I liked how everything came out earlier this year. I love how I'm finishing the collection before June has even begun.

Am I the only one that really disliked the Skymiibos? They messed up the 'realness' of Skylands for me. It just felt like Acti were trying to make more money by partnering with Nintendo (Which of course they were) and ended up making a cheap side-gimmick that only half of players could get.

The figures still looked good, but the Skymiibos (Along with the vehicles) were what made SC the least Skylander-y Skylanders game yet.

But eh, opinions. I'm not sure what people think about this.

I'm ok with their existence more than most of the people against it,but I still think they reek too much of Guha Bala's bias as seen in interviews. Bowser is NOT a good choice for a Skylander, there and there,it was clearly because he's the guy's favorite.
DK is fiiine I guess,but even he feels out of place when it comes to mood. His series is more down to earth even if it's fantasy all the same. If we had two other characters that feel like heroes travelling dimensions to help,like say Kirby or someone else who has trouble with portals often, it'd fit.

The things I dislike about the Skymiibos as of now are two:
- the fact they are the first non-universal figures;
- the fact they probably took away space for at least two new Skylanders.

Nothing other than that since they also received a lore explanation (somehow).
But I indeed tolerate them, not like.

I think they shouldn't have introduced them with a controversial game such as SuperChargers.

The Amiibo comic did a nice job of explaining the how but it still had a little bit of issue with the why. Bribing Bowser with a plane usually wouldn't be enough considering he has Clown Cars for days, while I could see DK just accepting it because it sounds fun.

Kinda sad they didn't give Bowser any written lines,either. I get he's not supposed to have voice acting,but he also knows how to speak in this canon as seen in the comic, it's more than "rawr"x5 times.

You're definitely not the only one. Unfortunately it's just a matter of incompatible opinions. What makes some people happy regarding Skymiibos makes others unhappy, and vice versa.

I had the most vivid dream last night that we were in this very topic waiting for news until lo and behold, we hear about the return of battle mode in an actually authentic leak. For some reason one of the new characters in the picture was Wash Buckler's head with Hot Head's body. I think I'm ready for some news...

I expect Kirby, Chibi FE, or Federation Force guest stars.

Some ideas:

Villains:

- Kaos Squad: Kaos is still our budy/evil consultant as has build his own Skylanders strike force, a much better choice as the villains from TT

Toys:

- Mechs: would make sense, like vehicles we had in the first game some sequences where we must control a mech or robot

- Monsters: like Crash of the Titans, where we ride on legendary elemental beasts. Maybe both in a mix of vehicle zones and arena fights.

Has anyone checjed out the new Ratchet And Clank game? THAT'S what I want from Skylanders 6

Platform specific toys are an abomination to this franchise and a slap to the face to the people that were expecting "Platform independence". I will ban the next game if they pull this again.

Kirby fits so perfectly that he'd pretty much be guaranteed if it wasn't for licensing issues with Hal. I hope they can work around that by Skylanders 6...


I really don't think Fire Emblem would fit, though. Almost any other Nintendo franchise would fit Skylanders better.

I kind of think Pokemon would work out the best as Skymiibo, buuuuut considering how stingy they are with copyright, even with their own games' publishers, I know it's not gonna happen. But if they do bring back the Skymiibo they need to learn from their mistakes in Superchargers. I don't have a problem with Nintendo-exclusive guest stars (probably because I'm a Nintendo gamer), but I agree they executed it rather poorly.

As for what they could do for a potential gimmick, I honestly have no idea. I mean, if the whole "figures hint at next gimmick" thing applies, then it could be as something as cool as a full-blown crossover, a space adventure, or transformations, or something as lame as just colors.

I would love Pokemon Skymiibos, but as AdamGregory said, GameFreak really doesn't like putting Pokemon in other games. They're in things like Smash Bros and Mario Maker, but they're excluded from games such as Yoshi's Woolly World.

Transformations are what I'm hoping for and we have two characters hinting at it in Superchargers. Maybe the new gimmicklanders could each have an elemental themed transformation that is activated by doing something with the figure (like plugging in a key, or pressing a button with a symbol on it, or rotating something on the character's body).
