I called last night and they told me that they can't give them out anymore but are sending all feedback to the part of activision that handles distribution

Yeah, I figured this was gonna happen. I am still gonna call and I'm also gonna mention how rare it was to get the Light/Dark stuff. Not because I want them to send me free pity stuff but for them to know as direct feedback.

Living here in Canada, I didn't even bother calling. Highly doubt they would have sent them up here. But I'm hoping with the mass amount of calls you guys put in, that maybe they'll consider actually distributing them

I too received an email saying that they were sorry, but they could not honor my request for the trap and they had no further info.

So the feedback goes to the recycle bin like with all indifferent companies. Honestly the "part of activision that handles distribution" doesn't live in a bubble, they are fully aware of these issues. Generally, their hands are tied because the higher ups makes all the decision making. The best that they can do is file a report to the higher up stating various issues which concerns the fans but at the end of the day stuff like this will be ignored because it's not economically feasible to do anything about it.

They pretend that they care and say that they'll forward matters to someone else for good PR, but secretly the company hopes the matter will drop if they ignore it long enough. In most situations people will loose interest or just won't care anymore over time. Smaller companies tend to take these things seriously and will do something about it, but the mega large ones rarely does unless it's a huge public relations nightmare.

Personally, I'm still hoping that they'll flood the market with traps whenever some secondary wholesaler gets the inventory. Either 5 Below or Big Lots. I'm fully expecting that to happen this summer, unless SC was a bigger failure than expected and no company is going to touch any Skylanders dead stock.

If The Empire makes these traps as a pre-order bonus then one of each yawn trap will be tied to different starter pack to force young portal masters from all around the galaxy to spend their hard earned Republic credits on at least 3 of them.

This is my honest opinion of all this yawn trap stuff.

I, myself have also been frustrated about the release of the yawn traps.

I too have spend several hundred of dollars to get all their toys!!

But, I can't help but think that because they are difficult to get that those who have not and have spent tons of money on Skylanders feel they have a sense of entitlement.

There have always been and always will be toys in a line that are rare or hard to collect!! That's what makes it exciting and fun!! The hunt, the collection!!

I really don't feel bad for anyone not getting "results" from Activision on this!! Every toy line will have rare product or product that is very difficult to get!!

This is nothing new.....

The Yawn Traps are the first time in four games that a standard item was not released in the US. Aside from that, I *think* Series 2 Drobot is the other other standard item that didn't get a full world-wide release (I know some of the variants did not receive world-wide releases as well).

Additionally, a lot of folks put in a lot of leg-work trying to get one of each of the traps. It wasn't easy to get the ones that *were* released in the US.

This isn't the same as Spotlight, Blackout, the Expansion packs, Wham Shell or even chase variants though. The Yawn Traps weren't 'hard to get' - they were virtually impossible to get. A narrow, limited release in one small market. It was lame not to release them... and even more lame that Activision *still* hasn't come out with an official statement one way or another on them.

I'll be one of the first to say that people are acting entitled when it comes to these little pieces of plastic - but in this case, I do believe it is justified.

Have you seen what they are going for on ebay? ...ridiculous! ...a crime!

I still have hopes that one day they'll release them in some way or another.

Correction, for you. I honestly could not care less about how "rare" a figure is with this series. If it's a figure for this game, I expect there to be enough supply for everyone, not the situation where they make a false rarity. I know, it's been this way since Giants (I saw plenty of the SA figures in some shape or form tbh) but this should not be justified and applauded behavior. It's pretty shady if you ask me. No other toy series I had as a kid was this trashy about their figures.

Look at it like this. They only hit Australia for the most part. They maybe only had like 500 each lets say. Do the math how much money do you think they would go for? A fricking lot..... I have been after them since buying all the traps that were out and they are the last 3, I need to finish off oh lets say my collection and I am going to get them.

If I were going to sink $300-$1,200 on three Skylanders toys, I'd be going after things like the employee exclusives and such. Maybe it's because I didn't use the traps much (couldn't use them without opening them), but if I was going to drop a grand to add something to my collection, it wouldn't be the traps. ;)

I would like to remind people it wasnt just Australia that received yawn traps - So did new zealand and Europe

Yeah i got the brush off also...being told my request to put them on Amazon some way because the prices on e-bay are beyond crazy.

Yeah it's a very bad call on Activisions end to do this. However, the only statement you can make by instituting your own proverbial karma, is that you yourself don't tolerate it. Now, I'm sure in time this brand will end up dying.

Perhaps it's due to their support line handing out free unreleased - but supposed to be used for replacements - traps to some lucky folk, while telling everyone to hit the road. Perhaps it's due to poor gameplay choices that started with Trap !aster only elemental gates in Trap Team.

I think eventually, everyone will get smart.

As for me. I didn't luck out. Luckily I found a copper Tomb Buggy and Roller Brawl the other day when I grabbed my Power Blues. So I will sit on those (or trade them for a set of Yawn Traps if someone has a pair or can secure a pair overseas) and sell them for enough to buy either 2 of the Yawn Traps, or all three.

Sad we fans have to do that, when Acitivision is literally sitting in replacements they could sell or offer as preorder incentives. But, if not, this brand will surely die in time, due to poor release date communication and release, or because of stunts like the Help Eon line pulled. They will blame everyone but themselves in the end, however. It is what it is.

The funny thing is, why does Activision US have replacements for product that wasn't even released here?

Anywhoo, I don't know how Activision does it, but generally, if you buy in one country vs. another, you're actually buying from a different company or distributor (think Nintendo of America vs. Nintendo of Canada, vs. Nintendo Co. LTD (Japan)). And since it's a different company, one won't generally service the products bought from the other company (I.e.: you bought this 3DS from Nintendo Co. LTD, so you have to contact them for repair options, Nintendo of America won't help you).

Granted, if I import a Series 1 Spyro and he doesn't work, Activision in the US has no idea where he came from unless I tell them, so they will likely help. But Yawn Traps? Without a retail US release, they would know they weren't bought here.

Oh, alright then. Thought it was a thing of as long as it's avaliable somewhere they'd know, used Europe as an example there.

So basically these things were only released in very low amount in AU. (i've personally never seen any reports of them in EU or NZ)
And yet activision USA support has these things in the warehouse, being shipped out to the lucky few? WTF!?

Well when you put it that way, that's so unfair and I can't believe those guys. Our only chance is for a restock of traps that contain these traps we all want so badly, but my store only restocked on some of the slightly newer traps. They didn't even get anymore new dark or light traps for crying out loud. I hate to say it, but the future of Skylands is looking a lot darker than I thought it would look.

Indeed, but this heavily flawed brand brought it upon itself, especially after this lame bad business move they just pulled.

Goes from removing the best bits about Skylander games, to making it so you can't complete your collection, to giving certain people those items while telling others - basically - if you want them, pay for our lack of good judgment by paying stupid EBay prices for them.

It will die, this brand. Not a matter of if, but when. My only mistake, was ever supporting this game as much as I did. I got smart, however, especially after they refused to release products that should be released to us all who want them.

Even a lame TTL game like Infinity can make better decisions, at least in making sure all products registerable are released and giving actual dates for all figures. I never expect my power discs to become anything less than what they were meant to be, unlike Magic Items in Superchargers.

This brand is nothing more than a joke now, especially after giving people access to traps that were meant to be replacements only. Handed to some, while others were basically told to hit the road.

Not from my point of view. In Aus they didn't release the Captain Marvel falcon power disc pack. Lego Dimensions is the only one with excellent track record of releases.

Can we *please* not turn yet *another* thread into a woe-is-me, Skylanders sucks because sales are down, Activision can't ship, I can't get my toys first thread?

Yeah, Dimensions has done an excellent job at releasing everything on time and announcing what and when any given product will be released.

In any case, that one disc won't cost as much to get as a Yawn Trap would on the after market. I think with this brand, I'll grab the popcorn and watch it die its death. Think they were a little too late in getting the cartoon off the ground to maximize brand recognition. Now it's coming out on the heels of the lowest scoring Skylanders game review wise, and at a time when they're making bad call after bad call.

I strongly encourage everyone who wants these to call every week or so asking about a US release (not to beg for free toys). Same thing I've been saying since last October.

At worst, they'll ignore you and you'll get no Yawn Traps. So you're no worse off than you are now.

The lady I talked to didn't know that they were not released in the usa she was going to try to send me links on where to buy them I had to inform her thst no one here had them and that actually no one within 150 miles of me have anything but water traps which they have marked down to $2 and still can't get rid of the abundance of water. 7 out of 10 too much water traps

Call 844HELPEON and let them know yourself that you want a US/World-wide release of the Yawn Traps. They may not be sending out anymore freebies, but the same thing I said in October applies now - and I wasnt even considering that they'd have them to send out.

Email them. If you're on Facebook one of the many groups have released the email of the CEO of Activision. Many have already sent emails.

I want to see the traps released here in the US. I have a complete collection minus the 3 yawn traps and refuse to pay 200+ dollars for what should be a 6.99 trap. I wish Activision would either allow us to order from them direct on line or release them to the public here in the US. I have called the support line to check on release date but unfortun ale they have no info to give nor do they have any way for me to order them direct.

Activision should release these, its part of the game and they should not expect folks who already spend too much money on this game to pay only ebay prices as only Australia got these in limited supply.
