There was a previous trailer that looked pretty good, but the humor in this one doesn't look like actual humor. Here's hoping it's better than the trailer leads on.

Also the animation looks fantastic, imo.

II think it looks cute and plan on seeing it. It's got a stellar cast.

My only nitpick are the pigs, that and it's a video game movie.

I'll give it one thing: the animation is nice and colorful.

Higher quality than I would expect from an animated film about an app.

It does look nice but since then other things have come out and most people have loss interest in the games, kids (the target audience of this movie by the way) probably would want a FNAF movie more than a Angry Birds movie at this point.

It's totally understandable, and I completely agree, they waited waaaaay too long. While it's visually appealing and has an amazing cast, they should have tried to make the movie earlier, and released it during the big Angry Birds boom. Maybe it'll be the exception of "bad video game movies" if they put this much time into it.

Also that last thing is actually already in progress.
Scott Cawthon is pretty heavily involved, and the animatronics are being constructed as practical effects at the Henson Creature Shop, so it'll have pretty great effects and be loyal to the games.

My money's still primarily on Warcraft and Assassin's Creed. If those two can't be good then I can't really see video game movies ever being good considering how much effort is being put into both of them.

Angry Birds I kind of see as harmless. I don't think it'll change how people view video game movies the same way Warcraft and Assassin's Creed potentially will(partially because Angry Birds is just primarily a mobile series that was popular years ago and Warcraft and AC are established console titles), but i don't find any reason for it to be awful. Same for Ratchet and Clank(though I'm definitely seeing that too since I'm really interested in the movie in general).

Yeah, i have to find a source, but apparently Assassin's Creed has an estimated budget of about $150-200 million(I just looked and Avengers had a $220 million budget by comparison).

I think Angry Birds and Ratchet and Clank would be a good start in terms of critical reception. After all, we haven't really seen any video game adaptations be animated with this kind of quality(you could argue that about Wreck It Ralph but that wasn't really based on anything prior), so they may end up being really good. Like I said, I don't find any reason that they would be horrible like most other video game adaptations.

In terms of commercial reception though, I don't think people will see them as the ones that changed cinema's view on video game movies unless they become HUGE blockbusters. Warcraft and Assassin's Creed have more of a potential for this if they end up being good movies. But that's just what I think.

The movie looks pretty good to me. I will wait and see if it's good.

Though in all honesty though, this movie doesn't look all that bad. Especially when you compare it to the Trolls teaser trailer.

I just hope this doesn't wind up becoming the best video game-based movie we'll ever get.
