I believe this was meant to be more tongue-in-cheek funny than rude. If I'm wrong, however, you're totally right on that. However...
Quote:The stock to Australia of yawn traps was very limited
Agreed, but...
Quote:and is gone from stores...it's not like there are actual Skylanders fans who hoarded up on stock over there and are holding them ransom unless people fork out several hundred dollars.
I don't know that I believe that. There was a 2-3 month drought of any yawn traps showing up on eBay, but after that first light trap hit crazy money, all of a sudden everybody and their brother had sets to sell. And it wasn't just the same 2-3 accounts over and over again, it was multiples. So while stock might have been limited, based on the fact that these things suddenly KEEP showing up MIP/unopened, somebody somewhere was deliberately sitting on them or the stock wasn't quite as limited or depleted as we've previously believed.
Quote:Any average Joe in the US can stroll into Best Buy and grab a Steel-Plated Smash Hit...an Australian can't simply wander into stores and pick up yawn traps these days.
See above.
Quote:I highly doubt any of the friendly Australian collectors on these forums you are responding to are selling yawn traps for $800 (I didn't even know that was the going rate for yawn traps...no traps are worth over $6 in my book regardless of rarity).
You might be surprised. I'm not saying that's the case here, but you'd be amazed at who on here seems like a nice, ordinary collector but who isn't above scalping stuff for multiple hundreds of dollars given the chance. I've seen some examples were people were found out and called out about it and learned of others via private message trades where people wanted stuff for "their collection" which magically ended up on eBay for $200-300+.
Quote:The OP kindly asked a simple question...it's jerk responses like yours which make this a less friendly community.
If that response was meant jokingly (as I took it), then the appropriate emoji, context queues, etc., just needed to be added to the post. If it was meant angrily as you took it, I 100% concur. No need for that here.
