I wouldn't even be here to read the complaints if the skymiibos hadn't been around to revive my interest in Skylanders. I think they'll end up bringing in a lot more fans than they'll push away.

Now I want Bowser... Donkey Kong just wont cut it. I want Bowser Too. I will have to head out to game or something. Or score a black Friday deal.

I have to admit they put an incredible effort in both the Skymiibos.
Their animations look incredible, their effects are stunning even their graphics are far superior than the other characters (or levels).

However I cannot avoid thinking I didn't saw the same effort on the other characters.
Spitfire looks great... Not that great.

Oh, well... After all they are big Nintendo fan.

I honestly doubt TfB would put the same effort into the Skymiibos like VV did.

Most likely.
They probably woul have never created them in the first place.

I especially like the yellow fading smoke effect which originate from some of Donkey Kong's attacks: it really looks like it was taken directly from Country Returns or Tropical Freeze.

I posted this last page, AND listed the mods. The link is even a nice blue/purple in a wall of text, not enough to just lose it in the last 6 posts.

So far, as followed:

All Tech (possibly), Earth, Fire, and Undead vehicles are Land types
All Magic, Water, and Dark vehicles are Sea types
All Air, Life, and Light types are Sky types

However, Bowser is a Fire Skylander with a Sky-type Air Vehicle and DK is a Life SuperCharger with a Land-type Tech Vehicle. They're the only SuperChargers with vehicles that don't match with their respective elements.

I think they changed the types to match the element-terrain basis, because all of the other vehicles of the same element match terrain and it wouldn't make sense for just the two to not match

Having terrains linked to element also doesn't make sense to begin with. What is stopping Magic-infused Rift Engines from powering jets or cars? Other than organization, it was really the devs' personal taste.

Bowser can talk, but aside from Super Mario Sunshine, Mario games tend to stay away from voice acting for dialogue, which is why he just has his signature roar/laugh here.

Okay first off, what the heck is THAT?!?!?

Second, what I'm surprised no one has brought up is some sort of joke relating Nightfall and the Hash Slinging Slasher

After looking a while to the poster I'm positive Thump Truck has some kind of caterpillar tracks while Shield Striker almost looks like a Tron's light cycle.

Trigger Happy's vehicle seems to be another old styled racing car kinda like Crypt Crusher.

Technically he and the other Kongs can talk, just not in english. They speak their own monkey language.

GameXplain guy really does not know how the game works, he seems to take the figure off the portal over and over even if he has yet to show the upgrades(if it's the Treehouse figures with different levels of upgrades). Him mashing buttons near the end also has him using the horn,which I don't think anyone did before,too.
You can skip enemy intros! He skipped just as the Iflatators intro was about to end, unless the game glitched.
Also clear Land section remix of Chef Zeppelin Aerial Section - gotta hand it to Lorne Bafle,even if the reusal is shameless compared to SF he actually did change the songs around.

This is their first time ever playing Skylanders. There probably covering just because of Bowser and Donkey Kong.

Not the first time,since they recorded footage during E3 which was way different and they didn't restart the level. Not really criticizing them not knowing the less intuitive things of the game,but removing and replacing the same character twice every video felt like they were just guessing who had the full upgrade path.

Yeah they are horrible video's...i didn't watch them very long...and i agree with spyrocrash.

But quality is good,and any opportunity to hear the songs clearly is enough for me. Doubt we'll get any of the songs from Cloudbreather Dragon before the soundtrack shows up on Amazon though, unless Lou makes another Let's Play for the official channel before release.

I hope they don't do that copyright junk they did last year with Trap Team. Lou did a playthrough on Soda Springs, and the level itself was copyrighted because of it.

Honestly I just hope pvp is back. I love pvp !

That means that, if we don't see anything explaining the connection in the game, we'll get those answers in Rift into Overdrive. I think I'll have to give up on buying Return of the Dragon King for it.

No they only cover it beacuse of the Amiibo thing. They only like Amiibos.

They cover Nintendo in general.

They have cover other games, not only Nintendo.

Because it's Nintendo on a game. They're not exclusively Nintendo,but they covered even something as obscure as Boxboy because it's from Nintendo. But the 5 videos of attention to the franchise are nice, at least some people now know it's more than 'omg spyro uggo' that the genwunners yell all the time.

I don't really know why i subscribed to Gamexplain in the first place, they are covering Skylanders just for the Nintendo Characters that's just stupid.

What is news, is that there's some giveaway that seems affiliated with Activision that showed up today. I won't link to it since it's against the rules, but it's about taking pictures of skylanders in different vehicles and areas of a city, and you can share it with the official social media accounts instead of just the blogger. Maybe this what they're trying to do to replace the giant marketing they'd do in billboards and buses and everything? Since considering previous games had it two months before and we're at two months before with just in-store stuff.

No CountMoneyBone, it's not facts. Your problem is exactly what you said...you bought every single figure. It's like buying a house and saying, "Well if I don't have 10 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, 5 car garages, 2 pools and 3 jacuzzis, then I'm not playing what I paid for."

The Skylanders franchise is fine. When you buy fruit at the store, do you buy one apple or every apple in the crate? Just buy what you like and have fun doing it.

I'd need an account for that first, not too happy with having one the same way I'm forever a lurker on reddit. What I do wish was done was a harmless Q&A on lore since Lou probably won't have most of the answers, Paul Reiche and I-Wei will since it's their brainchildren. There are so many tidbits that would help a lot getting answered but not too worth bothering the devs for(islands=continents? Hex's magically disappearing boots as mentioned?Did Machine Ghost just think he was dead to come back fine not long after? etc etc). Some slow day where they could just open a topic in one of the forums and answer non-spoilery lore questions for two hours or so would be amazing.

On gameplay, really wishing for more Core stuff as well, maybe even show older skylanders for once - might or might not be wondering if they went back on the models even if TT did fix some of them nicely. Also wondering if they kept trinkets,but I doubt it since they were so few(but I'll sure miss putting Ramses' Horn on everything to look like everyone has stinger tails/hair/hands).

I remember being worried about Knight Light looking like an old man at first, so I enter activision chat customer support and they kindly asnwer "he has lived a lot of years but thanks to the power of light he has remain young". Maybe you should try it

I feel the same way, except that I actually want Dark Bowser way more than his original counterpart. DK and his dark version are okay, but I've known Bowser longer than I've known DK. Also, he'd make a great Skylander/SuperCharger against Kaos. Two different villains going at each other's throats in one epic battle or race.

I wanna see Bone Bash Roller Brawl in action. RB's my favorite Undead Skylander and I'm more than happy to see her. I also think we'll see gameplay of Splat, and possibly Thrillipede.
