Remember there are 6-8 EE characters and I am sure they are justified in counting those toward the 40+ number.

Skymiibos and variants. The dark starters alone push the number of figures up to 48.

Probably because Spyro has the disadvantage of not having an upright stature. And yes, I know Spitfire doesn't has legs, but he still stands upright and acts like he does have legs.

That might be just David A. Rodriguez who likes him and might have little influence, being a writer. Pop Fizz might show up as well and Spyro might humbly turn down Supercharger powers, who knows.

So does the regular core game have racing in it too? If so, is it the same as the wii and 3ds versions but without a "race story mode"?

It's Spyro and Skylanders, it's not required. Genwunners can tear their hair out all they want but it's still about the franchise.
...Still salty from his absence tho. Was looking foward to seeing him in racer gear,but considering Pop Fizz isn't even racing themed guess we weren't going to have that either way.

So they went with all humanoids....most of us predicted this based on what had already been released. You can use any Skylander you want to drive any vehicle. I'm doubting Super Charging will be the end all, be all for most of us adult players. For me it's mostly about Trophies now and how they will actually work. Will they have trap interaction with their corresponding villain? Is racing something you can only do in the hub? Can the villains be used in the main story in the correct vehicle zone? NEED ANSWERS!!!

Keep his triple flame balls and remove his charge for melee attacks. His flying is replaced by an elemental switch. He can change to any of the Skylander elements and each effect his breath and melee attacks. He can still fly by pressing the jump button twice.

The elemental switch can also be upgraded into an attack, every time to switch an element, there's a small, powerful burst of elemental energy.

Spyro can stand on his hind feet, it's not actually something that can't be done, they just didn't do it. If he was in the roster, they could just say he fits because he has toes, eyes looking straight foward, sorta long limbs, whatever. The thing is, they just didn't do that. You keep talking about it like it's impossible but it isn't.

It's in FamilyGamerTv's video, but it's as unclear as ever. Colors are a liiitle easier to dinstinguish but no text or much in the way of shapes for me.

As long as the games continue to maintain full compatibility with older figures, Spyro will continue to be in every Skylanders game whether he receives a new figure or not...

Anyone know if the elemental gate situation was cleared up?

The last I'd heard was that players just need a character and one of each vehicle type, but I could be wrong.

I think the very last news we got was an interview where they said Regular Elemental Gates were back along with SuperCharger Gates but I could have skipped some recent infos.

So it's only Vehicle Gates (rifts I guess) and SuperCharger Gates which can be accessed by any SuperCharger.

I said it a dozen times and a lot of times out of arguing with you - there's a difference between being salty and genuinely mad at something. I'm just salty and not loosing sleep over it. Just going 'damn, look at that opportunity, I even drew concepts myself and they could've done a lot' and forgetting about it once I turn off the phone or change tabs.
Heck, it even applies to Pop Fizz. You could've given him race/speed/quick reflexes themes like everyone else but they just gave him a tuba(???) and called it a day. Uh, ok?

On Smash It, as usual, pics or it didn't happen. No issue with users no matter the avatar or lack or which Sparx they are, but pics or it didn't happen.

Yeah, I wish Spyro was the character instead of Pop Fizz, it would have been a lot better for the franchise. Originally the Skylanders games were supposed to be based off of spyro. Jet-Vac and Pop Fizz has taken role for the past two games.

On topic, should we, or at least I, keep track of the alternate vehicle mods(non Superchargers, or even then)? Just kind of a 'if you don't like the figure's appearance, it has X set ingame' thread, but not sure if it'll be useful to anyone - and being on footage with little to no indication except for some Skyfamily videos, it's really hard to know if you're not watching every video. Thinking of descriptions like 'Crypt Crusher - Supercharged Set themed after accordion and drums - Second Set themed after a sarcophagus' or something along those lines.

maybe TTD can add it to the front page of this site.

The OP is as busy and full of basic info as it is, I was thinking of a separate thread. But just throwing the thoughts out there, this is kinda about the news but if asking for this is offtopic feel free to call me out on it.

You know it is a bit funny how we still don't have a photo of a poster a lot of people could take.

First thing I would do If I saw it myself.
Focusing on the bigger images is great and helpful but I would still put my phone's camera as close as possible to the poster and at least try to take a reallly defined picture of it.

We'll I don't think we'll have to wait a lot before "leaking" the full poster.

Regarding Gates, I was thinking: why give Elements to vehicles too if not to open special Gates...?
If they did it simply to continue the Elemental concept of the series then they have all my respect... But honestly I don't think that's the case.

They could also simply make certain vehicle areas elementally aligned so a Water vehicle would be stronger/faster in a certain Sea area while a Magic one would be stronger in another (maybe a magic potion river...?).

But I have the strong feeling there is something they don't want to tell us yet... Just like last year...

i already said something on that before if he wasn't around in some form for trap team but i would think if they stop skylander previous support and he's gone for a few games i don't think future installments should be listed here and branched out to its own section and not part of dark spyro.

I think what it comes down to for the characters is the fact that for older gamers they look at spyro but the demographic they are trying to attach to sees the fun of reposing gill grunt, eruptor, etc. plus as far as elements go pop fizz is one the devs have liked since giants and in a way they have been pushing to have their own original characters popular enough to not use an old franchise to stand on. That's what I think they are going to try and see if it works for spyro not to be in a game.

They needed something to get people first interested so they went with spyro's adventure but if you noticed by each game he was being pushed down in different ways. while he was in the dark starter for swap force, he was kind of pushed to the side by the time trap team came around. sure he got the eons elite for magic but there was no point otherwise to repose him, hence they just made spry. It should have been first obvious for Cynder not to return for trap team and how low Spyro was for involvement. With only Spry in the normal figure release. You could consider the elites outside of the normal waves due to what they are. It's possible they may bring him back reimagined in another game if they make more.

I'm taking it in stride of how Stealth Elf is in all the starters but the wii u and wii dark starters. I'm glad he wouldn't be imagined in the same way as she has since she's had excessive burnout. For one I already have a dark stealth elf from swap force who I don't play with and I don't need yet another to the same. I'd rather they take the time to reimagine him for something else more. That and I feel anything after trap team are what maybe some fans have asked for that they are side stories. Not all skylanders will be apart of and will consist of the lower waves and figure numbers. TfB might be handling the main stories.
