He might mistaking in with simple zones, but the question is specifically about gates.

If Elemental Gates are back... YAY!
If SuperChargers Gates are tied to vehicle types and not SuperChargers themselves... Ok.

From now on I will believe something when I'll see it: too much conflicting informations at this point.

I'm still not sure about this interview.
As ultyzaus said they seem to refer both to zones (the areas where a certain Element is stronger) and Gates... But they did say zones accessed by opening Gates.
I'm still unsure if they were referring to the actual SuperChargers Gates or simply to the rifts from where you can access vehicles.

There's absolutely no conflicting information. I've understood everything the official Activision/VV folks have told me. Help me out on the official videos that conflict.

Last year, there absolutely was conflicting information between the officials, TfB, Activision and the booth dudes.

We're literally talking about it. Guha Bala and Lou have been on both sides of saying that there are Vehicle Elemental Gates,just Elemental Gates/Zones, or just Supercharger Gates and Vehicle Areas. I'd say trusting Lou would be the better idea since he's the one doing official videos other than interviews, but even he's said both.

The only video I've seen is that they've indicated there are only vehicle gates. Link to source stating otherwise is appreciated. If it is in, it would be nice if they showed off one. I've only seen bits of the Cloud level and the level where you're on a dragon (and fighting in the air).

So, this was a telephone interview. Not sure I'd trust it. IIRC, we got conflicting information on similiar type calls. If it doesn't come out of Guha or his bother or Lou, I'm not buying it.

I won't be good with sources at all, I watched way too many interviews and most of the time I wasn't looking at the channel name. But the information was always on the cloud/Skylantis levels, because they'd bring them up when someone found the Supercharger Gate near the Land section. I think myskylanders' interview with Guha Bala also mentioned it.

Well if there are elemental gates then I hope they are normal elemental gates and not gimmicklander exclusive elemental gates like in Trap Team. Normal elemental gates aren't really a big deal.

I am avoiding all gameplay videos to keep away from spoilers so I only rely on news videos with just a couple gameplay moments in them or even simple informations or pics posted in this topic.

First I heard about Vehicle Gates but never seen a sign of them and then we somehow got the information there were absolutely no Gates at all in this game.
Shortly after SuperCharger Gates were revealed in a SkyKids video which I however didn't see and at least those are confirmed.
But now we learn about the possible return of Regular Elemental Gates along with the Vehicle ones which we first heard of when the game was revealed.

Keep in mind I don't remember all those sources but I do remember they were always legit (Guha, Lou, other interviews).

They have been extremely clear on everything elese (or simply didn't say anything at all which sometimes is even better) but I'm currently really confused about Gates, this year.

Unless some pics of them start appearing I will happily take them as eventual surprises when I'll play the game in September.

All the other information on that interview has been confirmed somewhere else though. But we indeed must take into account that the interview must have been in English (unless Guha also speaks French?), then translated by the author. Some info might have been twisted in translation.

I specifically remember the video during E3 where the guy was playing as Terrafin and he said there are no elemental gates in this game just areas where certain elements are stronger.

I remember it too and I don't doubt that was true back then.
But Trap Team shown us they can make unexpected changes in almost no time.

So now we know there are SuperCharger Gates... But will they remain in the final version of the game?
And are they alone...?

That's why I'm confused.

I would have rather had 4 player local co-op then online multiplayer but I don't care for online multiplayer much.

Since there are no normal Skylanders, only superchargers, the gates should just have to be opened by any supercharger of that element. Assuming you get one supercharger of each element, it shouldn't be a problem.

That would be as bad as Trap Team, forcing us to buy at least half of the Superchargers (eight additional from the PS/XB starter set, nine additional from the Wii U starter set). If they just use normal elemental gates then we can just reuse the figures we already have, and newcomers to the series would have more options when choosing which figures to buy.

For anyone worried about issues with room on the traptanium portal on this game....
Hot Streak is a bit longer than a Swappers width
You can fit Tree Rex, Wallop, Night Shift, Rubble Rouser, Trigger Snappy, and Sky Diamond all on the portal at the same time

But can you fit in Ninjini,Krypt King,Hand of Fate and Midnight Museum and not knock it over in the first misjudged attempt to grab one of them without looking?
I kid, I just need Krypt King to tip the entire thing to one side.

There's a new interview from Skylanderstipps. Guha Bala looking like he doesn't want to hear himself say 'vehicle fantasy' anymore, he sounds really tired this video.

I think I got why he keeps going back and forth. He's trying to call terrains elements.
-Vehicle Mod Chests are also random, this confirms that the chests in the demos are rigged, since Volcanic Vents are on the same place every time in all demos.

In reality we've been only demanding it since Swap Force. I don't think demand for it was not "real" enough until the first two games were in the books. You can thank the next gen requirement for online accounts.

Could this be the first actual proof of a Dark Edition Starter Pack (I guess for all the versions since those definitely look like Barrel Blaster and Hot Streak)...?

The yellow light seems to imply it but... It shouldn't be so close to the floor and the general shape doesn't resemble it too much.
Could be a new vehicle.

I bet if it is the barrel blaster the dark pack would just have dark vehicles no way would have a dark dk maybe bowser but not dk imo and it would advoid confusion if they are no dark charcters in the dark starter.

That does look like Barrel Blaster and Hot Streak, but the lack of Clown Cruiser is kinda weird if it's Dark Edition - maybe we're looking at Dark Combo Packs instead, kinda like the Dark Spyro single packs?

but why would barrel blaster be there they said dk and bowser are only in the starters?

I'm just guessing,really. Yeah, 3DS never got Dark Editions but now there's the Wii around and it always had one no matter how behind it got in the games.

After looking at that picture again the left vehicle does seems to be Sea Shadow like others already suggested.

Maybe it will come with this year's Dark Edition along with Nightfall, Dark Hot Streak and possibly Dark Spitfire.

Actually, Nightfall herself seems to be a Dark infused Dark Element Skylander.
She doesn't have Blackout and Knight Mare's color scheme and instead has the typical Dark palette swap colors (silver, black and purple).

Her vehicle however does have the Dark peralized green along with some other colors and... Frankly it doesn't seem to pair well with the Nightfall we know.

Maybe there will also be a regular version of her...

It definitely looks like the Sea Shadow and not the Barrel Blaster. This announcement might not even be a dark starter pack. It could simply be an official showing of the Sea Shadow. Hopefully, though, it will be a dark starter pack.

I just hope we see Nightfall in action soon.

It would make sense since Sea Shadow and Nightfall do belong to the Dark Element but... Why add a covered Hot Streak, then...?

That's KINDA Spyro's snout but not his current incarnation - the nostrils are very close together and this one is on its own like the LOS designs.
But that's also Kaos' tattoos - and both of them have the same red detailess eyes so even colors won't help. Man, this is confusing.

What are you talking about? That's clearly something relating to Kaos and not Spyro.

I just mean the mouth, it's obviously not but it's still confusing. He looks like he has a snout with the higher brightness - can't even be his overbite because the mouth is way lower.
Keep in mind I don't have a Kaos Trap and probably never will.
