My cat has never had a bath and she doesn't smell... I don't understand your reasoning?
Dogs shed as well and certain cats don't shed. My beagle sheds more than my cat.

yeah it does seem to go down that way doesn't it? :\

I've also noticed that people who prefer one over the other prefer them for very similar reasons. People who prefer cats say that dogs are not as intelligent, bark mindlessly all the time, **** in the garden, have too much spit on their tongue, etc, while dog lovers say that cats are evil and not loyal.

My personal reason is that I just don't like the dog's personality. I prefer the mature and quiet nature of cats. Also cats just look better.
