This is probably the make or break for me, I'm starting to lose interest in the franchise after battle mode was taken out, but if this happens, take my money activision. Also, what if the vehicles have a customizable feature, like you put them in a "garage" and the legendary treasures you collect are decals and you can find soul gems for each vehicle to add an extra effect, like added speed or damage. Just a thought

@eruptor100, this could be really cool if it's true, but you can't believe everything you see on the Internet unless it's proven to be true. This is some random instagram user that I've never heard of before, so we'll have to wait and see

It's basically his S1 artwork mirrored and slightly tweaked.

The character might be real but I highly doubt that's his artwork.

Doesn't help that the facepaint is perfectly straight. Yeah, because when you paint your face it gets that way. One of his feet floating in the air and not in a dynamic pose is pretty darn weird too.

Ya know, I think that if he didn't have that red line on his face I may believe that it is real.

Go look at the page again. He said it was fake, he wasn't trying to trick anyone.

Besides; if it was real, then why would his harpoon gun be exactly the same as the Series 1 version? Each one has a different weapon.

I'm not sure the portal owner's pack was all that successful, anyway. Some stores are still trying to get rid of them, even after clearancing them out. I don't remember the difference in the retail price of Giants, but was it that much? Besides, all the sales were for the pack with the portal. I remember when we picked up Giants on Black Friday, it was a lot cheaper than the portal owner's pack, as it was with every sale after that. I didn't have SSA, so that was great for me. But I remember wondering why anyone would even buy the portal owner's pack if it was never on sale as cheap as the one with a portal. Now, if you're someone who has to buy first day (when there aren't any sales), then a cheaper portal owner's pack might be better. Or if you really waited and hoped to find a copy of the game used somewhere and not worry about the portal (although you might want the include Skylanders). But I'm sure those people make up a very small percentage of the market. Even if they didn't change the portal (which I'm going to assume they will from now on), I don't think it was worth it for Activision to release a portal owner's pack.

From my limited understanding, it wasn't.

From my limited understanding, the only things that performed worse were the PC edition of Spyro's Adventure and the iOS Battlegrounds pack. Maybe the tablet bundle from Trap Team, but what I've seen on that is very limited and too soon to tell.

The Portal Owner's pack suffered from multiple issues - most notably, it was only something like $15 cheaper. For that $15 savings, you lost out on two figures (one brand new character, one a repose of a pretty popular and, at the time, somewhat hard to find S1 character) and the extra portal. Getting the portal owner's pack locked you into the same system (many Wii owners moved over to the 360 for Giants *and* the Wii U came out this year). Also, Walmart (and others outside the US) had the Glow-in-the-Dark bundle that folks wanted. To top all that off, the $10 off coupons that would come out were only good on the starter packs (officially, at least) and the starters were often on-sale (and generally cheaper than the Portal Owner's pack when they were on sale). And S1 jet-Vac has *still* never received a single-pack release in the US.

A Portal Owner's pack *could* work, in theory. I just don't see Activision taking the steps to make it happen and I really don't see retailers jumping on the chance to offer it again.

It'll work when they think of it as buying a gimmicklander and the game loose, not lacking figures but still being way more expensive than a regular game. I couldn't think of getting the Giants one because during xmas importing one was the same price as getting the starter pack months later in my country, so I just got Tree Rex and the CD and didn't even have to worry about shipping too much because it's lighter without the box and the extra stuff.

Import/Shipping costs aren't something Activision or regular consumers generally have to deal with.

But "Way more expensive" doesn't really apply - retail was something like $15 more. That's not really "way more" expensive.

Dollars costs three times a real in my country and that's not couting 60%-ish eletronics taxes, so it's a lot to me ._.

Oh yeah, for you, I totally understand. In fact, it seems you'd almost be better off finding someone in the US to repack/reship the bare necessities.

But, as you likely know, Brazil isn't a target market for Activision (or anyone in video games right now) - so I wouldn't expect to see any decisions made with you in mind. :(

Yeah, the local Activision game distributor already ditched Skylanders; the taxes for being both a toy and a eletronic probably pissed them off as much as it did to Nintendo. Just being hopeful over vehicles maybe attracting demand from here, but I doubt it.

But back on the topic of Portal Owners' pack, in the miracle that they still consider it. Thinking about it, if it happened durinjg TT and SF, it still wouldn't work as a long-term fan's discount because you'd still need more gimmicklanders, so having a figure bundled along maybe won't really change anything but the price. Maybe if they sold just the portal+cd+extras?

It would work if they gave you the exact same as the one with the portal.

IGN comments the amazon leak and is pretty aware xbox wasn't listed (however I highly doubt it won't come out for microsoft consoles). Nothing new though, but is interesting as how bigs sites follow what's happening with the game:

Unless they want to slowly turn Skylanders into a Sony or Nintendo exclusive, which I highly doubt, they would never develop the game for the PS4 and not for the ONE.

Thankfully no because I use Xbox 360, but I don't know if it's going to stay that way when I move to the WiiU for some other franchises I'd love to go back to. At least while the console isn't dead I can just keep getting Skylanders for that since it's just not worth reselling. For the franchise, changing the language changes the dub as well - thank Eon because the brazilian dub is just horrible. It also changes between Giants/SF and Trap Team and gets worse, because Kaos totally needed to sound like a 10 year old and Golden Queen needed to sound like a guy(this happens a lot in brazilian dubs for some reason). Which is weird, because if you couldn't care to sell the game here why did you waste money dubbing it for next-gen(mine is english-only, but PS4 and X1 have the dubs)

Some time on June 3rd. Right now the best guess is midnight, the only problem is detterminining which midnight. My best guess is GMT Midnight. That translates to 8PM EST. Of course we can't be entirely sure.

Hopefully it shows something big and it isn't another silhouet.
