I was going to start this challenge when Trap Team came out, but I stopped collecting any more skylanders for a while seeing how it's pretty harsh on my money. But looking at multiple shelves of stores and thinking a lot about them recently, I'm thinking "Yeah, I think I should continue to collect more seeing how I keep thinking about these things".

I haven't played Trap Team at all, but I will one day, only if I complete what I call, Lame Lime's Collection Challenge. We're halfway through the Trap Team year before the fifth skylanders game, and I never collected anything from Trap Team for the first half. But I'm back in the groove and will try to collect what I want for Trap Team.

I will NOT start playing Trap Team unless I have all of the goods and completed the challenge. I want to have a pure experience playing for the first time with everything I want, unlike Swap Force where I would constantly beat the game while waiting for other figures to be released and available. I know the early wave figures may be hard to find, so I'm going to have to order some online again.

I am going to leave everything unboxed until I have finished the challenge. After doing so, I will do a super unboxing of everything before I record a blind playthough of the game for Youtube featuring all trap masters, absolute villain traps, and all Adventure Pack levels. Also, I won't be buying the starter pack unless it's on sale, assuming it ever IS on sale one day.

Okay, I have six months before Skylanders 5. If I don't make it by then, it could get a bit more chaotic with the new figures, whatever gimmick and amount they are. LET'S GO

well have fun i guess. some of the trap masters are starting to become rare. not sure if they will get re-released or not. But i wish you luck on this challenge of yours.

So I thought of a game plan that will span pretty much the whole duration of the challenge. What I want to do is reach a specific percentage at the end of each month. Once I pass the required percentage before the month is over, I may buy all of the other cool stuff I want before the next month.

What I aim for every month is get 20% more of my collection, so by five months or so I should be finished. However I don't know how fast or slow I'll be at collecting what I want. So if I find next month too hard, I'll alter the the percentage I need for each month.

In a few days I plan to go out with lots of money, this is money I have saved up for this moment. I started this challenge just last Friday and was saving since February, so I didn't waste time at all. I plan to get my first 20% of the collection in one afternoon. Really looking forward to it!

Today I did my grand shopping trip to a faraway plaza at the end of town. I would like to get at least 20% of the whole collection in this single run by getting just the new element packs and four trap masters. So I bought them all, then I went to Walmart and found ALL the Wave 1 trap masters which I didn't have. Wow, I must be lucky to find this! All the Wave 1 trap masters purchased in a retail store here in mid-April. I almost ran out of money and enjoyed it because I don't have to order these guys online. Just Wave 2 I have to worry about for later.

So yeah, not only did I clear my goal of getting my monthly 20% now but I got 10% more than the requirement! That just means I can just make half the progress for next month. Should be easy now that I have Wave 1 and most of the usual trap masters I'm seeing in stores at this time. Hope I can see more during the summer. One other thing, I'm only focusing on the trap masters right now before I go for the traps. Trap masters are more harder to get than traps, for traps I can feel free to get shape duplicates on one element and easy as long as stores have them. As for the other adventure packs, I don't know what will happen next.

i noticed you dont have snap shot yet. As far as i know you can only get him from the starter pack, so does that mean you dont have the starter pack yet?

Might have forgot about the starter pack idea.

I can get the starter pack at any time, but I'm best to buy it on sale. If I see it somewhere on sale AND have the money for it, I'll take it. But I'm still not going to unbox all there is and play the game unless I have everything.

Some Targets still carry the Dark pack starter set. I don't see it gonig on sale soon but its a good deal if you can find one.

I'm not in for the dark pack. I prefer the normal trap masters for my collection before I can go out and get variants for both upgrade paths. That means I declined buying Legendary Jawbreaker at TRU and Nitro Head Rush at Gamestop yesterday. Need to focus on the normals.

Good job finding Wallop and Wild Fire, they tend to be harder to find than the others.

I'd say grab a Ka-Boom if you see it as he didn't get restocked in Wave 4 like the other Wave 3 Trap Masters.

By the way, I think you might need at least one Mini Skylander (or a sidekick from the previous games) if you're planning to collect all items.

There is one specific area in the hub that can only be accessed by using a Mini Skylander that leads to a collectible item.

Ah crap, shouldn't have traded in my Terrabite months ago, but I'm pretty sure I found a used one at a Gamestop somewhere.

Updated the topic to feature more collections I do. I also collect giants, swappers, and had the idea of getting the original dragon figures today. Check the first updated post and another progress image of the figures I want.

Is there any reason this isn't in the stickied thread for showing off collections?

Silly me, thinking what I share is good but later on thought it was a hazy/bad thing. Yeah I think this thread won't go anywhere. I mean I don't see anybody else doing this. If they did then I guess this forum is spammed with topics like this.

It's not a bad thing - we just already have a thread for showing off collections - which is why you don't see a lot of folks doing this already - they do it in the mega thread that's stickied up top. :D

Switched the topic back to just the STT collection. It feels weird now with my whole collection thing. So just STT again.

Did some trade-ins at EB Games with skylanders and disney infinity items I don't want anymore. Twenty total figures, two bases, and the two DI games. Got a lot of credit, got some special used figures, and then got extra progress for this challenge. This is a good time because I don't pay tax for my credit before they put it on my Edge card. Now I have all the Wave 3 trap masters and double the traps. Still April and almost at 40%, the required percentage for the end of May. If I get another trap master or two more traps, I will reach 40%.

My (and my kids!)--

All Trapmasters, all regulars, all in-game variants, and all three clear chase variants. All 67 traps (technically 62 different traps, but got one each of the 5 regular and trapped boss traps.

I do believe a complete set!

Just waiting for the final three traps, two variants, two regulars,and final Trapmaster!!!!

Just curious, what are you counting as your 67 current traps? The in-game count as far as I knew is 59, and there are currently 56 released (everything except the 3 yawn traps). Then there are the 6 variant traps (of which only 5 have been released), and the 1 Easter Trap.

By my count that is 62 released traps and 4 unreleased traps.

Am I forgetting any?

there not getting ever type of trap, just 48 traps for each villain. but i did a quick count, arnt there only 46 villains?

Yes, there are only a total of 46 trappable villains, but some elements have more traps available than actual villains. For example there are only 3 Magic villains, but there are 6 different Magic traps.

6 traps for each of the original 8 elements (48)
3 traps for each of the new elements (6)
2 traps for Kaos (2)
3 Legendary traps (3)

Each of the above mentioned traps count as their own individual trap on the collections screen, for a total of 59.

Then there are 7 traps that aren't differentiated by the game and can be counted as one of the above 59 traps or vice versa. But since they have unique villain variant data and one is cosmetically different, they can be considered separate if needed.

That's a total of 66 potentially different traps, of which 4 haven't been release yet.

My original question to firemanb12 is how he comes up with having 67 traps already.

I've decided to save money and change this challenge up to make it a lot more easier. I'm afraid it might be harder than it looks.

Basically what I did was change the number of traps. I am going to get 11 only, one of each element, and I can switch villains with them any time. What I would like to do for the most part is use them on the Doom Raiders plus Painyatta. But down the road if I ever want to get all the villains trapped, I'll go for used traps at Gamestop and new ones every once in a while. That's what I'm doing with my early green base collection I started a few weeks ago.

So that means I'm at more than halfway finished. This is all I need left:

- All Wave 2 trap masters
- Enigma and Gearshift
- Tech, earth, and fire trap
- Nightmare Express
- Mirror of Mystery
- Starter Pack (Snap Shot and water and life traps)

Should be more relaxed seeing how I want this all done before the release of Sky 5.

Great collection so far but I really think we should close this topic we don't want every skylanders fan posting there collections in a new thread it would get to packed thats why there is a special topic for all collections.
