I honestly could not tell you since I love too many games, but I'll do a one per series rule. This is in no particular order:

Sonic Generations PC - The console versions are fine too, but the PC version has 60FPS and mods out the wazoo.

Smash Wii U - It lacks a meaty and engaging singleplayer experience, but the core game feels better than any other Smash game, and I like more of the characters. It's also amazing for screenshots and what not.

Super Mario Galaxy - I honestly like, Super Mario World, SMG2 and 3D World about as much, though Galaxy has the most significance for being so fresh and for introducing Rosalina and the Lumas, and they are my favourite main character and NPC character respectively, both in and out of the Mario series.

Journey - Beautiful, beautiful game with a lot of meaning. Surprisingly fun to speed run, too.

Freedom Planet - Other than a few issues I have with the story and characterisation (which you never HAVE to experience, since there is a "Classic" mode that cuts all of the cutscenes out), this game is literally perfect, and it is getting even more content yet. A perfect love letter to the 16-bit/32-bit eras of gaming.

Kirby Super Star Ultra - this one is my favourite Kirby game because it has such a solid framework, and uses it to cram a lot of variety into the game with variations on the Kirby formula for each "game" within the game. There's no point mentioning the original, this version has all of the same stuff and more, with improved sprite detail and music.

Kid Icarus: Uprising - quite possibly my favourite handheld game of all time. Nice story, lots of humour, charming characters with superb voice talent behind them, amazing soundtrack, and extremely tight game mechanics make for a really good time.

Dissidia: 012 - The only competition for Uprising. I poured over 500 hours into this. It's an extremely deep, content heavy game with such unique mechanics, and great love letter to Final Fantasy fans.

Mega Man X4 - I gravitate between this, X1, and X8 as far as my favourite Mega Man X game goes, but X4 is about as easy to get into as X1 and feels so similar to it, but X's powers are probably a bit cooler here, and then you have Zero.

Rayman Legends - beautiful visuals, superb orchestral soundtrack, perfectly tight mechanics, and it has a lot of charm (I mean, it IS Rayman after all). The Murphy feature in the Wii U version is also excellent, and I do have nice memories with it considering I won a prize in a competition for it.
