I been watching the forums for awhile now and this is my first post here. Is rocky roll's base loose for anyone else? I'm worried I got a poor quality figure so I just wanted to know if anyone else had this problem.

Ok, good we are not alone. We thought we broke it by rolling rocks at it, but it turns out it wasn't our fault after all. Thanks for posting this.

Thanks Buddy! There are so many of these things made already, I think they'll find out before making another batch. I just hope they don't break apart from the base.

I will keep this in mind if I ever pick Rocky Roll up.
Mental note: Be careful with him. |

I assumed that was how he was made on purpose.

So basically I figured that it was attached that way to sort of simulate the instability of the rock that Rocky Rolls is walking around on, and that it wasn't actually in danger of coming off.

I never thought of that, also I notice the cool detail that his base that it looks like mud that has been rolled over, but your idea might be true although I think it might have also just been a problem with the way he's made.

Yeah I saw Skylander dad's video the day before and was worried, but ours is a s solid as a rock *pun gun*. I could 'move' it with some real force applied, but it was no different than moving/bending a limb.

If you're worried about it you could really just dab some super glue under him. He won't wiggle again once it dries.

I might just do that, I'm just worried it might make his figure look bad, but hey either he I leave him be where he's loose or add little super glue and possibly make him look weird. Thanks for the advice.

I picked everything up from TRU yesterday and specifically visited these boards today to see if it was just my Rocky Roll that felt loose and flimsy. I guess not, which is both good and bad. Meanwhile, Thunderbolt is like a half-pound of solid plastic, so I'm hoping that means the sub-par Rocky Roll isn't a harbinger of cheaper toys to come.
And speaking of, did anyone else get the Life two-pack with Barkley and Whisper Elf? I had both these guys already (Barkley in triplicate now - Frito-Lay, TT 3DS starter and this pack) and the Whisper Elf feels MUCH, MUCH flimsier that the Frito-Lay green base one. Hopefully someone else can shed some light on this. ...btw, a small drop of Gorilla Glue at Rocky Roll's base completely fixed the problem. It dries clear so give it a try if its bugging you.

This isn't a new thing, Rocky Roll is very similar to Sprocket last year. It isn't unexpected the ball is hollow, at least it doesn't have a visible seam like Sprocket did. This is a place where both Infinity and Amiibos have Skylanders beat, if you have a big solid part of a figure, those are solid on the competition - like Wreck-It Ralph, Bay Max, Hulk and Bowser. Those are solid and quite heavy.

So Roll's figure is hollow... I have been thinking about this for a while.
We already have a lot of big and solid figures (the majority of the Trap Masters ad almost all the Giants), if it's stable enough it won't be a problem for me.

So do you think Rocky Roll should have been a $14 vinyl collectible figure? |

Skylanders aren't collectibles? Wow so many people here must be doing it wrong, thanks for letting us know.
I think it should be better than a $5 hollow throw away figure you pick up sitting with the gum at the register. You may be happy with poor quality, cutting corners on your collectibles, but I am not. The Figures are $10.99 at TRU, a few extra cents spent on making it solid isn't going to cut into their bottom line. |

At first I was gonna say it's not all bad that is loose, but now I have to agree with you there. While this doesn't automatically mean that he is fragile, that still doesn't excuse the quality on them. Even Super Gulp Pop Fizz wasn't wiggly on the base and his giant bottle actually looked hollow. All I can say is if the bottle was solid, why couldn't Roll? They're not even the most complex characters to make let alone difficult to produce.

Step down for I-Wei and company. Or was this the suits that wanted an extra 10% savings on production costs? I can tell you the minute they all roll off the manufacturing floor like this I'll wait for it to be sold to the next of gum and the gum is the more expensive of the two before I buy it. Did this just happen or are we we're supposed to roll with it?

Crusher's hammer is hollow. Never heard a single complaint about it. Sure, it's not what makes him stable, like Rocky, but still. Just "Roll with It!"

Pretty sure I-Wei isn't the person that chooses if making the figure hollow or not. He makes the 3D models but there's a difference between their awesome 3D printer and the one in the factory.

Ok... Yes, it's "worse" than I thought, but as others have said, nothing some glue can't solve.

Shouldn't have to do this. If the rock rolled as it was designed to be secure with other methods then sure, I'd go along with the "they meant it". Doubtful though.

It definitely doesn't seem inteded.
But it's not a big deal either. Sure, I would have preferred not to fix it, but it's still a "better" mistake than a bad paintjob, or an in-game bug.

Realy...i'll live with a loose figure then an in game bug any day. Do to them stamping these games out so fast there arn't catching all the bugs that pop up. Hopefully they will not have somany bugs in the next game.

They should really support bug-fixing updated, though. Maybe when they'll drop the Wii support...
