Sign up...I've done that for the Kaos Trap way back in November and I have yet to hear a peep from them about it. If they are rare items and in high demand, then no waiting list like this will work. T_T;;;

These shouldn't be rare unless you wait til May/June to purchase them...that's when stock of Easter Skylanders and Scratch started drying up everywhere. It'll be a "you snooze, you lose" scenario.

I'd assume most parents aren't going to want to buy easter skylanders when easter is a month away. So i don't think they will at all be hard to get when they come out.

The availability of Easter Skylanders, last year, must have depended on where you live. I believe the only one I saw in my area was Springtime Trigger Happy, and even he didn't last long. I know they were gone before Easter because I got him for my son's Easter basket and he didn't work. I couldn't find him to get a replacement and had to send him to Activision and wait 3 months to get one back. But my son was visiting family in Georgia at Thanksgiving and found a Punk Shock in Easter packaging.

They were around at least 2 months here in central NJ and then for another month or two online...I recall posting threads on here when Scratch and Fire Bone Hot Dog were $9.99 on Amazon.com. I wound up getting my Fire Bone Hot Dog on Amazon that day and I'm glad I did....I saw exactly one out in the wild on a peg during one of my TRU runs when he was first released, but had passed since I was looking to purchase the new Swappers that day.

The one regular Skylander to date which I've never seen out in the wild is the regular packaging Punk Shock.

Yeah, the Easter editions sold quite fast over here in NJ. Punk Shock sold the fastest.


Regular Punk Shock only made it to Canada in very, very limited quantities. I'd say that it's the rarest "normal" figure to date.

I'm pretty sure they never re-released her in standard packaging in the US, as I never saw one personally and believe I recall some of the folks who collecting packaging in all variations having to import her in standard packaging.

I think the Punk Shock in regular packaging with the NA (non-European) hook is the rarest non-chase Skylander in recent history...if I remember correctly, she was spotted in Canada only (I may be wrong).

I know Australia normally uses the same hook that the US does, so it could be from there as well. I know that all of the normally packaged regular Jet Vacs were imports from Australia since the figure never saw a single release in the US despite it being announced.

I can confirm that Punk Shock was available in Canada without the Easter packaging. I got her either from Target or EB Games (Canadian equivalent of Gamestop) last year. There was a thread about it here:

actually i saw her around june last year without the egg. never picked her up but target definitely had her in the regular packaging. i had the easter one so i didn't need to.

I recall going there the week of that announcement, but my area never had them (or in similar fashion, sold them too early or too late).

She was never available in the US in normal packaging. Just look at eBay, there isn't a single one on there.

These are now available to pre-order, release date is estimated to be March 22.

I did two-day shipping, and estimated arrival date is March 23.

Damn the $8.99 price tag on these guys! Are they serious or just plain greedy? I seriously thought the Easter trap would be $5.99....it's the same as the other earth trap except with a bunny theme and it doesn't register any differently in the game. As mad as people were with Halloween Eye Brawl, it was the same price as regular Eye Brawl...this is a 50% price increase!

They know people will buy them, so obviously they're going to increase the price.

Just like they knew everybody was going to buy the Eon's Elite...right? I might collect practically everything Skylanders, but when Activision throws me these curve balls like a 50% price increase on a trap or 100%+ increase for a glorified series 1 character on steroids (Eon's Elite), I do draw a line and make a budget-conscious decision not to blindly throw money at them. The perspective of a super fan might be different...as expected on a fan forum. Don't expect the masses to follow suit with these ridiculous price increases.

I also stayed away from Eon's Elite. The only Skylander I would pay $25 for is Polar Whirlwind.

Yeah the only one i have is Elite Trigger Happy(fav )....might get the others if the price comes waaayyy down.

I consider myself to be a pretty big time collector now, with something like 170 different Skylanders, but I've drawn the line with Pop Fizz, Jet Vac, Gill Grunt, Eruptor, Eon's Elite, etc.

I've lost count...250+ for me maybe.

Is Gamestop still taking preorders on the Easter things? I keep forgetting to stop into one and put my money down. I'd hate to buy them online because of that absolutely ridiculous shipping on each one.

Yes and no. You can't preorder them in store for in store pickup, but if you act quickly, you should still be able to get them to do an in-store website order which will ship to your house for free. I ended up going this route to skip the shipping. They say that they'll be delivered within a week of release which is ok for me since I just want to guarantee getting them versus having to find the time to run around. If that doesn't work for you, there's always the Amazon preorder or trying your luck at finding them in store when they're (finally) released.
