This is just annoying. Ever since they released returning skylanders there has been so many versions of one character
It's fine with Spyro to me (Because he's my favorite) but it gets annoying when they release the characters that have 5 other versions and ignore Boomer
Ghost Roaster, Sunburn, and Dino-rang
Also don't get mad if there already is a topic about this because I didn't know if there is one.

It is a bit annoying, and I believe that reposes shouldn't go above S2 versions for the extra ability and path switching.
But reposes are based off "fan favorites" which may refer to how well sales were of certain characters, or it could just be the favorites of TFB/VV, none of us are really certain of this. I do wish that these companies would give more love to the older figures without reposes though

I concur. How many Gill Grunts, Pop Fizzs or Jet Vacs can they produce.
7 of SSA's figures never made it past S1, only Camo did. Lightcores don't count (Warnado & Wham Shell).
Spyro2546, you missed also Voodood. I mentioned the other two.

I think it may be time to bring back the gill grunt family photo soon. I can always add pop fizz and jet-vac to the pic.

i wish we got in this game a series 4 of EVERY SSA figure, a series 3 of all 8 Giants cores and a series 2 of all 16 Swap force cores.

definitely in a very small majority on this forum, though i know plenty of other skylanders collectors who share this dream hahaha

I doubt boomer and ghost roaster reposes would sell. Boomer was once a shelf warmer and they are only rare because of the "I can't have so I want it" mentality.

Power wise, Boomer has been outclassed by all of his evil trolls in Trap Team (Lob Goblin comes to mind). GR too scary? I bet they got some negativee feedback, but it's a frickin skeleton. And the skeletones are in Trap Team. Not buyin' that one. Dino Rang---I didn't REALLY enjoy his gameplay....so there's probably a ring of truth there.

I forgot about Voodood because he didn't get a re-release. Some people forgot about these characters
And that is just wrong.

They should have 1 returning for Boomer, Ghost Roaster, Sunburn, Dino-rang, Voodood, Wham-Shell, and Warnado that have more than one wow pow to say sorry

I disagree with all of the above. I like Boomer. Ok. Maybe you can say he's too ugly, but he's definitely a lot better looking than some other designs. I like him better than Gill Grunt, but namely Fist Bump and Rocky Roll (both very poor designs, IMO). He's definitely better looking than Slobber Tooth (which isn't saying much) or Bumble BlastI would even say I like him better than Food Fight and Tread Head, but I guess some would consider Food Fight cuter and Tread Head has the cool vehicle. But Boomer is definitely a powerful Skylander, so he makes up for any cuteness the others may have.

Ghost Roaster isn't that scary. He's a great design.

Dino-Rang actually has cool weapons. He was my favorite for a while after we got him (he just got lost in the shuffle of newer figures...Boomer ended up the same way). I like his move where he throws boomerangs all around him. It helps a lot when you're being surrounded.

Agreed...you just have to pick the right path for Dino-Rang....i like his boomerangs. And Boomer is a screen cleaner with the right path.

I'd like to have 2 versions of each character, so that way both power up paths can be played with, now we usually do have at least 2 versions, and sometimes way more than enough, I'm looking at your Prism Break, but for those SkyLanders such as Ghost Roaster, Boomer, Swarm, Thumpback (kind of), Spy Rise, Rubble Rouser, etc, a second version would be great.

Well, I do actually like reposes, I usually take many of my favorite Skylanders and just to add the wow pow or many variants is intriguing enough to me. Just an example, I've got every Triggy Happy figure I could find up to date except one I never saw here and I absolutely like it.

Also, I believe it does give a chance for someone who would have miss some Skylanders to find them again, especially for these which aren't ordering online and for these who likes to have a new, fresh feel, with a different attack. One example is that I was never able to get Zap at first, so I got his repose from Skylanders Giants.

Also, well at the worst, for these which does not like them, they could just not buy these. Nobody is obliged to absolutely buy the reposes if they do not want or if they just hate it, the choice belongs to the actual buyer I guess. Like, I didn't got every Skylander ever and I did take these I could afford and that I like to get, and this include many reposes.

Ghost Roaster is awesome I agree but his looks and screeching is going to upset young children even if they wanted him . Your average skylander is goofy , cute and child friendly . Responsible parents will choose them first . <this is an adult pressure thing > .

Dino rang is victim of weapon preference . Big swords or Axes or Sword and Shield are more popular weapon choices . Until Dino became rare no one cared .

Its the same trouble with poor Gusto , everyone prefers Krypt King . Taking away their weapons well ol KK is wearing some impressive <legendary> armour and Gusto well................ he has a pot belly .
The fat kid in class is not bringing a Gusto to school with him.

I have a theory on Sunburn . Dragon yes , cool design yes , has wings but cannot fly < very bad> and his fire breath is medium range <bad> . Teleports <well thats no excuse for not flying >

I've played with Boomer, Ghost Roaster & Voodood on TT. Love their designs, but are freaking OP. Played Scratch (on Sapphire path) & I checked her stats. 100 Speed. Legendary Grim Creeper on Scythe path: 280 Critical Hit.

Yes, there are many Gill Grunts. But Dark Phoenix does have a point.
Except for really rare ones, I have series 1-4 + metallic Gill Grunt, as well as Gill Runt. I have 6 different Spyros as well as Spry. So what? I am a casual collector myself, though I play them. The only one that I don't play with is Snowderdash. She's my Holy Grail. The only figure I spent more than a DE TT starter pack

I have 2 . Yes i love Gill Grunt .

I would have less of a problem with the characters that have 10 variants if the newer versions were also more varied in their abilities. I would like to see further remakes add in completely new skills to these characters from the ground up. I'd be excited to play as a new Gill Grunt if his skills were 100% different this time around. I know they always have one new/changed skill, but usually those aren't enough of a reason to play one over another.

Then do what they did with Wrecking Ball. ?Make a S2 and Cute-ify him. Judging by the fact that we got a S2 of him, he must have been popular, even though his S1 was very ugly.

Ugly ? Wreckyball is an absolute cutey pie . Actually i found his S2 version sabre fangs , to be a sad, inaccurate and lazy way to create a different pose .

In game, yes but the figure looks just very mean to me.

It's all about sales, I'm guessing Dino Rang, Ghost Roaster, and Boomer didn't really sell well back in the SSA days and they never really wanted to experiment further with them. Maybe that has to do with how little were made of them compared to other Skylanders.

If Gill Grunt sells well consistently, they'll make more Gill Grunt. If Boomer doesn't sell all that much, It's pretty unlikely that he'll get any new figures.

Of course, that makes perfect sense, and it makes sense to have some characters as the face of the franchise. My issue is just that all the new versions of the characters are so similar. If they want to keep reissuing the same characters, make each new one exciting with a huge set of new abilities. For the most part, the reissues are just a copy-paste with a new wow-pow that may not even be useful.
