It's life toucan trap with the E3 exclusive in it! Says he got it in a trap 8 pack and it was supposed ot have steamed BG in it. Do you think he did find it or did he hack the trap somehow?

Hmmm.... Very odd. Though it's unlikely, the only explanation could be that he "hacked" it?

As previously discovered, it's possible to permanently delete variant villains off of traps using outside tools.

This would logically lead one to believe there is some kind of "flag" on the trap itself that says "When Villain X is Loaded, Make it Special." - and this flag can be turned on or off.

In theory, I would think it would be possible to turn this flag on for any villains that are loaded into the game on the correct corresponding trap.

I do not know if this is the case, though.

I'm going to have to go with it being hacked. If it is legit that would be a really cool item to own, but I highly doubt it.

This line from the item description is what makes me skeptical. upon discovering such a rare error why would you evolve all the life villains on it then proceed to sell it?

Yeah, that's crazy? Even shows pic of toucan onscreen and says riot shield shredder! And yeah, why would he evolve it after noticing such a rarity?

hmmm highly doubtful, seller has had some negative and neutrals in the past about the item's description and accuracy.

Ehh, I'm assuming that it's hacked. There's literally no way that Riot Shield Shredder could be on that Trap. I'd report it.

I would be impressed if it were a photo shop. Seems like that'd be more effort than it's worth - even more so after counting that you'd end up with negative feedback and no money.

I think I'm going to buy it..if its not real let PayPal deal with him...still thinking if I wanna deal with the hassle if its not real!

My thing is how do you prove its been hacked...Activision has never been help and far a authenticity stuff with variants.... That's where I'm having trouble with this!...so how do you prove it...but don't see any negative feedback with this seller...hmmmm

You can't confirm it's fake though... It will seem legit, the character will pop up in the game but this is so clearly hacked it's ridiculous. You can put RSS on whatever trap you want with the proper tools.

I can confirm making traps into variant traps is easy. Once it's out of the packaging it's basically just worthless as a variant of any kind.

Do not trust unpackaged variants at all, especially traps.

I'd imagine all it takes is a figure editing tool like what some were using to change figures into unreleased/rare ones. Any hacker with the right knowledge could easily pull this off and profit from it

My brother hacked figures during the first game to get any figure he wanted and fully upgraded with maximum gold. It's not that hard. I think he used a trigger happy and loaded whatever figure he wanted lol.

It's either a very rare error, or a hacked fake.

The funny thing is, if this seller had put some thought into it, he could have just hacked RSS onto the correct trap and sold a bunch of them "used" for $15-$20 each, made up to $15 profit on each one and no one would have even thought twice about it.

See that would make a lot of sense, and people would easily fall for it, or wouldn't care because it looks legit.

Yeah that would have been the smart thing to do UncleBob.....but it looks like he's not very smart.

Also with how common life torches are... it would be very easy profit

Traps being hacked to house variant villain is not a bad thing in my opinion as it would bring down the ridiculous prices.

I Do know of factory errors that have allowed for totally crazy things to happen to figures so anything is possible I guess.

That's why I said only trust fully original packaged figures/traps. It's the only way to have a chance.

That said, once it's passed through ebay a couple times does the buyer care if it's a factory error or hacked? There is no evidence or proof so value should be decided on what it is not what it "could" be.

If I sold you my car "once owned by Micheal Jackson" would you pay more for it without proof? Or would you value it purely at the value of the car...I hate to be cynical but I wouldn't take the ebay sellers word on anything without something to back it up and only value it as a normal trap!

I'd only buy your car if it was previously owned by Jon Voight ("John Voight")

If it was previously owned by him I would want to at least get his daughter to take me out for a test drive in it first

Anyways all 3 store managers in my location didn't get one....i keep calling last year and asking them if they got it yet.

Well, if you guys watch SkylanderBoy andGirl's channel, look at the first Trap Team hunting. Mike was playing on his iPad and for some reason, he got the Life Toucan to show up when it wasn't even out (it was the day before the game)

Because those kids dad gets a lot of stuff from Toys for Bob mailed to him....some of it for free.

No i understood fine... you didn't understand. He go's to Toys for Bob main office all the time..(didn't think i needed to include that part)..figured you knew that already, do to watching his other video's. So i will spell it out...it was most likely gotten when he was in there main office...im sure they have many prototype's they have made for test purposes....and they just gave him one as a gift....and im sure he didn't care that it was in the wrong life trap....and said thank you. Also it's on the I-Pad...im not real sure how the Trap Team game works on the I-Pad....i don't have one they cost to much for me.

Sorry to give you more negative here crstopher, but if pryo says it's more than likely he was able to hack it then I side with pyro he really knows his stuff and is one of the driving forces behind the capability to back up our skylanders. Hopefully you can let ebay look into this and get your money back

Lol! You really don't understand!
Sometimes, in the game, the wrong trap will show up.
For example, say I had an Undead Orb which then turned up to be in the game an Undead Axe.
This happened to them. They may have had a Life Hammer, or a Life Torch, but in the game it showed as a Life Toucan trap.
And if you watch one of their next huntings, he bought a Life Toucan.

If you honestly think he got the Life Toucan from them before it was even released, you are being plain stupid.

RARE, ERROR, or HACKED !! This trap has what he stated,"Riot Shield Shredder on a Toucan Life Trap !"
