Quote: Kinson420The items weren't meant for Saturdays release as they are in the weekly ad. The only items meant for Saturday were the free comics.
Tell that to my local Gamestops which refused to sell me a light trap when Gamestop's website reported stock at their locations, each telling me, "Oh, these are for the event on Saturday, you'll have to come back then." Having to take care of my newborn son, I didn't have time to go back each day after Monday to see if they'd changed their minds.
Needless to say, when I got in first thing on Saturday my wife and I were
p****d when we got told, "Oh, we don't have any of those, they were out all week and sold." Apparently Gamestop had a sudden change of heart in many locations. This doesn't make it our fault that they WOULD NOT PUT OUT or SELL stock and actively told (and apparently misinformed) multiple (former?) customers that the items couldn't be sold.
I'm normally one to let things slide, but seeing as they likely won't get the traps back in stock and an enormous number of people were told the exact same thing I was (and many by multiple associates at multiple stores, as I was), I and others who experienced similar frustration/disappointment/etc. have every right to be upset. As this issue appears widespread, Gamestop corporate can shoulder some of the blame since their advertising materials were clearly not clear to those receiving them and their internal communications to their stores were muddled enough that many stores wouldn't put out or sell the stock when it was first available in their locations despite their not being a register lock.
