OH! The Elites are $19.99! I may get the Elite Stealth Elf that I was looking at yesterday at the store. I thought these things were going to be limited and rare but mine had a shelf of around 50 total various elites which put me off from buying one. Now if they only get in about 500 Kaos Traps per store, perhaps I'll be finally be able to get one for myself.

This is good news!! I hope the Rebel Lob Goblin Trap is readily available since it is a GameStop exclusive. That's all I'm really interested in getting.

Not holding my breath on this one as last skylander day was a bust! No WF lobstar due to The weather? Besides the fact that 2 out of the 3 stores in my area don't even know their own promotions especially when flyers are right in their face at register......

Sales for the Elites must be below expectations for Gamestop to be offering them for $5 off. Your average consumer probably wonders why anyone would pay extra for these when the others are cheaper. Collectors may want them, but it appears no one else is clamoring for them.

My store had them today. I got 5 of them. The light traps that is. Its a clear rocket.

Yeah, I might pick up a Terrafin if the price drops some more, but no one seems to have any trouble finding them - and a sale at MSRPstop while they are still relevant usually means something isn't performing well.

Has anyone heard of getting a free mini figure as part of their Skylanders Day promotion? I don't see it on the ad. My husband went into a GameStop in the city where he works and an employee there that has gotten to know him said that they are giving out free figures but he wasn't sure what you had to do to get them. I will be going to the one in the city that we live in as soon as they open Saturday for the RLG trap (they didn't put theirs out early surprisingly).

I'll be there at open to get tuff luck and this rebel trap for a buck.....

Also, has ony one had luck getting wave 3 traps at GameStop? I still need them all but the water helmet.

I haven't heard about a free mini, but I do know they will be giving out a free Skylanders comic to the first 20 customers. Although, the specific stores could be doing their own thing. We'll be there at opening since my sons wouldn't have it any other way.

Good luck getting a rebel lob goblin trap that day because most gamestops have had them in stock and sold them already. Also, most of the store only got 4-8 of the rebel lob goblin traps.

Got my Rebel Lob Goblin trap a week ago. Now I do not have to fight the crowd.

Getting the trap is not a problem as there are 3 GS in a 5 mile radius by me. The one I frequent is not a high traffic store and right now there sitting on 10 pcs. Besides, all previous skylander days I was prompt at store open and always first one there.....

I done numerous Skylanders day at Gamestop and I have NEVER encountered a crowd. I think they get a steady stream of people throughout the day, but I'm there at opening and it's me and maybe someone else.

Yeah, these deals aren't Earth-shattering and a "free comic" isn't going to get crowds. The trap has been easy to get for over a week for those that really want it (I imagine they have some held back for the event, but who knows). And Eon's Elite aren't exactly blowing people away. I've got to be near one tomorrow morning so I might swing by for an EE Terrafin, but not going to worry about it too much.

I have to go to pick up some pre-orders.

I got myself a nice bonus at work so I'm going to go ahead and pick up the eon's eilte tommorow. 30 bucks off total isn't too shabby. I already picked up a rebel but I might return it so I can get 2 more and then get the discount as well.

Was able to pick up all the current elite figures and got the last rebel lob goblin and a couple wave 1 trap I hadn't bothered to get yet. They had no wave 3 traps at all and no new figures but didn't really matter to me since I got them earlier in the week from TRU

As expected, there wasn't a crowd, but more people at Gamestop than at previous Skylander events. Had to look at several Elite figures since some of the poses were askew or boxes were banged up. One store had no light or dark packs and no light traps. The other store had 3 light and 5 dark packs. The clerk at first store said the dark pack was sold out online. Light pack may be sold by now. Both stores had limited wave 3 traps. Not enough to take advantage of the B2GO free unless you were missing traps from previous waves.

I only wanted the Elite figures since I had everything else, so it was a success. Also, I got that cool mini-comic.

Huge disappointment at my GameStop. No light trap. The clerk argued with me about its existance and tried to tell me the only light trap is in the expansion pack. I showed him a picture from their website which clearly said "GameStop exclusive" and he finally (reluctantly I might add) looked in the store computer. It said they had one in stock. He refused to check the back due to him being the only employee there and said it must have been stolen from the sales floor.

Thankfully my husband has a good repor with the manager of a GameStop in the city that he works in. He has one waiting for him as well as the free comic and a free figure for my hassle.

Just lies, so sick of all the mother chicken lies. Gamestop can go chicken themselves.

Your experience at GameStop can vary GREATLY depending on the employees there. Some stores are there to cater to their regular gamers and don't care about the average Joe that walks in...some talk down to you or blow smoke out their behinds thinking they know better than you. I've had plenty of their employees try to incorrectly educate me on Skylanders and hype up ordinary figures in an obvious attempt to talk me into a sale. A few stores have generally nice employees who try to help every customer out. It really is a crazy, mixed bag of nuts there. Overall, I despise the company with their "scalping" of used Skylanders/games, lack of competitive pricing, reluctance to accept coupons, and piss poor online customer service...not to mention them taking out chase variants at their distribution centers so that they can bundle them with other expensive products rather than let customers have a chance to get them. Then again, if they did ship chase variants out to stores, I am sure that employees would never let them see the store pegs at 99.5% of GameStop locations.

MY GS is very knowledgeable and nice.
They had no wave 3 all of wave 1, and only the wave 2 figures.
no wave 2 or 3 traps except RLG.
They gave me my free comic and knew about the sale.

picked 2 RLG.one for me and one for my cousin. got a free life torch as well. I got the mini comic 3 days ago.

So are there only 3 light and 3 dark trap molds, but 4 of each villain right?

No light traps or anything Wave 3 at my better local GameStop. Glad I ordered them online. :D

My local gamestop had wvae 3 Trap masters, but i had them all already. olny about 5 traps in the whole store, no light or wave 3 ones. plenty of eon's elite! I picked up stealth elf and terrafin elites and left.

At every Gamestop I've been to, there have been plenty of Elites. People aren't willing to buy $25 Skylanders ($20 on sale), no matter how they may be dressed up.

to be sure I put a instore pick up in for the light trap and tuff luck and I'm glad I did! My son fell ill this morning and I didn't make it to there until after 1pm and supposedly according to the GS employee there was a rush of people and I got the last trap and tuff luck......

I did find a pre-owned lightcore pop fizz for $14. So they could have slapped me in the face as I walked through the door, and it would have still been an awesome experience.

I put a hold on one of the light traps this morning and was able to go at my leisure around 1PM to get it. There weren't any other ones out on the floor and this one was a slight trip across the river since none around my local area had any stock showing up online. Of course, on Wednesday when I was attempting to buy the expansions, the 2 workers were trying to convince me not to get it until the sale Saturday. By the sounds of their conversation, they both wanted to get them and there were only two sets left. I could do the math and bought it anyway with a guarantee I wouldn't see those sets again on Saturday. Luckily for me, the sale started early.

As I said, experience varies from store to store and my comments reflect my personal experiences at my 3 local stores which have put me off from shopping at GameStop unless they have something I can't get anywhere else. I had a great experience at my mall GameStop location today. Got my buy 2 get 1 free traps including the variant light trap and got a Skylanders strategy guide which was listed as $5 in the online Skylanders Day ad, but it rung up for $2.49! I don't know why, but the online ad had amazing sales prices for the strategy guides and the same in store ad was like $20 higher. Anybody else notice that???

I went in one at around opening. First and only person there (with my youngest son who was there for a birthday party at the Lego Store) and this is a very high traffic mall. They had some of the Wave 3 Trap Masters, but just Wave 1 traps as far as I could tell (I'm not into collecting traps, so am not really certain). Out of curiosity (since people here they had been selling them early, but it was in their ad) I asked about the light trap and they didn't have any, but she offered to call other Gamestops to find and hold me one if I wanted. I declined since I wasn't getting it anyways, but I guess they figured they messed up on this one by selling them out earlier.

I did pick up a EE Terrafin (always one of my favorites, and I love his Elite paint job since he is now blue). All of their Elites were still in the outer bag with no price sticker, so that was good - they had 4-6 of every single one that is out now. Went back by later after the party and it didn't look like their EE pile had changed at all. I'm wondering if they eventually get put on clearance - they do look nice, but people aren't biting at $25 (or even $20).

Yeah...That sounds about right. There was just little chance for the new item stock to remain for the event if it was on the shelves all week. I feel for those people. You expect an advertised event to actually have advertised stock. The post before mine is ridiculous. It really shouldn't be necessary to research every little nuance of the fine print of an event/sale for a toy. If you get an email about this event and you go in first in the morning, then you expect there to be the advertised product. That is by no means an unreasonable expectation.

Sadly, those of us who DID research this stuff (because most regs on here know what's going to happen) knew the lambs were going to slaughter on this one. My condolences if you are a lamb reading this. Take solace in that the new stuff (light and dark packs especially) will be flooding shelves soon enough. Well, other than the rebel lob goblin trap. That could go either way depending on if Gamestop gets more shipments. I'd like to think it will since Target STILL has plenty of the variant Brawl and Chain traps.

I must admit that GameStop dropped the ball at some locations and didn't seem to have all advertised product, but on the flip side of the coin, social media has created a mob like mentality of parents with pitchforks and there seem to be a lot more kids crying over toys these days than when I was growing up. If all these parents know how to complain online, then maybe they should learn how to go online and try to check availability of product and possibly reserving items for pickup to reset expectations before heading down to the store with kids in tow.

I don't think it's the customers fault. GS advertised an event and they should have product for that event. I experienced it plenty of times where stores held back product for their events. From speaking to GS employees, they received product all throughout the week. Easy enough task to hold back until Saturday. It's a surprise to encounter items early, when you think release would be Saturday, but this is all on GS.

Note to self: Gamestop sucks.

I actually had quite a fun skylanders day because I KNEW gamestop sucks at it. So, I took their ad and casually went to Best Buy after dinner and got everything I wanted for the exact same price as gamestop (not to mention rewards from BB for the purchase). except of course for the light trap which I picked up earlier in the week.

I had gotten my light pack for christmas, and the dark pack a few days ago with the RLG trap. (last one, too!) I would have been one of the hosed if i had expected to find the dark pack and the light trap at the gamestop i went to. they had nothing out of the ordinary, only 5 traps in the whole store, 2 of which were water traps. they had wave 3 trap masters, and that was really all that was cool. Next time, i'll just skip it.

Yeah my local store didn't have any of the wave 3 Trap Masters left...they looked up called the other local store and they had 2 Ka-Boom's the other one had nothing(held one till i got there..the second one was still on the peg rack when i got there)Blastermind and Tuff Luck where in other stores...about 50 and 65 miles away, they each had one left...Blastermind in one store..Tuff Luck in another store(not driving that far)....no Wave 3 traps at all....and all of them only got a small shipment of the Rebel Lob Goblin Traps...glad i got mine on friday, and when i called friday morning it was the last one they had and got the Dark Expansion Pack while i was there(luckly they got another shipment of Rebel Lob Goblin Traps friday evening). Also my local manager said he saw a Kaos Trap for the first time also...he said it sold in the first hour he put it out...thats right he only got ONE. They also got a small shipment of the Light an Dark Packs...think he said he got 3 box's...6 in each box..3 of each. ...9? all they got was NINE...REALLY?!?

They do this every year to Gamestop/EB Games....its called "Skylanders Day" HELLO!?!?!?...one would think they would send all of the stores a better supply shipment. They run short on these figures every year...one would think they would make more....oh well.

I'm glad I forgot about this event and ultimately didn't waste my time with it. Gamestop already has a shaky reputation among quite a few gamers and this is a way to erode that relationship with parents that are not really gamers but go there for their kids.

The items weren't meant for Saturdays release as they are in the weekly ad. The only items meant for Saturday were the free comics.
