Here's what I think Wave 4 might be:

Here's how I see it, after reviewing the release dates on SCL for SF

Wave 4 would feature the following
Trap Masters: Enigma, Thunderbolt & Short Cut
Cores: Fling Kong, Echo, Flip Wreck & Rocky Roll
All the remaining traps

Wave 5 will have any remaining in-game variants, restock, and single packs for characters that were part of an Adventure Pack (Blades, Déjà Vu, etc,)

I say this because many stores can't get rid of their existing stock (Hint, hint TRU. Can't even rid themselves of existing SA & Giants stuff regardless of any sales or deals)
Plus many of us would like to finish the game sometime in this decade, so we can prepare for #5.
That, and there's not really that much left to stretch it out further.

Light & Dark stuff would be released between Waves 3 & 4.....to keep us interested.

This so much. I can't imagine them being able to milk out this game any further and releasing all the remaining guys in wave 4 would be a much better idea. We don't want a repeat from last game where people missed out on Thorn Horn and just because they wanted singles and regular releases of them.

I got my Thorn Horn as a single, but as for I got her when she had the Easter packaging. They never did regular packaging for her or even in a triple pack.
I think her and are some of the hardest to find from SF.

Well, GhostRoaster617, you're quite correct.
Since this is a much shorter game than SF, the rest of the remaining items should not be dragged out.
Of the announced figures remaining after wave 3, you have:
3 Trap Masters (4 if you count for Gear Shift's general release, but I think she'll be TT's )
4 Cores
7 Traps

And that's not counting Light & Dark items.
Stretching the release dates is insane.
Get the rest of the items out and concentrate on the next game. Better content, reduce number of figures (prefer to eliminate reposes & concentrate on new characters)
IMPROVE THE FRANCHISE BY MAKING AN AWESOME GAME!!!! Each new one should be better than it's predecessor.
Make the next game soooooo awesome that it would make Flynn release a mega "BOOM!!!!" that could be heard all over Skylands.

That's why you save all the variants until wave 5, unless it's a holiday related in-game variant. Why stretch it out any longer? For most of it to sit on the shelves?

Otherwise if they add a wave 5....never mind. Let them do whatever the hell they want. I'm getting tired trying to figure out what the hell they're going to release. Just get it over with.

Well I must be lucky! My TRU's and Walmarts (and sometimes I can even find one at target) are FULL of Scratch!

It's like any figure, mega spyro. My TRU doesn't have much, but I've found a few Jolly Bumble Blasts.
The reason I mention Scratch because she's pretty high on EBay for a regular core figure. $40, I believe.

Why do you people think Wave 5 is going to be a full Wave?
Until now Wave 5 was only for ONE skylander: Ninjini, Doom Stone and probably a Trap master (I think Enigma or Thunderbolt)
So, they can go with the Giants methode to put the most wanted skylander in Wave 5 OR the Swap Force methode to put a totally random skylander in Wave 5

I do think Lightcore Hex serves as an ominous reminder that to wait on delivering these items risks underselling or overproduction.

Also, these holiday/season variants will be boxed standalone independent of any "wave". So, much like Winterfest I don't consider of it part of any "wave" per se.

My TRUs still have a fair amount of SA and Giants left, along with SF.
I was at one of them today, when they got MoM. But what was so damn funny is they had three pegs worth of the 8 pack traps and they got another case. Especially they're charging $45 while everyone else is $40.
But the best part of the new shipment was so funny I thought I was going to fall on the floor laughing histerically to the point of having an asthma attack was the last shipment.....

I only know one thing "for sure".

Fling Kong will be released along with Blackout, because they are in a Triple Pack with someone else (don't remember who).

Or... They could also release Fling Kong or Blackout one after the other, and then create a Triple Pack with another Skylander.

I will bet you that Activision doesn't start regularly shipping Wave 4 (excluding the promotional early shipments to TRU) until late February/early March. Easter is April 20th, and they will want to keep the buzz going until then to ensure that kids get Skylanders in their Easter baskets. If they release Wave 4 in January, there is not much left to promote in March and April.

Honestly, what's the point of stretching it to Wave 5? All the remaining necessary characters will be out and will have probably finished the game by the time a 5th wave came out.
Wave 4 should be like Wave 1..... Just get it over with so they can concentrate on creating a better game for the next installment of the franchise.
Any more waves would be redundant.
