Is 250 the new 174 ? [CLOSED]

The standard count for in-game variants in the first three games is 174 figures.

I still kinda think Double Trouble 1.5 should have special recognition (As a Series 1 figure appearing as Series 2 in-game). But the game doesn't count it as any different from Series 2 on the Collections screen. In the same way the original minis show as "Series 1" on loading (the new minis don't show a Series at all), but there is only one entry for each mini's name on the Collections page.

So on that basis, I think the new in-game total looks like this:

Released to date: 216 =
174 previous + 8 original minis now playable + 10 (normal) Trap Masters* + 13 (normal) Cores + 4 new minis + 3 Dark + 3 Legendary + 1 Nitro
(*including Gear Shift, which some of us have got)

Officially announced to date: 238 =
216 above + 6 (normal) Trap Masters + 12 (normal) Cores + 4 new minis (in packs with re-runs of 4 existing ones)

Expected/Leaked : 250 =
238 above + 8 in-game variants + 4 from new elements
  • Legendary Bushwhack
  • Love Potion Pop Fizz
  • Nitro Head Rush
  • Winterfest Lob-Star
  • Power Punch Pet Vac
  • Eggscellent Weeruptor
  • Gnarley Barkley
  • King Cobra Cadabra

  • Knight Mare
  • Knight Light
  • Spotlight
  • Blackout

There are also 8 Eon's Elite, but I don't think we know yet whether these will show as in-game variants, or just act like chase variants.

Have I got this right? (If not please don't flame me, just send corrections.)

8 Elements x 16 Skylanders (including Minis since they count as separate characters) = 128 + 4 mysterious Skylanders = 132
16 Lightcore
18 Legendary
35 Alt Deco
32 Series 2
12 Series 3
1 Series 4
132 + 16 + 18 + 35 + 32 + 12 + 1 = 246

+ 8 Eon's Elite if they count in the Collections = 254

The Eon's elite do count as in-game Variants (the 3ds version lists them in the collection screen and they are needed to 100% the 3ds collection). Also all the ones you list as leaked are listed in the 3ds collection too, so they are 100% legit.

Your "normal" core count is off. There are 8 announced cores left, not 12.
Newkill's list is spot on, very nice.
Also, Eon's Elite count as separate in the 3DS version, thus they should also count on the console/tablet versions.

Phoenix Crystal is the best unreleased Crystal.
Skylanders Academy Season 2 was an improvement.
I don't know what to think of Skylanders' future.

Is Legendary Bushwack real? I've seen some varying things on this, the last I heard was it is a fake.

I've also heard varying things on Nitro Head Rush, can someone with the 3DS confirm these?

Yeah, L-Bushwhack and N-Head Rush are real, also confirmed in strategy guide. The fake image of L-Bushwhack posted before had his colors reversed.

Yeah I saw about the fake image, which is why I've wondered. Also, the images from the 3DS version listed and showed the others, but not those two. So they are visible in the 3DS version?

Also, I have a personal sneaking suspicion (not based on any evidence) that they are holding back on the three elements missing a repose (Tech, Earth and Undead). Those are easy enough to hide in the code since they do not have unique models that aren't already there and as I recall, the different series aren't all listed in the 3DS version unless you have them (is this correct?). That would be an interesting surprise early next year to suddenly have a Boomer, Ghost Roaster and Dino Rang (or maybe Bash?) repose for all those people missing them. Maybe I'm off on this, but it seems weird they only reposed five of the elements, and at least two of the three missing elements have very highly desired characters that haven't re-appeared yet. Just speculation.

254 is correct, as that is the total the 3DS version of Trap Team goes by (which for the past 4 games has been accurate for all in-game characters/alt decos).

Was it accurate for Giants? With the whole "your entire file gets deleted when you load 100 charachers" thing? :(

Or was there less than 100 figures for Giants, not counting specials and such?

The 3DS Giants game only went up to 99, which is the correct in-game character/variants list (37 from Spyro's Adventure and 62 new unique figures from Giants).

None of the 3DS games count rare/chase figures.

Thanks for the comments / corrections (I'd included the Light + Dark twice, which is why there were 4 too many).

Especially like newkill's summary.

My format now looks like this:

The standard count for in-game variants in the first three games is 174 figures.

Released to date: 216 =
174 previous + 8 original minis now playable + 10 (normal) Trap Masters* + 13 (normal) Cores + 4 new minis + 3 Dark + 3 Legendary + 1 Nitro
(*including Gear Shift, which some of us have got)

Officially announced to date: 234 =
216 above + 6 (normal) Trap Masters + 8 (normal) Cores + 4 new minis (in packs with re-runs of 4 existing ones)

Expected/Leaked : 254 =
234 above + 8 in-game variants* + 4 from new elements** + 8 Eon's Elite.

*
  • Legendary Bushwhack
  • Love Potion Pop Fizz
  • Nitro Head Rush
  • Winterfest Lob-Star
  • Power Punch Pet Vac
  • Eggscellent Weeruptor
  • Gnarley Barkley
  • King Cobra Cadabra

**
  • Knight Mare
  • Knight Light
  • Spotlight
  • Blackout

3DS Giants counted *something* more than the base figures, as scanning in a 100th "unique" figure would cause the game to crash and delete your save file. This happened to me and several others here..?

I had my file erase as well, but it happened while I was scanning figures before I got anywhere near 99. I thought it was because the batteries on my portal were low and something went wrong during the transfer. It was a file 100% too, all stars even the adventure pack levels. Never went back and replayed it, since it happened like a week before Swap Force came out so I had that game to play instead.

Giants 3ds counted non-in-game variants as well (they just did not count as part of the 99) So if you registered even 1 non-in-game variant it broke the game if you registered all 99. That's why I gave up on 100% compleating Skylanders giants 3ds was about 96% in when I registered my 100th figure and... yah just gave up after it deleted my save.

But yes the 3ds version always lists ever in-game variant from day 1, so we know them all. And it really looks like they did skip on 3 reposes.
